Kara had only just begun to enjoy her life as a mortal with David—when they are pulled back suddenly into the world of the supernatural. The Legion has made an important discovery: a new Elemental child, whose whereabouts are unknown. Kara immediately prepares herself for battle, and comes face to face with the evil Seirs—a group of mortals devoted to the Netherworld.
What’s worse, someone close to her is taken. Kara and her friends embark on another dangerous journey to seek out this child. But is this being really an Elemental—or something else entirely?

UGH! DAVID AGAIN! I don't know why I can't accept him as a love interest (I mean, I do.. but damn) .. yeesh, I just can't!
Netherworld is still about Kara and UGH! David. They are just getting used to everything being mundane for them (especially Kara) when they sucked back into the supernatural world.
The one thing I liked about this book, again, was that Kara didn't have complete control of her magic. She had to learn how to recontrol it or whatever. The one thing I didn't like.. was that she magically and mysteriously gained control over that shit. It was annoying how she used to struggle with it but then picked it up like a natural.
This book also just really annoyed me. Not with the whole David love interest thing.. but just how Kara was magically a little bit better than she was since book one. I'm glad that she could finally defeat things and stand on her on... but it just wasn't realistic for me.
I'm still praying that David is a fluke and she will wake up and realize that he isn't the one.. but I'm also kind of debating to throw that out the window right about now. I don't know if I will continue to the next book. Mostly because this book annoyed me endlessly. It's like everything went downhill in this book. I'm just disappointed in myself for continuing and in this book for continuing.
Short and Simple Review I think maybe I'm just not as interested in this series anymore. I didn't think it was that long since I read the last book, but I guess it's been five years! Whoops! I remember the concept of the angels and the afterlife being really interesting and I remember how after reading the last book I really wanted to read the next book! I guess that took a while. This book did not really impress me all that much and maybe that is because I'm a bit tired of paranormal books. I kept losing interest in the story and the plot felt like it dragged. There's an interesting plot to this book, with the characters venturing into the Netherworld, and there were plenty of new plots introduced, but... I just couldn't bring myself to care. I didn't feel attached to the characters and the main villain in this book acted like such a stereotype that I did not feel the threat. I liked this series, but I feel like I've outgrown it. I don't really feel the need to continue the series.
I liked this book but there was one thing that bothered me towards the end. From the beginning Kara struggled to control her power but suddenly she can use it at will? I'm glad that she was able to defeat the demons and escape but with the way her power had been acting it was a little unrealistic.
There were still a few blunders here and there, but nothing that affected the storyline. Grammar was a bit better, though there were still some errors, like whole for hole, etc. And the tenses didn't switch back and forth. Yea! Plus, I enjoyed the storyline. Though I was a little worried at first, because it was supremely slow, but it turned out well and made me want more. I just wish the cliffhanger endings were crafted a bit better.
For my clean readers: Includes language, violence, and descriptions of gore.

The mortal life for Kara and David only lasted one chapter before they're catapulted back into Horizon. The team's mission was supposed to be easy, find out about the other person who might be an elemental just like Kara, but it turned out to be the hardest as they weren't allowed to kill Seirs, a group of mortal humans in allegiance with the devil.
Captured and helpless, Kara and the team almost gave up her vows to protect the mortals. Thankfully, the sensitives, a group of human who could see the supernatural beings and also sided with the angels, saved them. It was too late for Jenny though, as Kara's evil half-sister abducted her into the Netherworld. However, Kara would do anything to save Jenny, including venturing into the Netherworld.
Kara was supposed to go alone in her mission, but David and Peter found a way to venture into the Angel prohibited zone. The adventure in retrieving information for the legion and also saving Jenny was very nerve-wracking. If this were a movie, it would be super cool.
I loved the author's imagination about the underworld and the badass evil. However, I was confused with Kara's sudden power control management skill! Since when did she learn to control her elemental power?
Such a dumbass heroine. "It's me, you want.Take me, leave he/she alone". This dialogue is in all the books of this series.Don't she never learn anything. Next thing,do angels supposed not to be selfish. For Kara, she'll break any law for the sake of her mother/jenny/boyfriend.in the process she'll kill any number of angels or souls.
She doesn't have a guilty conscience before she does something stupid. I'm telling it's such a waste of time to read this book.
I am having a really hard time getting into this series. I don't feel as invested in the characters as I should at this point. I am committed to see it to the end though. I can't help myself no matter how much I'm not liking it right now. I have hope that things will change and come together with a big bang ending.
I love this & I can't wait for more. I will be also leaving a review on Goodreads @ Amazon. And letting everyone know about it. So i gave it a 5 Stars.
Not my favorite book in the series. It took me some time to get through...distracted with having babies and all. Still enjoyed the characters and I'm looking forward to reading the next book.
Surprise! Kara is back in the 4th book in the Soul Guardians Series. In this book, she travels to the Netherworld, home to the Demons.
Though she is an Angel, Kara is able to travel to the Netherworld, when one of her friends is kidnapped. While she is there, Kara discovers something that makes her question herself, and puts her determination to the test.
This book was more disappointing to me than the last. I felt as though Kara was stumbling her way through the story rather than actually doing anything about her circumstances. She did have a few moments, but her lack of confidence and ditsy way of going through the motions lost my interest before I was half way through the book. This was once again over 400 pages which was way to long to enjoy. I give this book 1 star. If I hadn't been so close to finishing the series, I would have never finished reading it.
I would not recommend this book. The plot would have been great, but once again the story was poorly written and too drawn out to enjoy. The characters were loosing their hold in the story. This series should have ended at book #3.
Nothing particularly special. The netherworld bothers me and the fact that earth seems to act as though there were never any demon attacks. If this is deliberate, it was never made clear. I didn't like the fact that they just seemed to stumble wind the underworld blindly hoping to end up where they needed to go. And Zadkiel? What a dull ending. Kara was also completely obsessed with Lilith the start, which I didn't quite feel. Other than that, it was alright. It clearly seems to be a continuation of a series that was originally intended to be trilogy and whilst I think this one was somewhat better plotted than the first two books, it wasn't particularly gripping.
Once again we meet our friend Kara in her human life only to be taken back to Horizon. Who is this random elemental she is chasing? Why is the elemental running away? Is she evil? Kara and the other angels must figure this out, but danger lurks at every corner. What shall become of them and how will they cross into the Netherworld?
I enjoyed this book though it took me awhile to read it because I had other things going on. I can't wait for the next book after seeing how this one ended!
I discovered these books by Kim Richardson through Amazon and I love them. They are reasonably prized and it keeps me entertained for an afternoon. This book is filled with a lot of action, a little bit of romance, and jammed with surprises on every corner. Kara had thought she put an end to evil by killing her father, but there is a surprise in store for her...
Great continuation of the series! I am excited that no one really important has been killed. I am excited to see what Seirs is all about! Kim Richardson is a very captivating author. I was so tired tonight & just wanted to read one or two chapters. lol I ended up finishing the whole book & now I am buying Seirs!
2.5 STARS. I really liked this series, but I wish it would've ended with the last book. I know that there were a few loose ends to deal with, but even those ends weren't tied up in this book. I was missing something in this continuation--perhaps drive? I found myself skimming chapters just to get to the end. I guess I felt like this adventure fell flat for me.
the reason I gave this book 4 stars was because the title really was the book not really spoiling anything but the book is really just in the netherworld nowhere else. I did really love the ending of the book and I can't wait to read siers and mortal
meets her half sister Lilith, Lilith kidnaps Jenny and takes her to the Underworld. Kara fuses her energy with her friends so they can go to the Netherworld with her. She meets the overseer of the Netherworld.David turns into a higher demon in Netherworld. He tries to kill her, she uses her elemental power and restores him as an angel. Zadkiel is killed by Lilith.

Ive just finished reading all four books in this series : Marked, Elemental, Horizom and Netherworld. I couldn't put these books down and read them in 2 1/2 days. I really liked the characters and the unusual action packed story and I can't wait for book 5 Seirs to come out now.
The fourth book in a fantastic series about guardian angels and demons. I'm completely in love with David and Kara, although the "will they or won't they is driving me insane." Such an intricate story of angels and demons, I can't wait for book five.
Ok so this series is just getting weirder and weirder. Kinda like a combination of Alice in wonderland, beetlejuice, the labyrinth with Angels and Demons. and its starting to drag out. But I'm gonna go for the next book seirs. I'm already 4 books in so can't stop now.
One thing I'd have loved to see was Kara learning how to control her power and not just her being able to control it automatically. Other than that I'd have wanted to know more about what happened to Peter and David after the exchange of essence
