17% and the FMC self doubt is starting to get really repetitive and annoying. It would have been fine if it was here and there but no lie it is in every chapter that’s her pov, somewhere. And if it’s not her then it’s one of the guys asking her if she’s ok. Ughhhh enough already….

At 33% need to put on hold…..the self doubt is killing me still.

There was sooo much repetition of information, feelings and theories. And NOT from the previous book, from this book. We would get one new piece of information, and then we would get two people also coming to that same conclusion and mentally telling us how they felt about it.

There was very little dialogue and so so much telling and not showing.

I was bored. There was too much vagueness and not enough showing.

So disappointed

Honesty felt like a fill book. Nothing actually happened and waste of time. Series started strong and had a great cliffhanger on the first book however 2nd book total disappointment.

With a little over a year between book one and book two, I have to admit it took me a little while to really feel the storyline again when I started "Renegade Kings". Luckily things started to come back gradually, but quickly, maybe because I truly loved the first book in this series and I've always been curious to find out what would happen next to these characters in Nymeria. A big part of this second book revolves around discovering and learning about their growing powers, but also about relying on each other and believing in the bonds between Alyssa and her men.

At the end of book one, I wasn't sure which men in Alyssa's life would become her life partners and which of them would remain side characters. This becomes a lot more clear in the second book, with one massive twist at the end of this book I didn't expect at all. I have to admit Rhyder might be my favorite guy in Alyssa's harem. I love the mix of vulnerability and power in his personality, and he definitely touched something in me.

As a nice little extra, I really enjoy the worldbuilding in this fantasy series, and discovering the world of Nymeria alongside these characters held some of my highlights while reading this book. Add a bit of action and suspense to the storyline, and you've got yourself a very interesting and captivating second book in the Nymerian Rebels series. I'm happy the author mentioned a promise we wouldn't have to wait another year for book three, because she got me invested in these characters once again!

Nymerian Rebels is an ongoing RH, paranormal romance series featuring (fated) mates, magic, shifters, war, suspense, and of course spice. As of now, there are 2 books out (with GORGEOUS covers, I must say), with a third scheduled for 2025, I believe, which makes me very sad after the cliffhanger in the second book (it wasn't that bad in the grand scheme of cliffhangers, but my brain needs to know what happens!!). Anyway, I came across this series on instagram and was immediately intrigued by the excerpt I read. Alyssa is pretty bada** and her character development throughout the first two books is *chef's kiss*. She overcomes a lot of fears and anxiety surrounding her trauma and refuses to let others suffer just because she doesn't want to face the past. Her guys also have some really nice development that was starting to show more towards the ending of the second book, mainly Dean and Ryder, but they are all great as far being her support system at times when it would be easier to leave her to her own devices. I really can't wait to see where the story goes after the way Renegade Kings ended. Please Renegade Kingdom, come soon!!

Book two was another great read! It did take a little while to get back into the plot after waiting a year between book one and this one but it didn't disappoint. This book definitely was more action packed with the development of Alyssa's magic, her past and her lovers. We get to see more development with Damon and the guys, I'm interested to see that further in the third book.

This book leaves you wanting more and wanting to know what happens next! It doesn't leave itself on a harsh cliffhanger, just enough to keep you invested in the next book. I really can't wait to see what happens next with Alyssa and her men!

C j Cooke does it again. From the opening page, you fall right back to where we left Alyssa and the others and it feels as though no time has passed and other books haven't been read in between. Lyssa has a lot to deal with in this one and lots to learn but with the support of her men and fizzle- in his own way- she gets stuff done. The world building that CJ Cooke is so good at continues through this book and the characters get better and better too. I was impatient for this second installment and now I'm even more impatient for the next because that ending was WHAT??!!!

DNF’d at 60% because absolutely nothing was progressing and the same thing happened every. Single. Chapter.
So long winded.
No character development and the FMC got so boring and had the personality of a wet blanket. after being proclaimed so amazing and interesting and powerful the only thing she did was complain and act confused about everything. I would have DNF’d at 10% but was hoping the book got better. It didn’t sadly.

With it having been a year since the first book, I was amazed at how quickly I was able to get back into the story line and remember where the previous book had left off. Returning to Nymeria has its challenges as all is not as Alyssa expects it to be from her memory. And as the story progresses, so does her relationships with the men. The ending leaves you wondering what will happen next.

So much is happening!

The first half of this book is great. But the second half? It had me on the edge of my chair. So much happens, some good, some horribly bad.

Edge of my seat

This series is spicy, juicy, sad and horrible. But I still love it! The character development is so on point with reality, you can get lost. I am excited to see how this series continues and unfortunately ends. So good, it's just so good.

We enter back into the world of Nymeria, and she does not disappoint. Magic is wild and should be kept that way, yet everyone wants control. Nymeria is going to take back what she gave if no one is careful. Full of half prophies, half truths, and potential betrayals, book two will leave you with so many ups and downs, you won't know what to do with yourself. The cliff hanger at the end will get you as well. If cliffhangers are not your thing, before a series is completed, then you might want to wait.

Well...I'm grateful that it's not a big cliffie but that one little thing definitely makes it one. I have so many questions! The main one being when's the next one out.

I don't know what to say, I think the next book is going to be even more action packed than this one. This one had a couple of shock moments I certainly wasn't expecting.

It was nice to see Alyssa solidify her relationship with the guys, Deans my favourite, who can resist a big softy who doubles as a total grump. Can't wait to see the guys come into their own.

I have some theories I expect to happen, there's stuff that I can't figure out and I know I'm going to have to keep guessing... but I can't wait for the answers. Oh what a tangled web she weaves. I can't wait to see what happens next.

I'm so excited about this series!
