The Art of Spiritual Healing

Rate this book
The Art of Spiritual Healing is based on Joel Goldsmith’s many years of experience in practicing spiritual healing. In a decided departure from other books on the subject, Goldsmith reveals the spiritual principles that are the foundation for spiritual healing. He alternates instruction with meditation to demonstrate his conviction that since physical health is a manifestation of consciousness, physical well-being is a natural result of attaining the consciousness of oneness with God. Complete in scope and non-denominational in approach, The Art of Spiritual Healing is a simple, straightforward explanation of what to many is a mysterious and complex subject. The book is presented in four parts: “The Principles,” “The Role of Treatment,” “The Practice,” and “Without Words or Thoughts.”

Goldsmith believes that the world needs people who, through devotion to God, are so filled with the Spirit that they can be the instruments through which healings take place. He says, “There is not a person reading this book, who should not be ready to accept the responsibility of beginning to heal now. It is not your spirituality or mine that will heal anybody; it is not your understanding or mine that is going to heal. It is God’s understanding to which we make ourselves receptive by becoming still.”

Together with The Art of Meditation, Living the Infinite Way, and Practicing the Presence, this is a foundational book of the Infinite Way message.

Was this book really written in the late 1950's? I kept shaking my head in disbelief as the author continued to bring alive concepts that are things I'm just learning about and discovering through current mentors and authors. I highlighted the heck out of this book, with one new realization after another coming at me. I picked up this book as a Psychic Medium that I have trained with, Suzanne Giesemann, mentioned she rereads The Infinite Way by Joel Goldsmith often and has had many synchronicities occur with this book. I really enjoyed how the author brings in passages from The Bible and explains what they 'really' mean in very clear and understandable words and concepts. I never really read The Bible, nor really resonated with its truths, but now I'm seeing there is a new way to possibly read it knowing what I know now...that God is experiencing itself through us. There is no 'separate' God, only aspects of God. Anyway, loved this book and plan to read many more of Mr. Goldsmith's books.

Non-dualism packaged into contemporary Christian language - making me so much difficult to feel it, pushing into many of my resistances. Complements other very powerful standalone books like Nisargadatta's "I Am That" and "The Power of Now", is totally original and comes from a whole new perspective, everything not only makes sense but is perfectly integrated. I couldn't cease to be amazed once every each few pages at the depth and originality. The book in which I've highlighted the most passages - either ideas and feelings totally new to me or making me see things I knew from a completely new vantage point.

The best book I've read about transcendence of human mind. It brings the ancient secret of a plenty life on earth for those open enough to comprehend it.

A wonderfully simple, accessible guide to healing through prayer.

"As servants of the most High, we remain in the world, unaffected by its passions, hates, or loves, unaffected by its wars or intervals between wars: We remain in it as a blessing."

I keep coming back to this book. I read it in small segments, but get something out of it each and everytime I read it. For some reason I've never been able to sit down and read it through.
