Creative nails are the best accessory! Hannah Lee, creator of the popular YouTube Channel Hannah Rox Nails, shares more than thirty new nail designs in Cool Nail Art . With tips on how to prep your manicure, clear step-by-step instructions and easy-to-use tools, you can create fabulous nail art designs in your own home.
The best nail art book I managed to find. Really cute designs, simple and easy-to-follow instructions with step-by-step examples (not drawings). Not too wordy but still informative. A little bit more variety would have been great but overall a good introduction to nail art.
Lee, Hannah. Cool Nail Art: 30 Step-by-Step Designs to Rock Your Fingers and Toes. Illus. 2014. Written by a nail artist with her own Youtube channel, who needs to visit the Nail Garden when there is a book like this? The designs inlude holiday specials (Valentine’s, Haunakkah, Christmas, Holloween), flowers, dots, zigzags, and my favorite, stained glass. The pictures are clear and provide tutorials with use of some simple tools. The book is pretty, and a lot of fun. However, the pictures remind me of what might become a Pinterest fail. In places the nail design looks incredibly intricate – I would imagine the lay person would have a difficult time getting some of these designs onto their nails. But it’s inspiring and fun and girls would certainly enjoy trying. It’s definitely one of those books that will be popular and teens will love to pick up. Target age: 12+
I used to do nails many years ago. I choose to do hair, but I have a license to do hair, nails and skin. Doing designs was never my forte, years ago, we just did the nails and the airbrush artist did the rest. Recently, I started doing my own nails again, because it's been really hard catching up with my girlfriend, (who is a nail salon owner), to do my nails. I really miss getting designs done on my nails, that's why I bought this book. Hannah gives you step by step instructions, on how to do each design. Great book!
The book has a cute cover. It’s an up-close photo of girls’ hands with different nail polish and designs on each finger. The book offers clear instructions, lots of colorful photos, a list of resources and an index in back. The designs look rather difficult, so it would’ve been nice to see two people (one as the model as one as the painter). I was dismayed at the lack of diversity in the hand and toe models - only white hands were shown.
Art. Nail art. I love nail art. This book may be small, but each and every design is described in detail, is pretty, and looks fun to do! All done with polish, paint, & simple tools. No fancy stuff needed. I want to do them all....now! I borrowed this book from the library, but I've decided to purchase it. It's a must for my personal library.
Researching for a nail art program at the library. This one's pretty good. Not too complicated and has an easy-to-read lay out. The author also has a youtube channel (https://www.youtube.com/usepixiepolish) that I'll check out.
Step by step with pictures for each step. Fun. Maybe I'll even try some of these - if I can remember the steps. Need the metal balled tool, have sponges.
Includes a list of required tools, creative designs and convenient step-by-step description with pictures. Will use some, and definitely recommend to a friend!
