You might think that this book would be on my craft shelf, but it doesn't quite tell you HOW to make stuff. It's more about the history of crafts on the British Isles--like crofting and sheep shearing and roof thatching. Stuff like that. They do have a bit on fair isle knitting, candle making, paper making, etc. but it isn't so much directions or patterns as it is the history of these things. So, if you are of celtic, pictish, gaelic, saxon or angle ancestry, you will find this book an interesting glimpse into the lives of those who came before you. Otherwise, you can pass on it.
