Caffeine: Habits & Effects

Rate this book
90% of North Americans consume caffeine on a daily basis. Caffeine is found in many beverages and some foods. For example: teas, sodas, energy drinks, and in chocolate. However, the bulk of caffeine consumed comes in the form of coffee beverages (consider the number of Starbucks around the world). Caffeine stimulates our nervous system reducing the effects of fatigue and restoring alertness, but on the other hand the negative consequences of too much caffeine include irritability, nervousness, and insomnia, to name a few.

This eBook covers how caffeine effects the nervous system, the history of coffee, the two species of coffee plants (Arabica & Robusta), the cultivation of coffee beans, and how the roasting process enriches coffee flavor, in addition to highlighting green coffee bean extract and its effect on weight loss.
