In the early nineteenth century, hungry gold prospectors descended on Miracle Mountain in north Georgia, ripping open the ancient wilderness, driven by dreams of glittering fortunes. Local legends tell of mysterious events, like a young girl who defied death after toppling from the mountain's treacherous waterfall.

Today, tourists visit to see the legendary falls along with the blazing colors of the Appalachian forests in autumn. The rustic, antiquated Highwater Inn welcomes them, but specters from the past haunt the halls and terrify the guests and staff. Paranormal investigator Ellie Jordan arrives to help the owners, who are desperate to clear away the evil influences before they're forced to close down and abandon the struggling hotel.

The Ellie Jordan series is just one of those series, that regardless of how many books there are, how many you've already read and devoured, you are still left wanting more because it is just that good, that much fun, and just that unique. And after 20 books, I can say that with complete confidence. I just love this series. It never fails to keep me on my toes, keep me jumping at those things that go bump in the night, and keep me on the edge of my seat wondering what horrors and monsters will be uncovered next.

Another heart pounding fantastic addition to the series!

Such a marvellous series.

This series is all about the Ghosts and Monster's. Ellie Jordan.lost her family in a housefire when she was eight. In the fire Ellie was an entity, it was evil obviously and controlled the fire, as Ellie grew to adulthood fires occurred around her always after killing her. Ellie knew she was not just being haunted but hunted she was the one that got away and the.evil entity wanted her dead. As an adult Ellie.went to work fo.an ex police officer who had made a new.career out of investigating haunting and trying to help the victims involved. Ellie never looked back, she knew the devastation that these "Ghosts" could cause and devoted herself to providing help to the desperate. Along the way Ellie acquired and assistant Stacey, she also had personal experience with an evil entity, one was responsible for the death of her brother. Add a psychic named Jason and that's basically the whole team, each book is it's own complete story and in each Ellie and Stacey come up.against some monstrous and horrific entities torturing families mainly (evil seems to like young children) who have no hope of rescue of not for Ellie and Stacey. There's also some gentle humour in the books especially in the banter between Ellie and Stacey. Each story is different the hauntings never simple to solve and usually at great physical risk. These ghosts mean business..............

Another win for Mr. Bryan. His books never disappoint. Filled with plenty of action, mystery, quirky characters, and ghosts, this book grabs you from page one and doesn't let go until the end. I usually devour these books in one sitting, and I can hardly wait for the next offering. Bravo, Mr. Bryan, bravo! I highly recommend this book and this series.

Continue to love this series about a ghost hunting team in the south. Supernatural with guts and a touch of humor. Only problem, they go too fast. Eagerly awaiting the next one.

Hoo-boy. Ellie and Stacey have their work cut out for them this time around. Not because of the ghosties, necessarily, but because some of the people staying at the inn (owner included) are WAY into contacting the other side. Which makes Ellie's job a little more difficult since she has to make sure said individuals aren't doing anything boneheaded in addition to trying to figure out what the spirits want.

On the up side, Ellie and Stacey don't have to convince the owners the inn is haunted. Which is, you know, something different. That said (and is often the case with the ghosts Ellie is called in to take care of), the entities hanging around can be a little devious. Let's just say you don't know who to trust until THINGS HAPPEN and then you're stuck with the consequences.

As always, Ellie and Stacey (and Jacob, once he joins them) do their thing (which involves research along with the fun tracking of possible supernatural events around the property and , as in Jacob's case, reliving some not-so-fun events thanks to some helpful ghosts) while trying to keep the people who hired them safe. Since there are also other folks staying at the inn, they also have to keep THEM safe, as well. In other words, they have their work cut out for them and BOY did I like watching the ladies do what they do to unravel the events on the mountain. GOOD STUFF ALL AROUND!

Ellie gets a call to come up to the Highwater Inn in the Appalachian Forest after several guests have vacated claiming ghost visits. A beautiful out-of-the-way area, with mountainous climbing and gorgeous (although dangerous) waterfalls, and a former history of gold prospectors. When they arrive, they discover that the couple that own and run the inn are not very interested in removing all of the ghosts...just maybe the one in the basement area. This attitude surprises Ellie, but in the best "customer is always right" attitude, she and Stacey discreetly set up their equipment and try to research the history. But soon, Ellie becomes even more concerned when the owner, Willow, not only doesn't want to remove all the ghosts, but is actively encouraging them to appear. She tries to warn her of the possible dangers, but to no avail. Can they resolve this conflict, or will they have to pack it in for the first time and just things stand. This story started out differently from all the others, at a more sedate and relaxing pace, but deeper in the story, it turned into an exceptionally spooky tale, worthy of this author and series. Absolutely loved the twists in this one. I already have the next one on preorder!

Another wunderbar Ghost Trapper novel in the series!

Been such a fan of the Ghost Trapper series ever since I found the first book by chance, and have been a loyal reader ever since - signing up for upcoming books, and introducing it to anyone who shows a hint of interest in spooky books.
As ever enjoyed the plot buildup, the relationship between Stacey and Ellie, location backstory, twists and all! Do wish the endings were a bit longer with mayhaps more of Ellie's "normal" life outside of work, they currently feel slightly rushed though I'm sure that's because the focus is on the main job.

Another reviewer remarked that no matter how many books are in this series, they never get old. And I think that says it perfectly! Each story has it's own scary charm. Serious Ellie and bubbly Stacey (don't call her that!) of Eckhart Investigations are back, with another scary mission. This time, the client doesn't so much want to get rid of the haunting as welcome the spirits and convince them to stay, even going so far as to seek them out. Super bad idea, because these ghosties are not playing nice! (Are they ever?) So Ellie, Stacey and Jacob must not only figure out what's causing the haunting, but convince the client that, no, ghosts are not friendly and don't make great pets. Check out Miracle Mountain, the latest in the Ellie Jordan, Ghost Trapper series. Looking forward to the next one to listen to under the covers with all the lights on! 😬😱 😄

A very belated review for another amazing instalment in this series. I love that these books are easy to jump back into, with new characters and new ghosts to meet.
The location of this new investigation definitely wasn’t what I expected it t be, but that’s adds to the mystery of the story. I loved the very eclectic mix of characters in this book and how the different personalities work as well as clash.

The ending of the book was very unexpected, with a huge surprise twist at the end that had me reading as fast as I could to find out what happens.

It was good, even if I'm not the biggest fan of what I call the 'nature adventures'.

The story was interesting enough once we really got into the meat of it, though I'm always wishing we had more exploration of laws and such - yes, this is not the purpose of this series but you can't stop a girl from hoping.

I'm really hoping that in the future books we'll get a bit more of Michael and Jacob, I miss those two interacting.

Still, always like Stacey and Ellie together, and Stacey really is starting to feel like an experienced hunter now.

Can't wait to pick up the next one!

I love Ellie Jordan and with each new story I fall a little more in love with the writing and the story telling and the characters, it the characters. The relationship and bond between Stacey and Ellie is just perfect and I love their banter. I also adore the dynamic Jacob brings and the way the three of them bounce off each other.

Each story brings new characters and new ghosts and no two stories are ever the same and each has their u iqur twists and turns.

Miracles In Text

This series is one of my all time favorites. I mention it almost every chance I get to anyone I can. The characters are bright and dynamic.

This book like the rest never fails to entertain and surprise me. I highly recommend this series if you're looking for a good read. I also recommend the audiobooks as well. I've been listening to them from the beginning again.

Highly recommend!

Finished this one within 24 hours. Again. There's something about Ellie (and Stacey & Jacob) and their experiences that mean you just can't put the book down! One of the great things about the whole series is, where it *could* become quite formulaic JL Bryan somehow manages to find new twists and angles so each new instalment is still enjoyable and fresh. I go back and reread most books.

Another very scary book in the Ellie Jordan, Ghost Trapper series. The buildup took a big longer than I would have liked but once the really scary things started happening it was one chill after another. Several surprises kept the tension ramped up that much more. I loved the cover art which really set the tone. Definitely another winner in the series.

Loved it! This one is a departure from the normal Ellie and Stacy adventure. Instead of cynical naysayers as clients we get a couple who are absurdly excited about having a haunted inn. This one starts out very benignly before turning into a bullet train of terror. Totally unexpected events really amped up my blood pressure. As always, I can't wait for the next one!

Miracle Mountain

This series gets better and better, as though the author has gotten into a nice groove with the characters. Definitely some scary moments and I must say I didn't figure it all out as I can sometimes do. Very much enjoyed the setting as well. Now to wait for the next one, sigh.

A quick read. Series overall still a good one.

This definitely isn't a favorite of mine in the series. Still enjoyed it with my kindle unlimited subscription. You really need to like the mystery in the book. The one time he tried for character growth it just got weird. Will continue to be a reader of this series.

A little different. A lot of awesomeness.

Just like all the other books in the series, this one is well written and easy to read. I thought it's was a little longer in the build up to the scary stuff, then BAM. I didn't see that coming. Love it as always. Thank you for continuing to share your stories.

3.5…this one has a very slow start and didn’t really get going until about halfway through when Jacob’s character arrives. I even was starting to wonder if it was written by a different author. The beginning half didn’t feel like a typical Ellie Jordan book. However the last half was really good and I enjoyed all the twists.

Ancient Entities

Wow, what a ride. I loved the description of the mountain, the hotel, the entities. So vivid I felt like I was one of the characters experiencing all of it as they were. Especially the fade in fade out moments. My goodness! EEEEK! Great adventure. On to the next please.

Another haunting novel (excuse the pun).

A good read, and once you get into the story, you can't put it down. The dangers of playing with ghosts soon shows up and Ellie and Co get things sorted, probably.

ALWAYS A THRILL!

I always enjoy all of his books and writing. I do wish that he would make them longer. There’s so much more that he could elaborate on, in this book and a couple previous to this one. I want to reiterate that he is an amazing writer, no matter what my opinion is.

Ellie & Stacey investigate a creepy mountain inn. Enjoyable creepy tale in an isolated forested wilderness. Though a good read, not one of the best in the series, but I did really like the unexpected 'twist' near the end!
