This is the book I have been waiting for!! Since meeting Clay in a previous book and you instantly do not like him! Yet then you are wanting him to find his mate. This book was perfect! You really must read the precious books in the amazing series so you understand everything going. There is a lot going on! Yes, each book is a HEA but they build on each other and characters form the books are in the other books.
Clay- He has had a hard time with his inner self. He had a good upbringing yet there is an anger there that he can not overcome. He is getting better with the and in the books, you see this as a gradual change with him. His daughter Emma brings so much to the story as well. The relationship between him and Sebastian is so funny. The banter between these two grows on you. Sebastian’s story is told bit by bit as well. You come to love him just like everyone else in this book. I sure hope this author finds him a mate as well. I liked how Clay reflected back on his relationship with Glendy. He really looked inside himself.
Elowen- what a strong woman. Her character shines forth right from the start. Her kids come first before anything no matter the pain it gives her. The kids were an important part of this book and they were age appropriate and added so much to the storyline. I liked how she took things and did not jump to conclusions but thought them through. The first meeting between her and Clay was picture perfect. You could just see it in your mind the way the author wrote that scene. In other meetings I like how they took their time and how she took the lead when needed. You would think this big bear of a man would be the aggressor in the relationship but he is so overwhelmed by her.
This book was so good. You become so involved with these characters from the first book that each additional book just brings that much more to the over story of these communities. Bring on the next book!!.

This book was amazing and I loved all the characters and how they had all grown up to be a strong family. Clay is a bear shifter , fire fighter with a a dark past but is a single Dad to Emma who is his world but when he meets Elowen and her two kids when her Ex husband Jackson who she has a restraining order against finds them and threatens her and his kids lives and thats when Clay steps in to save her and Jackson isn’t happy about it. Elowen is a chef who has left an abusive husband and marriage and now lives in Greenacre with her two kids Caleb and Dawn and after landing the job as the chef for a new restaurant thats have there Grand Opening when he Ex Jackson shows up and try’s to attack her but a gorgeous stranger saves her and there is an instant attraction that runs between them. Clay and Elowen start seeing each other and there kids on as well but when her Ex shows up again and attacks her Clay steps in and gets stabbed but is saved by Sebastian his friend who gets injured as well and that when Clay really believes she is his fated mate. Great book.

"...everyone was a soul, and every soul, as long as it was living, was worth fighting for."

Clay is torn between his full time job keeping Sebastian on the path to being a better wolf and protecting those he love, two personal missions that often overlap, when a family crosses his path that calls to his protective instincts in a different, and marvelous way.

Elowen is in awe of the fresh start Greenacre offers her, is it too good to be true? Is her family truly safe here, at last?

I loved this story, there was so much going on, healing, PTSD, but the way the community pulls together, cares for one another, and works together to protect each other, even Sebastian, was a delight.

I can't wait for Sebastian us story, and was delighted after having Clay on the edge of other stories for him to move center stage.

I read Midlife Bear Protector in Kindle unlimited and chose to share my thoughts.

I've loved every one of these stories in this series so far, especially because they feature the over 40 crowd that's so often overlooked. We all deserve 2nd chances at love and even though the stories have shifters in the dynamic and a special culture of their own, it just adds spice to the story. It's still about Clay, who doesn't believe he deserves a 2nd chance, that he's too angry and violent; and Elowen who is trying to start over scared to trust, until she meets Clay. I loved it. It's sweet, steamy, romantic, has a little danger to spice things up and tick all the boxes for a great read! Bravo!.

Midlife Bear Protector is Book 6 of the Bear Mates Over Forty series by Aline Ash. I love this series. Each book just compliments the rest. Aline Ash has such wonderful talent. Clay is a single father who used to fight for a living and seems lost and alone. Elowen comes to Greenacre with her two children to escape an abusive relationship. They find each other and help each other heal. They become friends with a wolf that is being guarded by Clay. Together they form a family, along with the whole community of Greenacre. I highly recommend this book to all paranormal romance readers.

Elowen has finally returned to her home town but not for a visit. She's home to lick her wounds. Her best friend helps her find another job across the country. She arrives in the small town to run the local restaurant. She has her two children with her. After a few weeks she's told that the town and surrounding area are full of shifters. Then the worse thing...her ex shows up and is drunk. Clay is a bear who is protective by nature. He fights himself. When his eyes meets Elowen it's like electricity between them. Then he senses danger and goes to get between Elowen and her ex. Now he's got his babysitting duties for a lone wolf and whatever it is between him and her.
Fantastic story about two people who don't feel they deserve anything or anyone.

I really like this book. Clay finding his fated mate in a human woman was ironic when his ex wife was human and his clan never excepted her, but now they're more excepting than before yet she's still not allowed on clan land.
Elowen got her children away from an unstable parent and tried to make a better life for them is commendable. She a strong woman yet kind and caring.
Great characters, tear jerking drama, friendships, fated mates, family, community, little danger, and a happily-ever-mated.

Family and friends unite in this story, offering unwavering support. The concept of fated mates adds a touch of destiny to the romance. The presence of adorable children and moments of danger keep the plot engaging. The book concludes with a satisfying happily-ever-after, leaving readers hints for the next installment.

Midlife Bear Protector

Clay has so much emotional luggage to put up with. He was driving the vehicle the crashed and caused his sister's amnesia, he's trying to be a good father and worst of all, he's the guard in charge of a snarky, cynical and rude wolf shifter who tried to ruin both packs. To top it all off, he saves a woman who turns out to be his fated mate. He becomes a better man, father, mate and befriends the wolf shifter AND gets a HEA.

Repeated Fear

Elowen took her two kids and left her alcoholic, abusive husband. She even has a restraining order against him, but he keeps showing up. Each time, his behavior is worse than before.
Clay never thought that he would find someone who loved him again for who he was. His marriage with Glendy had ended. When he meets Elowen, he realizes that she is his mated. His world is turned upside down, in a good way.

Another great story in this series! Elowen moves to Greenacre which is a shifter town with her two children. She is welcomed by all and even finds a man who she starts to have feelings for. It's nice to see that Clay finds love with Elowen. He's also showing that he can care for his family and fellow shifters as well as his mate. When Elowen's alcoholic ex husband shows up multiple times, even with a restraining order, both Clay's clan and the Greenacre shifters all stand up for her. This story has steamy romance, action and some unexpected results.

Waves of emotion

I love the way every few pages your emotions change! The storyline drags you in. Transfixed on each characters' issues as they all come together to take you on their journey. The strength of the female characters and how they support their men is needed in these times. No frill and fanciness just support and team work.

Alcoholic Spouse Abuse

Am new to Aline Ash shifter books and not sure I want to follow her because I am not entertained by spousal abuse and\or women losing everything and has a struggle to start over from scratch. It seems to be the ongoing thread in her books. Also am not a fan of cliff hangers. On the flip side she has talent and a great imagination.

Falling All Over Again

There was a lot of emotional damage in this book but it was handled with care. The action was exciting as well, especially the passion scenes. Sebastian was my favorite character in this book even with his sarcastic remarks. Excellent reading as always.

I'm so happy that Clay found Elowen. He was a serious broken soul that needed someone to give him a reason to heal. And she was running from an abusive ex. And could really use someone to support her emotionally and protect her. Even though the book was about them finding each other I can't help but feel heartbreak for a Sebastian and everything he had went through. I can't wait for his book I know Steph is the girl for him.

This was a wonderful story. Glendy had just finalized her divorce and ends up moving to a new location with her 4 year old daughter, Emma. After they move with the clan Emma ends up missing. Thaddius, a recluse loner bear, finds Emma and returns her to her mother. They both feel something when they meet. I loved the characters as they had great chemistry. The storyline is good with some drama, danger, surprises, great situation and plenty of steam. Loved how they all worked as a team. Entertaining fun story.
