Heartcraft Market #3

Yarn & Yearnings

Rate this book
Collin is big, burly, and rides a Harley. He's the last person anyone would expect to have a hobby that he not only loves but has turned into a business. He crochets and makes a variety of items that he sells at the Heartcraft Market.

Harper is finding his way in a new town. He wants to plant roots and find someone to share a life with. But he's always been hung up on the biker that took his v-card six years ago. It's a night that stuck with him and he can't seem to forget about the man. Finding him at the Heartcraft Market seems too good to be true.

When Collin spots someone that resembles the sweet, nervous boy that left an impression on him, only he's not so small and anxious as he once was.

Is this desire between them the ghost of a fling from the past, or could it stitch into something real?

Yarn & Yearnings is a second chance, age gap romance with motorcycles, new starts, and creative uses for crochet. The Heartcraft Market series features stand-alone novels that can be enjoyed on their own or read with the series to revisit your favorite characters.

Yarn & Yearnings is book three in the Heartcraft Market series by Duckie Mack. First I want to say that I adore this series. For me, every book just gets better and better. Maybe because I’ve become invested in this community? After just finishing this one, I feel like this one is the swooniest of them all but maybe I thought that after the other two as well? This is just an angst free, swoony, wonderful, squeeze your heart romance that left me feeling all the warm and fuzzies.

First, a little history. Once upon a time, there was a nineteen year old young man who suspected he was bi. He was so brave and knew that before going to college, he had to figure it out one way or another. So he took himself to a biker bar and picked up a man. Lucky for him, he picked up someone safe, someone that took care of him and gave them both an unforgettable night. So unforgettable that in the six years to follow, both men would hold those memories close to their heart, always searching for that stranger from that night, never completely able to move on.

Collin Kirkpatrick is thirty six years old and lives in Grove Hills with his grandmother. His gran raised him. Now in her eighties, he feels like it’s his time to give back and take care of her. I adored her by the way! Collin is a big guy covered in tattoos and rides a Harley. You might take a step or two back if you just came across him on the street. But what you wouldn’t know is that Collin crochets. It started as a hobby but he was so good at it, it’s become his career. He can make just about anything. He sets up a booth twice a month at the Heartcraft Market. Collin has dated but never seriously. Especially since “that night.” The sweet memories of that night are always with him. But is six years long enough that he should give up hoping to find the stranger that still lives in his dreams?

Harper Fielding is now twenty five years old. He has graduated from college with an environmental science degree and no idea what to do with it. He has moved to Grove Hills and is living with his ex-girlfriend’s family. Harper has never forgotten the man from six years ago. He still goes in to biker bars and sits, hoping to find him. But it has never happened. Who would have ever thought that walking the aisles at a farmer’s market, he would hear the voice he’s never forgotten and see the face that he still dreams of. He’s here, after all this time!

I’m going to just stop there and let you experience the rest of this magical story on your own. These two together just made my heart squeeze so tight. They were adorable. I love the found family Collin created in Grove Hills and the way Harper just fit. The whole book was wonderful. The next book in the series is going to be Marley’s book called Bouquets & Belonging. I can’t wait!!!

“Being able to call you mine felt like the rightest thing I’ve ever done.”

A cute MM romance with an age gap (~11 yrs), 2 men who never got over their hookup, a sweet queer MC, plenty of yarn, fun, horniness & a HEA!
I loved Collin & Harper, Devoured my #ARC within 5hrs.

Collin (36) is caring, gentle with a big, burly, tattooed exterior. Biking is in his blood, he's part of a queer motorcycle club. & A crocheter by business & love.
Harper (25) is in town for a planned new start, he's sweet, passionate, & bi. Col brings out H's bold, kinky side 😏.

Since their no-names hook-up 6yrs ago, they've longed for eachother. Now, more matured, a chance meet is an answer to their yearnings. And a little friendly IG creeping never hurts either eh? 🤣

These 2 are pretty adorbs, despite the "running" start 😳. They're also so horny (examples - Bathroom escapades & Bike time 😉) & with sizzling chemistry! We got flashes, tho I'd've loved a full blown flash back too. Loved to see em date 🥰.

The side characters are awesome. With Col's cool granny, & queer MC, Harper's sweet "host" family! After reading many angsty books, this was the low-angst story I needed! RTC.

There was something about him that, even after all this time, still felt so perfect.

Collin and Harper met six years ago in a bar where Harper was just a nervous young man looking for a man to hook up with to help him figure out his sexuality. Collin was a big and burly guy who rode a Harley but he treated Harper with care that night and their time together stuck with them both over the years. Harper recently moved to a new town and by chance crosses paths with Collin again. As they reconnect and try for something real after six years, will the reality live up to the memories they’ve harbored all this time?

We’d barely even started, but the love bubble I was in with him felt bigger than any other new relationship I’d had. There was no denying I was completely smitten with him. Though, I had been for most of my adult life.

This was a very sweet story. I haven’t read any of the other books in the series yet but this one was fine to standalone. It was angst-free and full of good vibes and swoon. Collin may have been a big, bearded guy who was part of a motorcycle club but he also owned his own crochet business and was an absolute teddy bear. Through flashbacks, we get to see a little from the night he and Harper spent together six years ago and it was easy to see why Harper was so hung up on him for all that time. Collin was so kind and gentle with him, traits that continued when they met again.

Collin and Harper were very sweet together and they were also pretty insatiable for one another. There was no shortage of steamy scenes, including some unique uses of yarn/crochet! They didn’t face any real challenges to their burgeoning relationship, you get to just sit back and enjoy them being all loved up. Sometimes that’s just what you need!

For every dream I’d had with him in it, nothing of his younger self compared to the person who stood before me now.

I enjoyed the secondary characters as well, especially Collin’s grandmother, Iris. She was a hoot and I loved their relationship and how welcoming she was to Harper. Overall this was an easy, breezy read that’ll leave your heart feeling all warm and fuzzy by the end.

"You came into my life when I needed you, and then you vanished. I spent years chasing the ghost of you and couldn’t believe it when I’d actually found you again.”

Y’all. Yarn & Yearnings is book 3 in Duckie’s Heartcraft Market Series and features Collin, a crocheting biker (36) and Harper, the younger, sweet one night stand (25) from six years before. Both of these guys still think about the other and when they finally have the second meet cute at the market, Harper scuttles away in panic and Collin hunts him down.

“𝑰 𝒓𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒎𝒃𝒆𝒓 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒏𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕, 𝒔𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕.”

These two were SO FRIGGIN CUTE. Both of them were GONE on the other. So much passion and heat and cute moments. Harper was more confident and Collin was so happy to have him again. I loved the size difference and how utterly soft Collin was despite his appearance.

“𝑰 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒕𝒐 𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒎𝒆 𝒇𝒆𝒆𝒍 𝒂𝒔 𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒉𝒆𝒅 𝒂𝒔 𝑰 𝒅𝒊𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒇𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆. 𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒓𝒖𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒅 𝒎𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒂𝒏𝒚 𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒎𝒂𝒏. 𝑵𝒐 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒆𝒍𝒔𝒆 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝒂 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆. 𝑫𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒂𝒈𝒂𝒊𝒏. 𝑹𝒖𝒊𝒏 𝒎𝒆, 𝑪𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒏.”

I have to say this is once again a spicy, sweet, sensual love story from Duckie. The Heartcraft Market Series is her second series and it’s SO good. Small town with some of the most memorable romances! It was great seeing Nico and Dash again. I can’t wait for more!

Audio update
Kevin Earlywine and Curtis Michael Holland team up again for this audio and do a beautiful job in making these characters more real. What was a 4 star read for me is a 5 star audio. The characters feel more real when hearing their words aloud.

What starts off, and hot and wild passion turns into a true romance. Colin & Harper had a one night stand years ago and haven't been able to let the other go. They felt that connection even though no names were given, they'd try to find another again. With the help and encouragement of a crazy octogenarian and a local florist, these two get their second chance for something real this time around.
This does start off as heat over feelings, but in time, you can feel that switch in the characters when it becomes more than hormones. Both men have amazing support systems and am so happy to see they both have that in this low angst, high heat read.

This was such a sweet story with two strangers who hooked up one night. Neither can quite forget the other, so when they meet again at the local craft and food market they are both shocked. Harper is trying to find his footing after college, being able to use his degree has been difficult. Working at a local feed store isn't his dream. So meeting a new friend after helping with some recommendations leads him to Collin, his one night stand.

They had such a sweet connection and enjoyed seeing them find each other again.

Yarn and Yearnings is a schmoopy, second chance romance with a standout side character... sometimes the universe puts you in the right place at the right time for a second chance... and that's the gist of this book... especially since it means Harper has moved in with his ex-girlfriend's parents! Not only do Harper and Collin get a chance to re-connect, but we get oodles of fun with Collie's grandmother, Iris! Now that woman is a live wire!

As with the other books in this series, this one can be read standalone, especially since the only other real market connection is the man whose book is next in the series, but if you love a good low angst story where the characters break the molds, you'll want to add this one to your TBR.

Yarn & Yearnings
Heartcraft Market
Duckie Mack
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice: 🌶🌶🌶

I have loved both previous books in the series and Yarn & Yearnings is another win for this series.

Y&Y is the perfect blend of sweet and spicy. Collin and Harper are too freaking adorable for words. They compliment each other so well even with the significant age gap. They build each other up and don’t take each other for granted.

Heartcraft market itself is just a really cool place and I’d love to visit, not just because everyone seems to find their match. All of the shops have such unique things. I even enjoy the shops that haven’t been in any of the previous book.

I love the juxtaposition of this big, burly, biker crocheting all of these small delicate things. Collin’s exterior appearance hides this really sweet guy.

Harper is just an adorable mess that is trying to balance his bi identity, his break up with his girlfriend and living with her parents.

All of the side characters in this are amazing! Collin’s grandmother is an eccentric delight and Harper’s ex’s parents are so warm and welcoming to him it warms my cold, black heart.

I am beyond excited for book 4, Bouquets & Belongings to be released.

Okay.. Chapter 1 in and I was hooked.. and crying but totally not the fault of Duckie.

When I say I devoured this book, I mean it. I stayed up way to late to read this and finish and I am so glad that I did because Collin & Harper are it.

I have wanted to know more about the crocheter in this series since Evan went to his tent in book 2.
Collin was everything I never expected, he's a biker who crochets but also who takes care of his grandmother. Having been someone who had such a close relationship with my grandmother and who is also a crafter this made me smile so much but also teary eyed. Their relationship resembled mine so much. I miss mine.
I adored Harper. To me Harper needed a hug and one from a friend. I am so happy he found his friend in Marley but also Collin. Harper being from outside and coming into the fold in a way made this book what it is. Harper was always looking for the person who made him happy if only for that short time but still the impression was one to never forget, after all we never forget our firsts. Good or bad.

Yarn & Yearnings lives to the title..
There is yarn and some very creative uses for it too but there is the yearning and that is what makes this book so perfect for the title, in my opinion. When you want something so much that when it happens, everything clicks into place.

Now I cant not do this review and not mention grandma Iris. She is the grandma everyone should have. The understanding, acceptance but also the best friend you never knew you needed. Her cheekiness was perfect and made me smile so much that I was laughing when it came to her conversations with Collin. I definitely loved her right out the gate.

I am glad that I found this series and have loved everyone so far, Dash & Evan were my favorites so far but it might be tied with Collin & Harper (and Iris). We shall see what comes from the other characters of this series before I make a final choice.

Another wonderful story in the “Heartcraft Market” series by this wonderful author, Duckie Mack. It’s the third book and we’ve been introduced to one of the MCs in the second book. I’d recommend you read them in order although it can be a standalone. I love that a burly hot bear who rides motorcycle loves to crochet! Not your typical stereotypical hogwash! I’d give this one more than 5 stars reading!

The story focuses on Collin this adorable Harley riding bear who crochets and sell his creations at the Heartcraft Market. He had started crocheting when he was a young lad who was being taken care of by his sweet grandma. She had taught him to crochet just so he would stay still and it worked. He grew up and takes care of his grandma. While doing that, he would fondly remember that one night stand many years ago with this hot guy, wishing he could revisit that hot scene once again.

Harper was a green thumb guy who had broken up with his fiancée but is staying with her parents. He has had strings of bad luck with ladies he dated. On the side, he would secretly compare that hot hook-up many years ago with his dating and none of them would live up to that hot scene. One day, he was strolling at the Heartcrafts market and happened to bump into Collin. What did he do? He ran away. Collin wanted to chase him but he couldn’t leave his stall unmanned. I’ll just stop right there and have you pick up the book to find out what happens next. A wonderful reading!

This is the 3rd in a series but can be read standalone. Second chance, age gap, bi-awakening, low angst with a huge teddy bear biker and the guy that got away 6 years ago.

This is more a shared world series than anything else, there are mentions of the other couples in the series but this can easily be read standalone. 6 years ago Collin and Harper had a one night stand, no names, and since then they haven't been able to stop thinking about each other. By chance, they meet again at Heartcraft Market as Harper has moved to the town where Collin lives, and they reconnect. I loved Collin, he's this big burly biker dude who is the most massive teddy bear, he lives with his Grandma (who is amazing), and he crochets for a living, selling his items at the market. Harper is younger, just out of college and trying to find himself and his find his place in the world.

I loved these two, they're just the absolute sweetest together, Collin is so gentle with Harper and they just absolutely fit together, it's like they always belonged together. There's no angst, no fly in the ointment, just a super sweet and warm story of two souls coming back together at the right time and making it work. It's such a lovely low angst, warm story - it's like a hug in book form. I adored this and cannot wait for Marley's story now.

I received an ARC and this is my honest review.

I have adored all of Duckie's work, and I loved this one just as much! I loved the concept of Collin's outward appearance portraying one thing, but him being completely different. I adored the fact how he was a soft cuddly bear of a person and how he was so passionate about crocheting, it was so cute!

Harper's character was so bubbly and full of life, I really adored his character too. These two just fit together so beautifully! After a hookup that happened years ago these two never forgot about one another, they were always thinking about the other. I liked how once these two found each other again they didn't waste time reconnecting.

They both knew they wanted to be in each other's lives and to see where things went, and they made sure not to waste time. I loved Ivy's character, she was hilarious and so kooky!! She's full of life and adds such a silly humor to the story, I just loved her! This book was full of fluff, cute characters, and a meddling grandma who has a routine scoping out candidates at the diner. Overall a really great story! I'm so excited to see whose story is next.

I will never not love the main characters that Duckie creates for this series. Collin and Harper were so sweet together and I loved watching them both find their happily ever-after with each other and within their community.

Duckie always writes the sweetest of characters, and Harper and Collin definitely fit the bill. I spent the entirety of this book just wishing Collin and Harper were real and the sort of people I could befriend in reality. In the older, caretaker role, Collin was just the best boyfriend, friend, and grandson. And I loved watching Harper come into his own and learn more about his path and career going forward.

This was a love story, but more importantly, this was a story about found family and finding yourself. There were so many great new characters to meet in this book, but I absolutely loved seeing cameos from so many past characters as well. This sweet romance can easily be read as a standalone (if you're here for the crocheting) but it also makes for a great addition to the Heartcraft Market series.

This is one of my favorite books in this series, and I can't wait to see what Duckie has in store for the next book.

Collin and Harper had a one night stand with no names exchanged. Fast forward 6 years. They both are still dreaming of each other. Whatever bar Harper went in, he always wished to see Collin again. With Harper moving to a new city, not knowing many people. Harper friends Marley who informed him of a market. That is where  they finally had their chance meeting. Harper was rendered speechless when he ran into Collin so much so freaked and ran. Collin was determined to find him and would do anything.

Collin is a big burly biker who crochets and cares for his grandmother is a snuggle teddy bear.

These two are just the cutiest. I squealed like a teenager when they finally ran into each other. I found myself smiling reading this story. It was the sweetest I have read in a long time. There was no drama. Just a lot of love. Oh, and can we talk about Grandma. What a spitfire she is. The absolute best. I laughed so much with her.

I am happy Marley's gets his story. I look forward to reading it. This is a standalone with a HEA.

I love this series by Duckie Mack!! Each book has had standout characters. I feel like each book, those characters are my favorite. Fickle, right? Yet each book I feel like there is more to love.

Collin and Harper are strangers and yet not. This is truly a second chance romance not in that they had a huge breakup originally, but rather they were ships passing in the night. A truly wonderful night that left both searching for the other in every bar, club, and green eyed man they met. When they finally find each other again, let’s just say a whirlwind that moves not too fast and not too slow is the speed with which they get together.

Yarn & Yearnings brings us classic Duckie Mack romance. It is so romantic at time that I felt my heart was so full. I tagged so many lines that were just beautiful. There are also plenty of spicy times mixed in. I think my favorite line is “see you in three minutes.” I used to think Love Bank would always be my favorite series, but I am willing to admit that I think everything Duckie writes will fall among my favorites.

Oh! My goodness! This is seriously one of the sweetest stories I have ever read, honestly this whole series is lovely. Collin is a scary looking biker who really is full of sunshine. Harper is a young man learning his way in the world. Harper ventures out one night looking to punch that v-card and is guided by Collin in the best night either of them have ever had. But, Harper says no names and no second times.

Several years later finds Harper living close to Collin without knowing it. Their second meet cute is freaking adorable. Collin has been thinking of Harper often and wishes he knew how to reach out to him. When Collin finds out Harper is close he knows he has to try for that second chance.

This story features a cast of characters you need in your life. Especially Collin's grandmother. Yarn and Yearnings is the third book in The Heartcraft series. All of Duckie's stories feature the most lovable of men and watching them get their hea is always a treat.

Duckie writes such sweet stories and this one is no different. However, it did have a twist when it came to Collin and Harper's relationship. And it was a good twist.

A burly biker who crochets meets a nervous young guy who ends up making such an impact on him that he can't think of anyone else for years.

I loved how Collin and Harper met again. It was a complete fluke that they happen to know the same guy who set their meet up in motion.

There are so many interesting characters in this book. One's I wouldn't mind reading more about, but it was Iris, Collin’s gran, that was by far my favourite. She reminded me so much of my Nana. She had no filter, loved teasing her grandchildren and enjoyed checking out butts when she went out.

This book is definitely an opposites attract story about a burly biker and his cute, little sweetheart.

This book is so cute! I am loving learning more about the market and the makers. This book features Collin and Harper. Two men who had met once years before. Harper was a virgin, and was going to college. He met a man in a bar and acted completely unlike himself, which lead to Collin.
Skip forward 6 years and we learn both men are dreaming about eachother and wishing they had more time and had learned eachothers names. They both go to cute extremes trying to find eachother and it's by chance that harper runs into Collin at HeartCraft. I loved our introduction to Marley. I love love love IRIS! That woman is amazing!
The only reason I didn't rate this 5 stars is because we didn't see much of the market!

I loved Collin and Harper.

Collin and Harper first met six years ago and instantly connected, but due to the fact that Harper did not want to exchange names, they went their separate ways.

Six years and much pining later, they are reunited. After their reunion they pick up right where they left off as if they were apart a few weeks instead of several years.

Collin is also a big burly biker who loves to crochet and Harper is a bidding environmentalist. Oh the things they do with yarn.

We are also introduced to Collin's grandmother, Iris/Gran, who's a hoot.

I highly recommend this book.

When u woke up today I had a notification that this book #3 in the series had been a released so I had to start it. Well, I finished it today too. It was sooooo good. This had me hooked (pun intended) from the first chapter. I didn’t want to put the book (or my kindle down). I think this was my fave in the series and I LOVED Dash from #2. Colin and Harper were a perfect pair. This was a no angst story with lots of lovey dovey moments and I loved it. Duckie does it again with her awesome story lines. Easy to read story with some heat and a lot of tender moments. The epilogue had me crying tears of happiness.

They're adorable <3 <3

They've been pining for years, and they finally found each other.

Collin is a loveable best of a man who cares for his Gran and crochets. Harper is a young, sweet boy who has been cast adrift by his girlfriend dumping him and finishing college. (Who knew degrees weren't always a magic job magnet?)

Collin ruined Harper for all men 6 years before, and they've been looking for each other since. Marley, the pink haired florist, gives them the hints they need and after that it's bathroom blowies and a very, very nice sex scene.

Along with a cast of real Characters, watch Harper and Collin find their happily ever after.

This was an adorable book. I loved all of the characters, especially Collin’s grandma, Iris.
Harper and Collin met 6 years ago during one night of exploratory passion and they’ve kept their attraction for one another ever since. I love a good second-chance romance and while they didn’t exactly have a relationship in the past, they made a lasting impression on one another. I haven’t had a chance to read the first two stories but this one was absolutely wonderful and I believe it was my first Duckie Mack book. I’m looking forward to reading more from this author, in this series and beyond!

Yarn & Yearnings is the 3rd book in the Heartcraft Market series. It can be read as a standalone story but why not enjoy the whole series. This is Collin and Harpers story. Collin and Harper who had a one night stand meet again after six years and things take off from there. This book has all the heat and passion you can ask for. I love how Duckie writes the characters. These two are just so perfect together. I was pulled in and hooked from the beginning and had to read the story as fast as possible. Now I want to read it again to savoir it. I would definitely recommend this book and series.

This book made me think "Awwwhh" right away! Collin and Harper had a one night stand years ago and ended it without names. All these years they have looked for each other and finally saw each other at the Heartcraft Market. I am a sucker for big bears calling their smaller loves "Sweetheart" and Collin automatically knows Harper is his. I loved how Duckie managed to incorporate motorcycle clubs, craft shows and crocheting all in one book. It's a romantic tender story and now my favorite Duckie book. I received a copy of this book and this is my voluntary opinion.

"Okay, but we don't have time for you to choke the chicken...."

I absolutely adored this book (and I'm absolutely loving this series !!). You can read the books as standalones .... just note though, other characters do have a cameo/link to an MC in next book. So, this book had me rolling with laughter - Gran, you are da'bomb !!! And it's also a very sweet second chance story - 6 years in the making !! How they reconnect and then the rest - swoon, so heart-felt and romantic. A very very enjoyable book !!

Fell in love with these boys and the love story as easy as it fell off the page. Low angst from the outside world. High heat each scene had its own level and meaning. Love the ride scenes as well. The characters are fun and loveable. And loved getting to know them. My creative heart went out to a man who knows what to do with a crochet hook. A perfect fit into our heart market world and can't wait to see what comes next

Last weekend I had the pleasure of reading Duckie Mack's Yarn and Yearnings. I had been eyeing it up since before it came out, and I finally got the chance to dive in. Let me say, dive in is exactly what I did! These two were so easy to fall in love with, especially Collin. Duckie's writing style is easy to read, her characters are loveable, and she brings both sweet and spice like the finest chili chocolate bar.
Bottom line, 5 stars all around!

Amazing book

Oh wow, I loved this book so much. Harper and Collin are absolutely beautiful characters and to read their story was so wonderful. It was so heartwarming to read about them finding each other again after 6 years and falling in love as they were always meant to. This book is so sweet, funny (especially Gran) with some really steamy times including creative use of yarn. I absolutely couldn’t put it down. Highly recommended to everyone.
