CareerCoach Rene Suhardono kembali merilis buku, yang juga seri kedua dari #UltimateU. Berisi kompilasi artikelnya di harian Kompas, “Your Journey To Be The Ultimate U – 2” masih membahas tema besar, passion.
Seperti pendapat Prof. Komaruddin Hidayat dalam pengantarnya, Rene selalu mengajak pembacanya untuk berpikir ulang tentang ‘siapa aku’. Di mata Rene, renungan tersebut menjadi sangat bermakna, yaitu mengetahui potensi apa yang kita miliki, dan bagaimana jalan mengembangkannya, sehingga layak disebut passion.
Sebagai salah satu elemen vital dalam perjalanan karier, passion harus melibatkan tujuan hidup, values, ketercapaian, dan kebahagiaan.
Passion harus ditemukan oleh setiap pribadi karena sesungguhnya lentera jiwa tersebut sudah ada dalam diri sendiri, yang berhubungan dengan tujuan hidup seseorang.

Isinya menarik. Dan sampai sabtu kemarin Om Rene masih aktif menulis kolom Ultimate U di Kompas. Salut!

This is kind of book for contemplation. Rene invites us to use our feelings and our minds for each chapter. He wants us to know our meaning of life.
One of my favorite lesson is about buying experience, not goods such as travelling, taste a new or unique foods, attending to a seminar. Besides that, here are points that I learnt from this book:
1. Workaholic = working hard without meaning because workaholic often create more problems than solution (it makes your soul get burn out). So, makes every hours better.
2. How to live this moment
3. Never work for somebody you don't respect
4. The only one motivator is you
5. Focus is not about limiting yourself, it is about empowering yourself. So, it is okay if you have many different jobs as long as you like it and makes you empowered.
6. Clarity is the power. Think and speak clearly now. Say godd or bad, do not say quite good, not bad.
7. Your time is limited. Do not waste it by living on somenone else' life
8. Get a life, not a job
9. Power = having the choice to say no
10. Think less, feel more
Another aspects that I love from this book are:
1. Straight to the point for each chapter, so the readers will not get bored.
2. Many reflective questions. Feels like the writer is talking to his readers directly, not feels like reading a book.
3. Many inspiring figures and movements.

Buku kedua dari seri Ultimate U. Walau sudah 7 tahun berlalu, buku ini masih tetap enak dinikmati.
Masih seputar pekerjaan, passion tapi juga tentang hal-hal kecil soal perubahan, kemacetan, keluarga, waktu dan masih banyak hal lain yang diceritakan dalam buku ini. Seperti baca esai sih memang.
Coach ReneCC memang luwes sekali menuliskan banyak hal, saya tetap suka sejak bukunya terdahulu hingga sekarang. Terlebih hal-hal kecil bisa bermakna besar pesannya dalam buku ini, tapi saya harus bilang saya lebih suka buku pertama. Dari sisi isi buku, buku pertama lebih padat menurut saya.
Di buku kedua ini, saya cuma melihat warna peach, berbeda dengan buku pertama yang lebih cerah warnanya. Saya menantikan buku ReneCC walau bukan seri Ultimate U, kali aja coach mau bikin kumpulan esai gitu.

Setiap baca tulisannya Rene (meski baru beberapa kalimat), saya selalu mengangkat kepala sambil menerawang. Mencerna setiap kalimatnya yang saya elaborasi dengan mempertanyakannya pada hidup saya. Buku ini masih selalu mengingatkan bahwa ‘your job is not your career’ dan ‘get a life, not just a job.’ Selain itu ada banyak pemikiran-pemikiran sederhana Rene yang sangat empowering your self. Buku ini rasanya tidak pernah expired untuk dibaca.

Suka sekali dengan isinya. Banyak pembelajaran menarik yang dapat diambil. Meskipun Om Rene hanya bercerita lewat pengalamannya, tapi banyak hal yang pembahasannya dekat sekali

Karena buku ini saya langsung memutuskan menjadi seorang penulis, walaupun baru nulis di blog. Tapi buku ini punya kekuatan yang dasyat kalau kita benar-benar membaca dan menghidupi setiap kolom. Nilai-nilainya sederhana tetapi benar-benar diperlukan bagi banyak orang yang mulai salah fokus dalam hidupnya.
