Cliff thinks he’s too tough for love and too mean for a mate, but he has a lot to learn about the way the Fates work.

Cliff doesn’t know who his parents were—he was created in an in vitro lab run by shifters with devious plans. He’s found out a few things, but nothing prepares him for the changes coming his way when he decides to break into the clinic to search for information. What should have been a simple break-in turns into a rescue from hell and two dead shifters. To top it off, the clinic catches on fire and Cliff loses all chance of finding anything there.

But the Fates are fickle, and Cliff is one of their favourite shifters to screw around with. He’s snarky, and mean, and smart, which oddly enough endears him to them.

Not that he’d believe it when they send him a mate. Cliff doesn’t want a mate. And he sure doesn’t want the magnificent and powerful man he’s destined to be with. That’s what he keeps telling himself, and maybe he’ll eventually believe it.

When he’s promised the opportunity to break the mate bond if he really wants it, that sounds like a deal. So why doesn’t he jump on it? He doesn’t know, and both he and his mate might not survive long enough to figure out what it is Cliff really wants.

Hunted and hunter, he and his mate are both.

A few things about me...

I am a married mom of four who spends most of the day writing, either on stories or at the blog. I love to write as much as I love to read. I am generally quiet and laid back, choosing to let things slide off me rather than stick and irritate me.

And it's really hard trying to think of descriptives for myself, so I'll just let y'all e-mail me or comment at the blog if there's something specific you'd like to know, and spare you from reading a boring bio:D

First review of 2014 AND first GR review of this book.. yay

This was a somewhat fun, sexy, powerful (characters) book to read. Cliff meets his match in his mate. He who shall remain unnamed... i know that's sooo wrong.. but my first guesses were correct I'm just not going to confirm that for anyone who's not read it yet.

For all that Cliff is portrayed as super powerful mojo and all, he gets a little slap and tickle (without the tickle) from the Fates to knock him down a peg or two. While Mate is a big deal and powerful in own right, he does make Cliff look kind of ... bad? no not that but like a child learning his craft and not quite there yet? I just felt like Cliff was... Less.

As far as Cliff fighting the mating.. well we don't want immediate capitulation or easy now do we? The fact that though we have a bit of foreplay and time to come to grips before getting to the goodies with several interruptions and revelations on the way...

As suspected of the possible relationship between Cliff and Emmett.. I did NOT get closer on this. I wanted to see this explored and revelations happen but noooo.. perhaps to be explored more in the next book? Plus the possibilities from the consequences of learning more about mulit-shifter parent conception.. I don't know.. this may be more to chew off then can be be delivered.. only time will tell

It seems like forever that I've been waiting for Cliff's story. 'Cliff' is the twelfth and final book in Bailey Bradford's 'Leopard's Spots' series and I'm happy and sad at the same time. Happy to finally get the story of the guy who captured my attention many books back, but sad because this is the finale and there will be no more. However, I was dying to get the answers to the in-vitro fertilization issue that the author introduced in the previous installment, so this book was a complete win-win for me.

Cliff. The shifter everyone thinks is psycho. The shifter who has been helping all along to rid their world of the evil out to destroy it. The shifter who was created in a lab, born to a human mother, he is stronger and faster than others, he possesses a third form, and he works for the Fates. Remus. The most powerful shaman the shifters have. He is gentle, wise, strong and peaceful. He is also Cliff's mate. Uh-oh. *grins* Remus knows the Fates have intervened for why else would the mate bond have begun when he and Cliff had not actually ever met? Why would they have paired two such different people together? Remus only knows he needs to find Cliff for he is injured after the clinic was destroyed and Remus must go to him.

Watching Cliff and Remus go after the bad guys was hot. Watching them together was blazing. It was exciting to see them vanquish the mastermind behind all of this evil and, even more, to watch them work as a seamless unit in doing it. I was glad those bastards got what they deserved for having stolen eggs and sperm from shifters and implanted litters in human women who had no idea it was happening. The fact that Cliff came from a large litter where the doctors only kept one and killed all of the rest, including almost killing Cliff, was super sad. He survived his birth and his years with abusive humans in foster care to turn out to be a good man.

Thank you, Bailey, for this wonderful finale to the series. I so enjoyed Cliff's story and I'm super glad that Remus got a much deserved happy ever after with a man strong enough for him. I will miss these guys.

I skimmed a lot while reading this book. Maybe if I'd been more into the whole experiment and shifters want to take over the world while being cruel and evil plot I would have enjoyed this book. But I didn't, and unfortunately even the characters didn't help.

Cliff, who I always thought would be like Bobby, has a lot of emotional baggage. He had a hard life and is extremely bitter and angry about it which is why he doesn't want a mate and why he's such an ass all the time (especially to Remus in the beginning), but he gets over it quickly thanks to the mate bond and the urge to have sex. He also acts crazy stupid in the beginning, I know he was wounded and not thinking straight but he was acting stupid and suicidal and I just wanted to punch him. Remus is a little better, I like how calm he was, but he did some stupid things too, like leaving his bag of herbs behind at least twice when he needed it (frankly why he left it in the car is beyond me but anyway). And then there was that whole thing with Mark that left me feeling empty, I just didn't care.

One of my favorite things about series is that I get to see bonds between friends and family. I mistakenly thought that Emmett and Cliff would finally talk about things and maybe see where their relationship goes from there (I also thought maybe there would be closure to Emmett and Sabin's story line (Emmett tells parents truth, Sabin finds out if he has any kids out there, etc)), but nope that didn't happen. Cliff had some self loathing thoughts about how Emmett would never want a brother like him and that was it. At least Remus talks to his son and eventually Cliff gets to meet Remus' family and pack.

For the last (?) book in the series I'm disappointed, but mostly because it continues that story line I hated from the previous book and makes it even more frustrating. I hope I like Bailey Bradford's next book better.

I absolutely loved 'Cliff'. This cracked me up: “It’s my precious,” Cliff said in his best creepy voice. “I am going to love it and pet it and call it Richard.”

LOL, I had flashbacks to Hugo the Abominable Snowman. I can't tell you how pleased I was to see how Cliff's mate was. ;) Great book with wonderful detail--a must read.

This is a book 12 in this series but I followed along just fine. Just in case you’re interested; here is the link to the other books and reading order. https://www.totallybound.com/index.ph...
I absolutely loved the characters and the entire story. There is enough backstory and information that kept me pretty well clued in and yet made me want to read the other books too. This is a prime example of a great storyteller; to be able to write a book so far into a series that is easy to read on its own, yet draw the reader to the rest of their works. Caution; the excerpt at the end does the same, be prepared to go buy another series along with these other 11.
Cliff is such a fun story to read. He is a very headstrong and snarky character. I absolutely loved him. Remus is just about as good. Not Cliff’s polar opposite. In fact, he is also very independent, stubborn and both men are very toppy and dominate. The Fates did good mating these two. I liked how the story began with a prologue of the fates and they were strewn in throughout the story. It added a touch of charm and humour also.
Cliff was a loner and his reputation of being a fearsome killer and loose cannon preceded him. Remus on the other hand was a revered Shaman with lots of power. A man to be honoured as well as feared. Did I mention he had been married to women with grown sons? Yes, those fates gave us a fun mating here!
Not only are the characters intriguing and witty, the story continues on a mystery of Cliffs lineage, a fertility clinic making illegal shifters and lots of deception.
Add all this mystery and intrigue to the banter and chase of these two men, and some very hot and heavy, rough, man-sex. This is one heck of a good book. Get a copy and see for yourself! Oh! I almost forgot! Cliff is not only a wolf shifter but also a leopard shifter! Cool Huh?
To wrap it all up: if you like shifters, werewolves, leopards, Shamans, power, mystery intrigue, Fates, an unlikely mating, very hot, rough man-sex this book is for you!

I really liked this series from Bailey Bradford. Most of the books in the series was fun, sexy and a pleasure to read. We have met both Cliff and Remus in previous books (separate, of course!), and both are interesting and powerful in their own way. I was delighted that they were going to be paired up, and couldn't wait for their story. ...And I was disappointed. Maybe because I had such high hopes.

First, let me talk about what I liked:
**Remus and Cliff are original characters, with unique personalities that is a joy to get to know better.
**It was interesting to see their interaction with one another.

What I did not like:
---Although the previous books in this series had very sexy times, I did not feel the sexual attraction between Remus and Cliff. Their sexual chemistry is more inert gas than explosive compounds. And they do dumb stuff that is totally inconsistent with the bad-ass character they are supposed to be.
--- The semi - religious acts and rituals made me uncomfortable. Praying to the fates? Really? I know Remus is a shaman and it is to be expected that he will be more spiritual, but this is just preposterous.
--- Remus could change into two different animal forms. This is not utilize effectively at all, and so much more could be done with it.
--- In the end, the main villain was some guy we as readers have never even heard of before. Major anti-climatic.

So to sum up - It was not a bad book, I just wished for more.

Some frustrating chronological issues as far as the overall series (example mentioning a side character's mate who he doesn't get with until a book which takes place *after* this pair is a couple), and the extremely abrupt end to the story arc that manages to simultaneously tie everything into a neat "all the bad guys die" bow... while still leaving enormous gaping plot holes... most frustrating. Almost like the author was just bored with the characters.

But all that aside, the book still has some good moments and is overall enjoyable.

I been waiting for this book. Feenin for another more delicious glimpse of Cliff. I'm glad I had no idea my Husbie was paired with Remus. This books was straight fucking perfection. Did not disappoint on Cliff's snark and attitude and sexiness, and to see Remus in a different light? A sexy, downright dirtier light? Priceless.
