Dallas & Georgia

Rate this book
Dallas and Georgia have been best friends since birth. Every summer they reunite when Georgia and her mom make the fourteen-hour drive to stay with Dallas and his family. Each summer brings on new, not always parent approved adventures, and every year they grow closer and closer together.

This summer everything changes.

At seventeen years old Dallas and Georgia realize staying best friends might not be where the future is taking them.

After a night of regrets, they're forced to volunteer at the local retirement center for the summer. There they meet an elderly resident of Bar Harbor and through her hilarious and rather blunt life lessons, they're taught the meaning of true love.

Is this enough for them to take the leap into something more? Most importantly, what will happen if they do?

Disclaimer: this is a YA novel, and I am well outside its target audience.

Caution: this is NOT a standalone novel.

I wish I'd stopped sooner than 64% and skipped to the end, because I hate the ending.

Okay normally I don’t add my silly kindle unlimited romance books but I think this one deserves it. It was so cute and I liked how the characters were written. Do I think they were written super well? No. But it worked with the casual and conversational style of the book. There is also a sequel that I will be reading and I NEVER read second books of KU series. Now that I think about it this book is very wattpadesque and I think that’s why I like it. It was nostalgic.

Oh man! Another great read from Sarah Forester Davis! The story was such a tear jerker and I was emotionally invested. These two best friends since birth spend every summer together. One summer at 17, they both decided they’ve always been something more to each other…ugh! Beautiful and sweet romance that just hits you in your core (or at least my core).

Summary & Thoughts: These two young people learn (deep) life lessons from an elderly woman they meet while volunteering at the retirement home. This woman’s story is so incredible and rich with so much wisdom and love…I cried…you’ll probably cry too (sorry but you’ve been warned) buuuut there are happy abs funny moments that outweigh these characters pain. So please check this book out, I will say that I wish we could’ve gotten an epilogue to tie the abrupt ending a little better but still very good. I’m just an epilogue “where are they now” type of gal 🤷‍♀️ sue me. Hahaha okay enjoy!!

Wow Such A Great Book

This book is so enjoyable from start to finish. This is a feel good book for anyone who reads it. I enjoyed the characters and loved all their quirks and selves. Sarah Davis you have a talent that many author never reach. I can't wait for the sequel to read.

Overall Dallas & Georgia was pretty interesting considering it was written by a small author. It didn’t have much of a plot, just random things happening which is okay for me. Most of the characters weren’t written that great. The moms are very immature and encourage their kids to be bad (drinking together, being “proud of them” for smoking pot at 13? That’s not “cool parenting”), and all the teenagers are written as alcoholics who can “never stay out of trouble”. It’s corny but I just went along with it. The book had a lot of cringy and unrealistic moments and phrases. Like that one “we are Dallas and Georgia” phrase over and over again, or everyone clapping when they kissed… after Dallas confronted her singer ex from the crowd… bro.

Those phrases at the end of each flashback chapter being Dallas’ words to Georgia when she was in a coma was so clever. She basically had a recap of her life while asleep, it surprised me, I love how the author did that.

Near the end of the book was extremely cliche and the cliffhanger surprised me. I like that it leaves hope, but it would be more impactful if it ended with Dallas and Georgia at least seeing each other. Like she opens her eyes and they reunite, that ending would leave a bigger impression on me and would make me want to read part 2.

I really loved this story. It’s a bit unique.
Dallas and Georgia’s moms are best friends. Neither of their dads are in the picture.
Every summer Georgia and her mom drive to Bar Harbor to spend the summer with Dallas’s family.

You get to see Dallas and Georgia go from friends to lovers. They’re known for getting themselves into plenty of trouble. After one party that gets them in trouble they take on a job at a local nursing home. They befriend an old lady who shares beautiful life lessons while checking off her bucket list.

Sarah writes this in a unique way as well. But by the end it will all make sense. I was actually content with the way this book needed but Sarah does let you know that their story is not over and a sequel will becoming. I will definitely be reading it when it comes out. 🥰

I received an early copy of this book and read it in 12 hours. I love all of Sarah Forester Davis's books, but this one might be my new favorite. The love you see between Dallas and Georgia is beautiful, but also the love you see from his brothers and their moms makes the story that much better. And Gwen, no spoilers, but it hit me hard. And of course, Sarah leaves you with your heart in pieces and questioning if there will be a sequel. This is the new Summer I turned pretty but with the twists and heart pounding moments that only Sarah knows how to deliver. Bravo on another amazing read!

I received an ARC of Dallas & Georgia earlier this week and couldn't put it down. Swoooooon. That is all I can say about Dallas and Georgia as they navigate going from best friends to more. Georgia's flashbacks as you see how their relationship has changed every summer were perfect in between each few chapters. Dallas is everything. And so are his brothers. This book hit all my emotions. I laughed, I got frustrated, I cried, and of course the ending had me all over the place. Sarah's an instant buy for me, and Dallas & Georgia is definitely a 5 star read!!!!

I-
This was a beautiful story of resilience and love. Georgia and Dallas bringing a peaceful end to Gwen’s life was so full circle, but DID YOU REALLY HAVE TO RIP MY HEART OUT???? I knew it was coming- let me rephrase- I knew SOMETHING was coming, but when she was okay after her run it was like a breath of fresh air. Until you did that to me. And then ???? “If you’re looking for an epilogue” YES IM LOOKING FOR AN EPILOGUE???? I loved this book and I know I will love the sequel as well. Also if possible can I get Whitney and Finn, Ace, and Lillian and Bridget’s stories as well? TIA!

Ahh-Mazing ❤️❤️❤️

Sarah has done it again and if it's even possible she has made me fall in love with Dallas and Georgia more than any other story I've read. I thought I loved Eva and Bodhi then she made me love Hazel and Killian. To which I have a special connection with, but then she slams you right in the heart with Dallas and Georgia. You definitely won't regret picking this book up.

Lifelong friends to love- amazing read.
Dallas and Georgia are born to be best friends, because their mom's have been best friends forever.
They spend their summers together at the beach at Dallas' family home. Dallas has 2 crazy brothers, both mom's are single moms. I loved the family dynamics and everything about this book.
I wish there would have been an epilogue, but it was so good and so many feels.

From the very beginning, I love Dallas and Georgia (the characters and the book!) I couldn't put it down and read the entire book in an evening. I definitely got into my feels and teared up a couple of times.
The foreshadowing had me on edge that SOMETHING major was going to happen. I kept waiting and waiting... And then the ending felt rushed. I was expecting to be broken and to bawl (which I love from a book.)

Didn’t really care for “the ending”

It doesn’t really feel like an ending and there is no sequel yet. If I would have known that I would not have read this book. I did like the book and the characters were great but it did drag a little at times.
