[Menage and Erotic Historical Fairy Tale Menage a Trois Romance, M/F/M, HEA] When her mother died, Cinderella was sure that she and her father would fall apart alone. However, that changed when her father met a woman with two daughters of her own. Cindy was sure that life was going to be spectacular! Not only was she going to have a new mother, but sisters as well! However, in the time of war her father was called off to protect their Kingdom. A King who always had believed in fighting with his men, Cindy was taught what reality was. Forced into the role of servant, Cinderella lives each day in the shadows of her own home, watching and hiding in hopes that her stepmother and stepsisters will forget her... until she runs into a visiting Prince that is. When she runs into Prince Randulf in the halls of the castle, she knows she will have to do what she can to save him from her sisters and her stepmother. Even at the cost of a whipping, Cindy steers him clear of her family. Cedric thinks that Cindy is a servant when he first meets her, even if her mannerisms are anything but servitude. He loses his heart to her, however, and soon so, too, does his best friend, Prince Randulf. Now if only she were a Princess life could be good, right? ** A Siren Erotic Romance

DNF. Second attempt at reading an Honor James novel and quickly encountered the same dislikes in Paranormal Protection Unit #1. Lengthy conversations with stilted unrealistic language, inconsistencies in the story line and a female lead who is portrayed as shy, special and pure but really just seams stupid, weak and insecure. Plus, if I have my maths right she is barely 20 and he (they) are nearly 50.

First, this is largely teenage monologue, followed by equal amounts of poorly written story & sex.
Even in the midst of sex, I couldn't help but feel & remark that they TALK TOO MUCH. I have never experienced that in a book before.
As to why the story is poorly written. I would give Ms. James a Lifetime Achievement award for the most inconsistencies both in story & plot. I stopped counting after ten, in the first 1/3 of the book. Not little mistakes, but big huge mistakes that completely threw you out of the story; I spent more time trying to understand the inconsistencies than I did reading! Some took the whole of the book to reveal, and some were revealed in 5 pages (for example, pg 65 "gagged" from the smell, and page 70 "You smell divine" which was only a few minutes later).
I was able to force myself to finish because it's a short book. It's hard to believe that she is being published without more editing...I fault the publisher. Even though I don't hate it, I won't read more.

This whole series is like the TV Show Once Upon a Time. Each book takes a fairy tale and the author changes it to become an erotic tale.

This book is the story of Cinderella. We all know how the story goes, only this is slightly different. Cinderella was a princess before she marries Prince Charming. Her father, the King, marries her stepmother and then leads his army into battle leaving Cindy at the harm of her step mother and awful step sisters. Prince Charming and his best friend come from a neighboring kingdom in search for a bride. Cindy meets and warns the Prince about how her step sister will trap him into marrying him. Of course, he falls for Cindy.

I loved this version of Cinderella. It is well worth the read.

Prince Randulf has been ordered from his father that it is time to wed and begin providing heirs to the kingdom. Randulf doesn't want to marry but has little choice, his wishes of finding a wife who he will love unconditional seems hopeless especially with the two princesses he is sent to meet.

Little does Prince Randulf realize there is a third princess, one who is kind at heart and has made a preemptive strike to keep the Prince out of the hands of her wicked step-sisters. When Randulf realizes with the help of his best friend, Cedric that Cinderella is the true Princess his heart soars, but will she be willing to accept Cedric who is quickly falling for her as well.

3.75 This was fun, but it was a little fluffy. I thought Cinderella's acceptance to a menage relationship was a little swift considering she was an abused innocent. I did like Randulf and Cedric is the humor in this one. Would check out more in this series.
