5/5 - *****

I honestly wish I read this sooner! Not only does this book diminish one's fear of public speaking but encourages one to give public speaking a go! I literally felt empowered enough to give a presentation as soon as I've read this!

I loved the simplicity and the sincerity of this book because the author's intent to teach the reader really comes through the pages and the straight forward and humorous language used makes it engaging and easy to read and to follow.

The structure is fabulously done, with quick summaries and diagrams which allows the reader to absorb information very quickly.

I also found it very useful due to the exercises that were included in the appendix which allows for self development at one's own pace.

As well as that, it makes an excellent reference for planning speeches and presentations.

And more importantly, it is tailored for both amateur and expert public speakers - everyone can learn from this.

Great book to have! Would recommend reading at home, where you have a chance to make notes here and there.

So many great tips in this book that I will be using to try and improve my public speaking.

The chapters that really resonated with me were looking at positive self talk and overcoming the fear of public speaking.

Sarah Lloyd-Hughes also gives so many practical techniques. I had never thought of a speech as a content pie before. It will be really helpful in timing my speeches.

A great book - as someone that’s terrified of doing it, it kinda made me nervous but that’s not the book’s fault. Practical, well formatted, easy to understand. I may buy this in the near future. (It was from the library)

- Không đút túi quần, không nhìn vào một ai đó khi thuyết trình.
- Chuẩn bị kỹ các bài thuyết trình.
- Nói về cái mà thính giả muốn nghe, không phải điều mình muốn nói.
