"42" is Lowrey E. Gray's debut publication. It consists of 42 poems written when the poet was 42 during 2020/21.

The collection is written in a very accessible, lyrical style and focuses on the themes of connection and celebration of life in a time when so little was stable or familiar.

The poems span myraid topics from memories, separation and connection, to ancestry, parenting and rediscovery.

"42" was written to reach out to people in a time of physical separation and is a beautifully uplifting collection which can be read chronologically or dipped in and out of. The pieces hold their own in isolation as much as they form part of this eclectic literary tapsetry of a life.

This is an often startling and frequently impressively articulated series of life moments refracted through the lens of the Covid lockdown years and the start of a "Fifth Decade" - poignant, funny, acerbic, insightful...you never quite know what you'll get when you turn the page, but it's a real box of delights.
