There's nothing quite as bittersweet as getting to the end of a really good story. And this is definitely a bittersweet moment. This series had me on an emotional rollercoaster from start to finish. I cheered, laughed, teared up, and fumed, and I just absolutely adored it.
I loved this ending; everything came full circle in such a precious way. I'm even happy about the extra ending piece that we got for Akane.
There were times when I thought that this manga story is too simple and there were times when the simpilicity of the story was just the right thing! This is a very heart warming and positive story. The plotline is not the best I have read but the sweetness and the recipes in the series make up for anything it lacks. I hope I get the courage and initiative to try out some of the recipes for real...
High 4 stars. Cute ending. I liked how everything came together, even if it was based on a dad taking advice from his 8 year old son that caused all the drama and miscommunication. I can roll with it. He seemed emotionally immature, so it kind of makes sense. Overall, very cute series and mostly well thought out.
This series didn’t draw me in immediately, but I continued with it thanks to the recommendation of my daughter. I’m happy I did! Everything came together in the last volume and represented all that I love about shoujo food manga.
3.5 stars, but I’ll be nice and round up because I enjoyed the series as a whole - it maintains a mostly sweet and positive tone without becoming incredibly cloying, and I do think that deserves recognition, and who isn’t a sucker for a happy ending or two (although this book does have a weird thread of ‘eh, you’ll do’ in regards to its relationships).
Overall, there’s too much Trauma Drama (tm) in this series as a whole - after the fallout from last volume and the big incident there, we end up with yet another variation on this and they’re in a race to see which is more ridiculously out of place.
And, sorry, I am calling out the ridiculous double duty of Daichi’s father’s bookcase, which is used to advance the plot twice in, essentially, the exact same way. The first time he might as well have just written ‘Evil Plans’ on the spine of the damn book.
All that said, I do recommend this series and I did enjoy it. Najika was a sunny character whose courage and determination made her a nice, genuinely strong heroine. She’s the kind of character you want to succeed.
While the ending is a little contrived - I called that competition outcome - it all held together well and it stayed true to its theme of food being a joy to be shared. I did think it was clever how they wrapped up the loose ends in Najika’s memories and actually integrated the series title into the story.
A good, worthwhile read. There’re certainly more than a few issues, but like the people in the story itself, it’s hard not to be won over by Najika’s strength and charm and on balance it does enough good to cover the times when the tone goes darker than it probably needed.
**Warning: this text may contain spoilers** Wow, I absolutely LOVED this series, omg touched my heart so much, the feels! 3 love the story about cooking and romance, omg Najika and Daichi - sooo sweet, adorable, perfect together! 3 love the beautiful inspiration too : ) definitely recommend this manga series if you love cooking or romance or shoujo series or if you just love manga! : )

Seika and Najika are always competing as they cook at the academy. Seika looks just like Sora....could he be Najika's Flan Prince? The orphanage is in trouble and Najika has to go against her heart to help. But can she betray her parents vision and teachings? Is there any other way to help the orphanage? An old memory resurfaces for Daichi causing him anguish. Daichi's relationship with Najika is ever changing. Interesting recipes and an intriguing story come together in the end of this series.
AWW.. this series was so heartwarming from start to finish and was also an emotional rollercoaster, this last volume especially.. however, i really enjoyed it all the way through and did not expect this much emotional impact from a cutesy shoujo like this! (;ω;) although it was predictable at times, it was a very fun and light read and i think so many more people would enjoy this manga if they knew about it! i’m happy i picked it up again and finished the series this time, and want to try making some of the recipes as well lol..
Ok, that was great. I really enjoyed this series even if it did take a drastic turn into left field at the halfway point. That just allowed it to ramp up the tensions and more fully delve into the characters, which was great because this is really a story of characters more than any serious plot or other driving factors. I am glad I stuck through to the end with this one. It had a very nice conclusion with everything wrapped up rather nicely.
After I finished reading I genuinely held it to my chest. Like an exhausted mother who finally got her child to sleep and like I met an old friend all at once. I'm already planning to read the novel if I can and maybe writing a letter to the author and mangaka. Just. A lot of feelings. Maybe a reread soon I don't know
I loved this manga series and it is all neatly tied up in this last one. Perfect series for feel-good, comfort reading. Some serious issues are mentioned but do not overshadow the cute/comfort aspect of this series. Excellent!!
This has been a great family friendly series. I love Najika 's amazing and resilient personality, and her determination to bring smiles to others through her cooking. Enjoyed the side story about Akane at the end. Fun, fun, fun series!
Wow. I went into this thinking this was just gonna be a cute story about a girl going to cooking school but there is so much more to the story! The drama. The romance. The suspense. Death even? Very soap opera like at times but I enjoyed it 😌🩷

I'm such a sucker for Shojo. Squeeel. So cute. :D I'm reading it a second time at the moment. Man. So glad the library ordered the last book. Too cute. Loved it.
What can I say, I just liked this series! It is cute, positive, up beat, and yet serious and sometimes shocking. I say well done to the author and illustrator both! I recommend this series to manga fans/manga food fans! Also they did a great job of wrapping it up at the end.
There are no loose ends left up to the reader to question what happened, and the endings are happy but not unrealistic or fairytale-ish. All the characters end up feeling very human, even the main antagonists.
