It's a race to catch that most delicious acorn that falls from the tree for this young squirrel. In an adventure that takes him all the way to Bucksnort, Tennessee, Neo watched this squirrel keep his focus until the task was complete. A cute story that all can enjoy!

Adorable illustrations and a fast paced plot keep this silly squirrel jumping. Reminiscent of the 'Ice Age' squirrel. Kids will beg for this book on repeat and I'm sure it will make a great choice for sequencing and prediction activities.

Great read-aloud for story time. It's fun to hear all the children pick up on the "aw, nuts" phrase.

Cute read. While reading this is reminded of scrat from Ice Age. He was so close to reaching what he wanted and everything kept keeping him away from it. Then we go on a chase to get it.

Aw, Nuts! by Rob McClurkan is a really good book. It is one of my favorites. I love this book because squirrel likes acorns so much that he gets himself into a bit of trouble. Squirrel finds the best acorn ever, but then he loses it. So he has to go on an adventure to get his acorn back. He takes a taxi, he rides a pogo stick, he rides in a delivery van, he gets caught on a dog chasing its own tail, he rides a leaky boat, and a horse that kicks him off. Squirrel does whatever it takes to find his acorn. I really like this book because it has a lot of big words you can shout out loud, like BOING, SPLAT, POP, and AW, NUTS! I think kids should read this book because it teaches kids to be careful and to be happy with what you have. It's also fun to read the loud words with your parents.

Parent Perspective: Young readers - especially toddlers and preschoolers - are likely to think this is the funniest story ever written. It has adventure, an adorable squirrel, great action sounds, and just the right amount of silliness for their funny bones. And yes, even this adult laughed out loud a couple of times.

Just when he thinks he has it that nut is just slips riiiiiggghhhht out of reach. This book is a fun romp for fans of the Ice Age squirrel and Wile E. Coyote (although fewer anvils here.) Colorful illustrations will keep readers turning the pages and rooting for our hero to get his perfect snack till the very end.

Tee hee :) It’s a cute one. It reminds me of Fortunately, the Milk, but for much younger kids.

Very reminiscent of Remy Charlip's "Fortunately." The kids loved chiming in whenever we say, "Aw, nuts!"

This has the spirit of a 90s cartoon- the plot involves a greedy squirrel chasing after the perfect nut and in the process having quite the adventure.

Silly tale of a Squirrel who loves acorns and while storing some in his tree, he spots what he considers the most perfect acorn he's ever seen. When the acorn rolls away, Squirrel is determined to have it, no matter where the chase takes him.
