Love can play tricks on your heart… After serving several years in the United States Marine Corps, Sergeant Tucker Patton decides to hang up his uniform and go to work at a private investigative firm owned by his buddy. His boxes are packed and he’s got one foot out the door when a phone call changes everything.

Instead of going to North Carolina, he heads to New York City to literally step into the life of his twin brother, who died under suspicious circumstances. But pretending to be someone else isn’t easy.

Especially when the person you’re supposed to be is wanted dead.
Not only that, but he’s going from being blissfully single to living with his brother’s woman. An uptight, no-nonsense lawyer.

Charlotte Rose Carter doesn’t have time for fun and games. She graduated with honors and made all the right moves fresh out of college to jumpstart her career as a successful young lawyer. She even snagged the most eligible bachelor in New York City’s corporate world.

So what if her and Max’s relationship isn’t burning up the sheets? So what if their life doesn't read like a chapter from a sizzling romance novel? This is the real world, and in the real world that stuff is just fantasy.

Until it isn’t.

Suddenly, just the slightest touch or a single glance from Max has her heart doing somersaults. Suddenly, the lackluster relationship begins to spark, and Charlotte finds herself tied in a knot of desire.

But she has no idea about the tricks being played right under her perky little nose.

“It’s never felt like this before,” she said, her voice a low whisper.
“Darlin’, you haven’t felt anything yet.”

Well, this was definitely my favourite book of the series, and it was actually worth reading the 5 previous books to get to this one!

I really liked Tucker in this book, I mean, he was just dreamy. I mean, my, oh, my, this boy was hot!

“I practically squirmed under his stare, not because I didn’t like it, but because I did.”

And Charlie wasn’t bad either, although I did find it a little odd how long it took her to tell the difference between her boyfriend and his twin brother.

“When did you get the tattoo?” she asked, her voice low and slightly off.

The storyline in this was okay, but it was the romance/sex scenes that made this book enjoyable. I found the storyline where Tucker stepped in and basically took over his brother’s life to be a little unbelievable, and I really wasn’t impressed that he then even took over his brother’s job? Really?

“We need you to step in where Maxwell left off. To assume the identity of your brother.”

Anyway, forget all that, because we actually got really good, steamy, hot, ‘I need to read this twice’, OMG sex scenes! Something that has really been lacking in the previous books in this series, but finally! Finally! Cambria got it right! And boy will I be reading those naughty chapters again!

“Everywhere he touched I felt the kiss of longing. The only thought in my head in that moment was, Don’t stop.”

So I’m going to ignore the unbelievable bits of the storyline, and give 4 stars to super-sexy Tucker, and those naughty little sex scenes. Yay!
8 out of 10

I really wanted to DNF during the first half because I was weirded out by the twin brother thing. I was hoping to find out that the twin was gay and the h hadn’t actually slept with him. That isn’t the case. 🫤 anyway, I was struggling to shake the ick, making it difficult to connect with the MCs. I do think it improved in the 2nd half. I was annoyed by the easy ending though. I wished she’d had to decide on her own to be with the H without permission from the grave. 🙄 And I wish he’d been more vocal about his feelings.

Anyway, this was a decent light read with a badass hero and fun damsel in distress moments. Maybe a little too insta for the circumstances, but definitely better than some of the other books in this series.

I just finished Tricks and I just loved it. You have no idea what this author can do until you read it. I have only had the privilege of reading Text out of the Take It Off series and man I am so going back for more! This story starts off with Max. He was contacted by the FBI for in house espionage and being the honorable man that he is, he accepts but he ends up dying. The FBI gets a hold of Tucker, Max’s identical twin to finish this case. Tucker wanting justice for his brother obliges the FBI and helps. He has to take over Max’s life which includes his work and his girl Charlotte. Charlotte knows something is different but why would she ever think that Max is really Tucker. What starts out as a beautiful relationship even thought there are not any sparks left with Max, turns into a burning passion with Tucker which leaves her utterly confused. What do you think her re-action will be once she finds out who is who? You will have to read and see.

Man, this book had me from the get go. I wasn’t able to put this down and I can tell you that you won’t either. I can say that it flowed really well and it was such an enjoyable read. I really liked Max. I felt really bad for him that his life was cut short but love how there was justice in the end for him. Tucker is freaking hot and I just love how he is such a man whore but once he meets Charlotte, everything is put into perspective for him even though his mind had to eventually catch up to his heart. He was strong, determined and just plain yummy. Charlotte is such a good girl and always wants to please people before she does anything for herself. I just wanted things to come out right for her. The chemistry between them two was on fire. It scorched the pages and just put me in a position where I was begging to be her!

I loved the whole plot and back characters. This can be read stand alone because it only makes a short reference to Nathan and Honor (TEXT) but I am so on this series. Everything about it just calls to me. I can guarantee you will be satisfied reading this. I laughed cried sad tears and happy ones, honestly you have to get this one, you will not regret it.

I always anticipate the next book in the series' release because this series is one of my favourites, so when I saw Blog Tour sign-ups for this book, I quickly signed up and I squealed when I got my ARC! This book was just as amazing as all the other books in the series! It was action-packed, full of suspense and had a seriously hot romance in it! The plot of this book was insane! I was hooked! I just couldn't put it down and I almost finished this book in one sitting, but I didn't want it to end, so I pried it from my unwilling hand and I read the rest the following day! The plot had so much action in it and I couldn't get enough of it! I loved the whole idea of it because it really made me think and it was so climatic! I also adored the romance in it! It was so hot! The main male character was also super horny for most of this book, which kinda made the sex even hotter lol! Was that TMI? ;) The characters were amazing! Charlotte was the main female character and she was brilliant! She was so straight and liked routine, but when she let herself go, she was so funny and she let her hair down and her routine went out the window! I just adored Charlotte! She was so easy for me to connect with and I also loved that she felt guilty for starting something with Tucker when she found out that he was his brother's twin! Charlotte was just pulled into the danger in this book and I kinda felt sorry for her lol! She handled it all brilliantly though and acted the same way I would have if I was put in her position! I also adored her relationship with her Tucker! Tucker was the main male character and he was so hot! Like, SO hot! He was protective, sexy and played guitar! I mean, come on! Isn't he the perfect guy?! I just loved Tucker! His life changed in a matter of hours and he had to take the identify of his twin brother and live his brother's life! Tucker took it in his stride and was determined to avenge his brother's murder, but one thing he didn't expect to find along the way, was love! But he did find love and he was determined to show Charlotte just how much he loved her and just how much they were meant to be together, which was so sweet! I loved that this book was written from both Charlotte and Tucker's point of views! It was definitely essential for what happened in the plot and it also gave more insight into the plot! Plus, I loved getting to see Charlotte and Tucker's feelings for each other develop through both of their eyes! I also loved that Nathan and Honor from the fourth book in this series, Text, were in this book for a little bit of it! I didn't make the connection that Tucker was actually in Nathan's book until it was mentioned in this book lol! I can't wait to read the next book in this series! I'm always desperate to find out what's going to happen and who the book's going to being about! Plus, the excerpt at the end of this book has me desperate for the next book! I probably want it more than any other book right now! The cover for this book is seriously hot! It definitely suits the book as well! I fell completely in love with it as soon as I saw it! Big thank you to Cambria for an ARC of Tricks and to Enticing Journey Book Promotions for having me on the Blog Tour!

not the best, not the worst.

Tucker is leaving for his new job in another state, after leaving the Marine Corps, when he gets a visit from the FBI. They notify him that not only is his brother dead because he was working with them to uncover corporate espionage, but they want him to take his brother's place (since they were twins) to solve the investigation. They fail to notify him, until the last minute, that his brother had a live in girlfriend, Charlotte. Charlotte is a workaholic, but she notices that for the past few dats, her boyfriend seems different...in a good way.

I don't like how the first introduction of us to Tucker was the morning after a hookup. This does not endear me to him, and is not a first good impression. I liked most of the Take it Off series because sexual history was not discussed and we didn't have to face many, if any, past conquests. With this opening, the author is making it like any other New Adult book with a promiscuous male lead, making it unoriginal. We are given a detailed description of the body of a female, not the heroine. This chapter was completely unnecessary. I also didn't like his cynical view on relationships. I liked previous books because the men were all open to relationships, and it was all instalove, and possessiveness. Though I am glad he didn't fight his feelings once he realized he had them. Charlotte was the one with issues, because she felt guilt about her feelings for Tucker, and hiw she jumped right into bed with him. Which at first, was a problem for me, because I thought Tucker took advantage of her situation. But he acknowledged that fact. It would have been better if there was more chemistry and interaction between the characters. Then I might've understood her actions better. But at least he didn't sleep with her when she thought he was Max.

I had some issues with the suspense part. Why did Tucker let the "robbers" go when they were obviously there to do harm? And why did he let the murderer go...just because he was young and "fell in with the wrong crowd?" Murder is murder.

Finally there Is a recognizable link between the Take it off series that I may not have picked up on before in the other books. Nathan and Honor from Text are in here, though their story was not rehashed.

Tucker and Charlotte had unprotected sex. There was no talk of birth control, or STDS beforehand. And with Tucker being promiscuous, that is a bad thing. But of course, nodbody ever has STDs in books, and partners trust each other after knowing each other a few days...witht the word I'm safe....uh like they would admit if they had an STD.

Overall the book was pretty good.

Whoa… Hello Tucker… That is the very first thing that comes to mind when I think of Tricks, by Cambria Hebert. This is one of those books that I read a few months ago, and it’s been sitting on my review queue for awhile now. Does that mean I’ve forgotten anything about it? Heck no! Every time I read a new book in the Take It Off series, I think, that is my favorite one! They keep topping each other though and I couldn’t remotely pick one now. Cambria has a writing style that is all her own. One that I’ve not seen before and anytime I get to read a book of hers, it is a treat.

The best thing about this book, right off the bat, is that the synopsis does an amazing job of letting you know what you’re in for. What you won’t find out from that is the level of chemistry and angst between the main characters. I loved Charlotte, and I adored Tucker. You also meet Tucker first in Text, if you’ve ever read that. It was nice to see him get his own story because he set me on my ear just with the small glimpses you get of him. It’s almost a complete tease.

Not only is this a great romance, but it’s full of intrigue, a bit of mystery, action that will have you flipping pages, but also twists and turns that leave you wanting more. I was engrossed in it myself and as with all of Cambria’s books, I couldn’t put it down.

A full five star rating from me. The story is told from a first person POV between the main characters. I loved the writing, the cover, the content, the characters, and the plot. I can’t find a single thing I did not like. The book is a standalone novel, it does have an HEA and no cliffy. You will find characters in it from Text, but you don’t need to read Text to read Tricks. It’s a definite recommend from me, and it is on my reread list!

This one has been better than the last few.

This was an okay read, but the storyline was a bit unbelievable. I found it really hard to believe that someone could see that their boyfriend had completely changed overnight, but didn't really question it. Especially when the person who's boyfriend had a personality change was a lawyer!

Overall, not brilliant, but the best one in the series for a while.

**ARC Provided by author for an honest review**

Tucker Patton is leaving the Marine Corps after spending several years in and being shipped off to war two times. He has plans to go to South Carolina and work as a PI with a Marine core buddy and his wife. He has never settled down and always just goes from one night stand to the next. He's not your romantic and say pretty things kind of guy. He's a charmer with a girl on each area and irresponsible. He has been distant from his parents and twin brother for several years now. When Tucker is about to take off a black car and 4 FBI agents pull up in his drive needing to speak to him.

Tucker was not prepared at all for what would happen next.
One of the agents informed him that his brother is dead and that he was murdered.

Part of me was gone.

Ripped away.

Empty.

As Tucker was trying to process what the agent just told him about his twin brother. They explained to him that Maxwell was working with them in a corporate espionage and he was there inside man. Tucker was surprised to know that his brother would be part of something like this. His brother was polar opposite of him. He was a straight and narrow path kind of guy. Never strayed from his goals and always hard working. Tucker knew it had to be serious for Maxwell to agree to it. Tucker started to sense that they were there for another reason.

"We need you to step in where Maxwell left off. To assume the identity of your brother."

It didn't take long for Tucker to answer. He and Maxwell were identical twins and he felt the sense of revenge come over him. He wanted the men to pay for what they did to his brother.

"I'll do it"

Tucker is on his way to NYC and being briefed by the FBI about Maxwells life so he will know a little bit more about him and to play his role. He is suppose to find a flash drive that Maxwell hid that will expose the corporate espoinage. Tucker was prepared to get the job done and get justice for his brother. As they drop Tucker off at his brothers apartment they drop a bomb on him. That Maxwell has a girlfriend who lives him.

Charlotte Rose Carter is a successful hard working lawyer. She is very pretty and always gets stereotype for being a blonde. She just made partner at her firm and is proving her spot with them. She has a handsome boyfriend who is successful as well and is her best friend. She is quiet content with their mediocre life. Little did she know that her quiet little world was blowing up In front of her face and things were about to change.

I literally laughed out loud when these two met. It was great! Tucker sneaks into the apartment thinking his "girlfriend" isn't there. Before Tucker knew it he was being tackled to the floor by a woman!

Her legs were bare.

Holy mother of god,she was wearing nothing but a towel.

She was wet. She was mostly naked. She was sitting across my lap.

Tucker couldn't hide his attraction to Charlotte but he promised himself he would not sleep with his brothers girlfriend. He was there to find the flash drive, find the guys who were responsible for killing his brother and then go on with his life in South Carolina.

Charlotte felt a new spark for her boyfriend and was wondering why is she having all these new feelings for him now. She started seeing new changes in him and she liked it!

Tucker is set out playing his role as Maxwell and decides to go to his office to look for this flash drive. As he enters the building people are looking at him like they seen a ghost and are very surprised to see him. This sets off an alarm in Tucker's head that someone Maxwell works with wanted him dead and this flash drive.

Tucker and Charlotte have some run ins with almost being robbed and Charlotte being held at gun point. Tucker realizes that she is in danger now and he needs to do something fast.

Things start getting complicated and Charlotte is starting to think Maxwell is hiding something from her. Tucker is finding it harder and harder to keep his hands off of Charlotte. As things start to heat up between them, Tucker needs to tell Charlotte what's going on.

Once things are revealed Charlotte has break down and cries for hours and telling Tucker how Maxwell was here best friend and she couldn't believe he was gone. Tucker didn't know what to say so he just holds her. She tells Tucker she knew things were off but didn't read much into. She couldn't believe her being a lawyer that she couldn't see through what was happening. Tucker explains to her what he has to do to bring theses guys down and she has to play the part too.

Playing the part was not hard for these two. Charlotte was starting to feel guilty bc every time Tucker touched her or around her she giddy, had butterflies and it felt like she was on fire and he was the only one to put it out! They finally give in and agree to have just one night together, no regrets and Tucker would finish the job and leave.

"This isn't going to be like the last time. I'm not going to take my time with you. I want you too badly. I want you here. Now."

Their one night of romance was erotic. Tucker was an animal! Charlotte had never had sex in so many ways and so many places! She was so use to scheduling sex for Saturdays. Lol
She realizes that her relationship with Maxwell was never exciting and she never felt these feelings she had before with him. She also felt guilty to even compare him to his brother. She was starting to think it was a mistake and she didn't know what to do. So she started to distant herself.

Tucker couldn't believe he has the best sex ever with Charlotte. He knew he was feeling more because he cuddled her afterwards and found himself do things he never does after having sex with a woman. He didn't care anymore. He wanted to protect, cherish and worship her. She got under his skin. Tucker knew he shouldn't be doing these things with brothers gf but he has never felt this way before about a woman.

Tucker starts to pick up that Charlotte is distancing herself from him. He assumes she doesn't feel the connection they had. He chalks it's up and continues to try and find this flash drive so he can finish this and leave and she won't have to see him again.

Charlotte and Tucker end up finding the flash drive but it wasn't going to end that easily. As soon as they find it they are captured and held hostage by the men who killed Maxwell. Tucker does everything he can to protect her and seeing her be hu by these guys just adds fuel to his fire. He ends up taking a bullet for her. Seeing him being shot brought all her feelings for him up. While all this is going on the FBI finally show up. Tucker is rushed to the hospital. Charlotte is freaking out because she can't believe he took a bullet for her and she was not sure if he's going to okay.

I'm going to stop there. So you MUST read it now to find out how it ends!:)

This book was awesome! I was hooked! It had suspense, romance, tragedy. It was a great story! I was a little hesitant when Charlotte jumped in the sack with Tucker. I was like you can't sleep with his brother! That's just wrong!
By the end of the book I felt a little relieved. You will understand once you read it!
I also enjoyed the epilogue!

This was my first book to read out of the he Take Off series. This is Book 6 and they can all be read as a standalone! I can't wait to read more books by Cambria Hebert!

My rating: 5 of 5 ⭐️

Ex US Marine, Tucker Patton, on his way home from an anonymous one night stand, is intercepted on his doorstep with news that shakes him to his core. His twin brother Max, whom he had not seen in quite some time, had apparently been killed while involved in some kind of investigation. Being an identical twin, Tucker could quite easily take his place and find out what and who got his brother murdered. But no one bothered to tell him, that when taking over his brother's life, he would also be taking on his live-in girlfriend....

With her life working out according to plan, Charlotte Carter could not complain. She was steadily climbing the ladder at her law firm and life with Max was.....well, it was comfortable and good. They didn't see each other that often, since both were working all hours of the day and night, but they got along really well and had the same drive and dedication. Surely passion was overrated. But something has changed since Max came home unexpected, she can't stop watching him.

Whatever caused the change has Charlotte quite worked up. Every gesture, look or touch of his sets off a response in her body unlike anything she has experienced before. But it isn't until she gets a glimpse through an open bathroom door, that she realizes something is very wrong.

Tucker did not expect his brother's uptight girlfriend to harbour such a simmering fire under that buttoned up exterior. Nor did he expect to respond to her with such a fierce and protective need. Knowing he had put himself and possibly Charlotte in danger only fuelled his instincts to stay as close to her as possible, but it made keeping her in the dark difficult.

In a decision to share whatever information he has, Tucker leaves Charlotte shocked and torn between guilt and happiness.

*****

I swear the books in this series keep getting better and better!!

Each book is easily read as a standalone and although there are brief references to characters or events from previous stories, they do not have any true impact on the current book.

Cambria Hebert once again reaches a fantastic balance between a scorching hot romance and a wickedly sleek suspense novel. Add to it a dollop of heart-felt emotion, and you have the recipe for a fabulous page-turner!!

Tucker is absolutely scrumptious from tip to toe..... A 'bad boy' with morals and principles, who simply has never met the right woman to make him even think of more than a passing fancy. Until Charlotte, who is absolutely everything he never thought he'd ever want.
Living according to a well-planned out script, created to achieve maximum approval, Charlotte is intent on doing everything right. But she never really stops to think what it is she wants. She simply assumed those things were one and the same. Until Tucker shows her that she has had blinders on for most of her life and too much has been left unexplored.

The contrast in characters and yet the perfection of their fit, is phenomenal. Both are intelligent enough not to let first impressions rule their opinions of the other for too long and discover a treasure of depth and context hidden underneath the thin layer of initial observation.

Ms. Hebert's writing becomes more smooth and easy with each subsequent book, flowing so natural and effortless, it is a pleasure to read. Although sexual tension is present throughout the story, sexual situations don't overcrowd it but enhance the intriguing tale. And most importantly, the actual story line that brings the two protagonists together is not forgotten at any time, in favour of the developing romance, something that unfortunately I see happen all too often. Ms. Hebert stays true to and follows through on the full scope of the story, which gives us some high intensity action as well.

Even if you have read any of the previous books in this series, read this one! It is absolutely worth it!

✨This is sharp, steamy, sensational romantic suspense!!✨

Tricks is my first read from Cambria Hebert’s Take It Off Series, but it definitely will not be the last. If all of them include the perfect mix of suspense and smut like this one, I am for sure going to have to move them up on my TBR list.

As soon as the Prologue started, I was hooked. I wanted and needed to know how it was all going to turn out. After Tucker’s twin brother, Max, is murdered, Sgt. Tucker Patton must assume his brother’s identity and retrieve the information for the FBI that his brother was working to get. As long as Tucker can get revenge for Max’s murder, he is willing to help, but what he doesn’t count on is his brother’s straight laced attorney girlfriend, Charlotte, getting under his skin and worming her way into his heart.

Charlotte has lived with Max for over a year, but he has never made her feel the way she has since the moment Tucker became Max. Charlotte’s career has always been first; she worked hard to get where she’s at, and she can only hope she has made her father proud of her. She always thought her life was how she wanted it to be until Tucker came and turned it upside down. Their attraction is palpable; he makes her step out of her organized box and live a little; soon, Charlotte realizes that she likes this new version of Max a lot better than the old. But once Charlotte learns the truth, will she be able to see past Tucker’s “tricks” and give into how she feels about this version of Max?

Tricks has it all – romance, suspense, and all kinds of twists and turns along the way that are not only due to the dual life that Tucker is living but also due to his interaction and feelings for a woman who isn’t supposed to be his but in all ways that matter is actually perfect for him. Cambria Hebert knows how to draw readers in with her witty dialogue, playful banter between characters, suspenseful plotlines, and hot sex scenes. What I especially enjoyed about the book is that she didn’t drag out the reveal of Tucker’s dual life. The truth came out about midway through the story, which worked for me because even though it was a necessary facet of the storyline, it was secondary to the plan to avenge Max’s death and the true nature of Tucker and Charlie’s relationship. Tricks is a great read, and I can't wait to read more of this series!

I enjoyed reading this book again and still adored Tucker. Unfortunately I’m apparently getting more critical with age. I am therefore knocking my rating down from 5 to 4 stars because of the ridiculous final scene involving the main characters and Mr. Wallace Sr. and the kidnappers. Their dialogue, comebacks and inner thoughts were entirely too cheesy. But the story as a whole is good and still a good one.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: 02-18-14:
I have loved every single one of these books. The men are hot, the women are loveable and the stories great. Tucker will wrap you around his finger from the first chapter. Max and Tucker are twins. Tucker just got out of the Marines and is on his way to a new state to become a private investigator with his buddy Nathan (remember Nathan from book #4 Text, yep that's him). Anyway, Tucker receives a visit from the FBI informing him that his brother Max has been killed while working undercover and collecting evidence against the higher ups in his office. We only meet Max briefly at the beginning of this story when he's being chased by the bad guys. Max's last words to the FBI agent he's on the phone with are to get Tucker. When Tucker learns that Max has been killed and he is needed to trick them into believing Max wasn't killed, he agrees for the revenge of catching his brother's killers. He hasn't spoken with Max in a while and didn't realize his brother had a live in girlfriend. But he figures it'll be easy and he won't have to spent too much time with her. He'll just find the zip drive, get it to the FBI, catch the killers and be on his way. He had no idea Charlotte would knock him on his a$s. Literally! She comes barreling out of the bedroom and crashes into him thinking he's a burglar. The electricity and heated attraction between Tucker and Charlotte is immediate. Sometimes fate has a way of bringing two people together.

This was a great book. Tucker is yummy. He's all sex and strong male and makes you want to jump in your Kindle to get a glimpse of him in the flesh. Charlotte is an independent beautiful attorney, and a great female lead character. I was pulling for these two from the beginning. It's an easy read that keeps you turning the pages to see what happens next (and what Tucker says next.....the man can talk sexy). Another great book in this wonderful series. Cannot wait for Tattoo to come out next. Great job Ms. Hebert.

I was given an ARC of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review. Everytime I read a Cambria Hebert book, I think, this can’t be better than the last one. And every time, she proves me wrong. This series draws you in and leaves you craving for more. Tricks is basically a book about deception and betrayal. Tucker’s twin brother is killed and Tucker is asked to step into his place, in order to find out who his killer is. This means stepping into the life of a workaholic lawyer and boyfriend of Charlotte. Tucker and Charlotte seem to be polar opposites. He’s a laid back ladies man and an ex marine. Charlotte is a seemingly uptight lawyer who lives and dies by her schedule. Yes, she even has a scheduled day for sex. But after they meet, Tucker and Charlotte have an instant attraction that keeps growing stronger. This pair finds out that they have more in common then they think. I absolutely loved Tucker and Charlotte. These characters were fun, sexy, and emotional. Each were carrying the guilt of Max’s death and trying to fight their attraction to each other. I loved the alpha side of Tucker and when Charlotte would see glimpses of the real Tucker and find herself wanting him. The scene at the bar had me laughing out loud. These characters really develop over the life of this story. Tucker, a one time ladies man, finds himself in love for maybe the first time in his life. And Charlotte discovers the steamier side of herself and finds herself truly enjoying life. I laughed, cried, and held my breath during this story. Tucker and Charlotte really touched my heart. And yes, Nathan and Honor (from Text), do make appearances in this book. You really can’t go wrong with a Cambria Hebert book. Each story is unique and will enrapture you.

5 out of 5 stars

Cambria Hebert never fails to impress. The Take It Off series gets better and better with each book. And her bad boys get hotter and hotter, although, for the record, Cam is still my fav Take It Off book boyfriend. Tucker comes pretty close though.

This book starts off with a thrilling car chase that left me breathless, and the action just intensified from there, making this an enthralling and intriguing read from start to finish. I was sucked into the story and if anyone was watching as I read it, they would have thought I was mad, because at times I was smiling like a loon, at times my eyes were as huge as saucers, and more often than not, I had that wicked I've-got-a-dirty-little-secret look on my face. Yup, the sex in this story was quite smoking!

Tucker was amazing, and even though what happened to Max was devastating, I'm sure Charlotte was thanking her lucky stars that he walked into her life. Her relationship with Max was extremely lack-luster, and Tucker turned up the heat to scorching the minute he was introduced in this story.

Suspense, action, romance, passion fill the pages of this book and there never a dull moment. I was on the edge of my seat, not only waiting to see if the good guys would defeat the bad guys, but to see if Charlie and Tucker would finally stop feeling guilty about their desire to be together. This was one hot read that I could not put down. Another fantastic addition to this amazing series.

Oh, by the way, I loved that Nathan and Honor made a special guest appearance in this story!! Just added to my excitement.

This is yet another amazing addition to the take it off series….. This book will take you on a rollercoaster journey packed with romance, passion, mystery and suspense.
Tucker… is just about to start his new life outside the marines when he gets an unexpected knock on his door…. The FBI….He has no choice to put his own life on hold and seek revenge for his twin brother Max’s death.
Max and Tucker are like chalk and cheese and not close like most twins… it’s been years since they have seen each other…. Tucker knows nothing about Max life at all…..
With only there identical looks between them…. Tucker finds himself being thrown into Max’s life head on…. Not only does he have to step into Max’s job but he finds himself living with Charlotte…. Max’s girlfriend….
Charlotte…. Is a hot shot lawyer…. She can’t understand the change in Max and their overnight sizzling chemistry…. Slowly she falls harder and harder for Max and with that starts to piece the story together.
Can she forgive the tricks played on her once the truth is out???
To find out pick up this amazing book…. It will keep you gripped from page one…. You will fall in love with Tucker and want him and charlotte to have a happy ending.
I love Cambria Hebert’s writing style and cannot wait for the next instalment to this series.

I got sucked into the wonderful world of the Take It Off series because of Text. It was a unique concept that I hadn't read before, and it did not disappoint. Nathan & Honor were sweet & strong & the writing made me want to scoop up all the TIO books. And I had an immediate reaction to Patton, wishing he would have his own story.

And then! I started seeing adverts for Tricks on Cambria's FB, and I was super intrigued. AND THEN! : ) Tricks has some pretty strong cameos by Nathan & Honor, but that's not why I love Tucker & Charlie's story. Tucker Patton is a Marine. He's a bad boy, with a heart of dark chocolate. He can be sweet, he can be gentle, but most of the time he's pretty good about keeping his bite. And Charlie! Or, Charlotte, but Tucker calls her Charlie & she gets offended that it's a boy name, but I like it! : ) She is a little bit lost in this life she's mapped for herself, but she can still kick ass when needed. I think she & Honor are going to be great friends, cuz Honor's a kick ass heroine, too.

Their story is fast-paced & steamier than the other books, and I devoured it in one sitting. From the opening prologue - which itself was super unique - this story pulls you in & doesn't let go. And the epilogue! <3

I can't wait to read more from this series!! : )

I honestly LOVE this series, each book that comes out has it's own pizzazz and Tucker you fall in love with him instantly, "holy mother of God, she was wearing nothing but a towel. She was wet. She was mostly naked. She was sitting across my lap." Great first meeting between Charlotte and Tucker. Well Tucker probably thinks so, Charlotte must have been embarrassed. For being a ladies man you'd think the boy would have some tricks up his sleeve but he really doesn't, "I shrugged. "I'm off. You're off. I'm starving. You're think. You could use a meal. Let's eat together." The boy has a hard time controlling himself when he's around Charlotte, "after adjusting my junk (I swear that's all I do around here), I headed toward the closet. I made two steps. There at the end of the bed she was bent over, pulling off her pajamas and thrusting her panty-clad a** in my face. Did this woman think I was a saint? Didn't she know she had to keep the goods put away if she didn't want me to jump her?" I mean he has some real troubles when it comes to Charlotte and his body, "I went over to the urinal and unbuttoned my jeans. Of course, he sprang out like some secret agent on a mission. Pi**ing with a hard-on wasn't the easiest task. It required some heavy leaning."

I received and ARC from the author for a honest review.

This was the first time that I had read any of Cambria's books and was taken away with this book. I loved it from the first couple of pages.

The story revolves around Tucker Patton who is retiring from the Marines to go and work for his buddy who ownes a private investigation firm but one knock at his door and all that changes. Tucker gets a visit from the FBI advising him that his identical twin brother Max was working for them helping them out with the company that Max works for that was having some bad dealings going on.

What Tucker must now do is asume his brother Max's identity since Max did not make it out alive and move to New York in order for the FBI to finish this job they need Tucker's help assuming the role of Max.

Enter Charlotte Carter Max's girlfriend who is an attorney with an established law firm. What Charlotte doesn't know is that her boyfriend Max is really Tucker....enter the Trick! Charlotte does notice a difference in the way Max is acting alot more sensual (well guess who's heating up his brother's sheets for him!) and so the story takes fold.

The books has everything, romance, sex, hot sex, tragedy and suspense all wrapped up in one great book!

My Review

5.0 Star Review – Tricks (Take It Off #6)

I recommend this book.

I enjoyed this book by Cambria. This book includes passion, laughs, secrets, and murder! We met Tucker in the last story "Text". Nathan and Honor make a cameo in this book.

Tucker must solve the mystery that his brother uncovered before he was killed. He has to protect Charlotte and stay alive in order to bring the killers to justice.

Tucker gets horrible news and must drop everything and step into his late twin brother Max's shoes. He must find his brothers killer by going undercover as his brother.

Problem is his brother has men after him that already think he is dead. He has girlfriend that Tucker knows nothing about. Can he fool everyone and still get the job done?

Tucker enjoys the ladies but in this story he must only interact with one. Will he be able to hold it together and not break his cover?

Charlotte can't figure out what is different about Max. He likes different thinks, acts different toward her, and she feels a different kind of sexual pull to him. Will she figure out what is different before it's too late?

WOW! I love all the books in this series, which can be read as standalone and this new one is amazing.

Tucker is basically a man whore until he get the bomb dropped on him about his brothers death. So heading to New York to stand in as his brother, he's shocked to discover he has to pass as his brother, not just with his brothers work colleagues or the men responsible for his death, but his brothers girlfriend, Charlotte.

Charlotte wonders what's going on with him and thinks he's trying to build up to tell her that he wants out of their relationship, which is so far from the truth.

To say sparks fly is an understatement. It gets hot and I mean hot!

Needless to say, things become a bit life threatening, but as always we get the HEA at the end (thank you).

I was pulled in from page one when we get the end of Max's life, right to the last page. I actually have a full paperback collection of these books, so can't wait to be able to purchase this one. Well done, again, Cambria Hebert!!

Tricks is an absolutely awesome book! This is the first book I have read in the Take It Off series and I am smacking myself for not starting the series sooner. Hot, exciting and just down right awesome.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to walk in someone else's shoes? Tucker has the chance to walk in his twin brother's shoes after his mysterious death. He didn't think it would be so difficult and then he met Charlotte, his brother's girlfriend. Hunting down the men who killed his brother and fighting the attraction for Charlotte are keeping his hands full.

Tucker is absolutely yummy! He has my heart pounding with his sexiness. I love the spicy scenes, but that is only a part of why I love this book. It has mystery, suspense and oh yeah TUCKER. I love the concept of this book. Cambria's writing just draws you in and makes you want more, while throwing in a few surprises.

I highly recommend Tricks if you love contemporary romance with a fun and exciting storyline.

BOW CHICKA WOW WOW!

I want to thank Cambria for providing me with an ARC copy of TRICKS to read and review for this blog tour <3 Much Loveage <3

OMG!

I truly do love Cambria's take it off series, there:

HOT

SEXY

FULL OF DRAMA

Everything one could ask for in a good book.

Here's me thinking that Nathan from "Text" was the overall book boyfriend from the "Take It Off Series" but....Oh no.....I honestly think TUCKER has topped the scales!

Taking on a double like and put his life on hold to avenge his twin brothers death, Tucker delves into his brothers life with this girlfriend, Charlotte, she found herself stuck in the middle and instead of feel bogged down by her daily routine as an upmarket in the scene lawyer, she found herself alive.!!

This story is full of action, HOT scenes & straight of the whip banter between Charlie and Tucker

Definitely worth the read :)

♥ ARC was provided in exchange for my honest review ♥

OMG why have I never read a book by Cambria Hebert before?!?!? This book was fan*freaking*tastic!!! I was sucked in from the very first page and did not put it down until the very last page. I could not be disturbed and was totally sucked in. I mean how can you not love a book about murder, corporate espionage, sex and one seriously hot marine. Tucker was freaking hot!! I loved his strong, alpha personality that is melted whenever Charlotte is around. Oh and get this, Tucker is a TWIN!! Stepping in as his brother to finish off the mission that killed him. Charlotte was a fantastic female character, caught between twins and trying to stay alive all at the same time = Major excitement!! All in all this is a must read book and I cant wait to dig into the other books in the series. Cambria Hebert, where have you been all my life?? I have seriously been missing out.

4.5 *****

So I had some trouble with this one. The beginning was very slow for me. I felt disconnected from the characters, and something about the story just felt...off and kept me from fully engrossing myself. Then we got more into the mystery part of the novel, and I found myself invested again. I thought the note at the end was cheesy and a little TOO convenient, but definitely propelled the story on. I thought there was also too much--how do I say this--sexual intensity (sex-focus?) and not enough substance (a common problem for me lately). The ending was cute, and I loved seeing Nate and Honor again--they've been my favorite couple so far! Overall, this novel had a rough start, an intriguing and engaging middle, and then ended on an "meh" note.

My Tucker :)

I loved this book. It did kind of bother me that Charlotte and Tucker jumped into bed so quickly, especially since she had been living with Max, Tucker's twin, for a year and he'd just told her that Max was gone, but that issue was resolved later on in the book with Max's note.
It's full of action, lots of sexual tension, a bit of mystery and a pretty perfect happily ever after.
It was well written, and the writing style was easy to read. The story flowed very smoothly and all bases were covered. No huge time gaps or holes in this story.
Tucker was a great guy and hero, jumping in and protecting Charlotte with everything he had, including taking a bullet for her. He was rough and tough and sweet at the same time, grieving his twin's death while trying to fight his growing feelings for Charlotte.

Tucker is my #1!!! Tricks is my absolute fav in the Take it off series!! Tucker is such a manly man!! My perfect man!! He took on so much & put his life on hold to avenge his twin brothers death. Charlie she was thrown into the middle of all that mess and found herself alive in her life, instead of the daily routine of boring lawyer!! This story has amazing action, perfect steamy love & some funny lines. Cambria has started 2014 off perfect!! Major hit!! Absolute #1 hit!! I want more of Tucker!!!

This was a good story. I liked the character and the conflict between them for a change. It was interesting. I also liked the story; it had many twists and turns unlike the straightforward stories before this. I think the writer is getting better at writing women as well. Even thought they're always on the go for some steamy nights but they're getting active in the story. The productive kind of active.
