There’s something powerful about praying God’s Word over our lives and writing. By ‘praying God’s Word’ we’re talking about piggybacking off of the words and prayers found throughout the Scriptures.

Utilizing God’s Word in our prayers is like laying down kindling to help start a fire in our own hearts. If we need a prayer jumpstart, we can lift up the many prayers found throughout the Bible while adjusting those prayers for our own personal situation.

As Christian writers and creatives, we relate to the Kingdom writers of old as we also endeavor to write words that outlive us and impact others coming behind us.

If we seek to write potent words of lasting substance, we must be people of prayer who are also led by the same Holy Spirit.

STOP and look at this book, Prayers For Writers, by CJ and Shelly Hitz! I’ve read the book, and I will be reading it again and again and again! YES, this book speaks directly to authors and writers, but guess what? It’s not exclusively for writers because you can substitute any profession or calling for the word, writer. This book was written for YOU! Don’t pass it by! My life has fresh joy through their creatively written prayers enlarged from passages in the Bible. I’m seeing things in a creatively new light. I have a new perspective through these written prayers which have brought me closer in my own prayer chats with my Lord Jesus. Guidance through these easily read and heartfelt prayers has made it easier to speak things in my heart to the Lord. If you’ve ever felt even the slightest disconnect in your prayer life, this book of prayers will reconnect you with abundant joy in communication with the Savior! And if you’ve never ever felt a disconnect, these written prayers will still add overwhelming love to your prayer life. Thank you, authors CJ and Shelly, for bringing my sometimes black-and-white prayer life back into full blown color! Thank you for following God’s will and writing this book. I’m going to watch for more books from you along this vein. I’m thankful that I was provided this book by the authors so that I could write my honest review and post it here on Amazon. As you can tell, I highly, highly recommend this book!

I want to tell you that I read the prayers and Scriptures in this book out loud for 3 days, and the brokenness of the writers, who KNOW that without Jesus, "we can do nothing", the specific verses attached were very healing and restorative. Your book really lifted me out of despair during this season of unemployment, surgery recovery and inner healing from an abusive boss. God used this to bring a breakthrough I desperately needed. Hallelujah!

Both my husband and I are evangelist/pastors who live in the metro NYC area. It’s a warzone, but we’re happy to be where the Lord has placed us as Lights and Ambassadors for Jesus. That said, we go through attacks, and staying tight with Jesus and staying strong in the Word is crucial. The "21 Prayers for Writers"
was different, anointed, and something I have never read before. I would say that if you are a pastor, do Biblical public speaking or any kind of ministry, this is a wonderful book. And I strongly sensed the Presence of God and His comfort as I spoke each section out loud.

This book is for anyone, not just writers, but for anyone who wants to be used by God.
The greater the breaking, the greater the anointing to be used by our Wonderful Jesus.
Praying the Word is amazingly powerful, especially for breakthrough. I'm a retired English teacher and know the challenges of not only writing, but the importance of being anointed by God.

This is honestly written in response to my receiving a free copy of this lovely book.

Author CJ Hitz uses bold, strategic prayers asking for a limitless God to do with the writing what only He can do and reach into the hearts of the readers to be impactful and life changing. The writing leads the reader into a spirit of repentance, humility and acknowledgement that we each need a genuine revival within our lives.
Author Hitz writes in a way that the reader feels the words are leaping from the page, fresh and vibrant. There is a very easy engagement with the authors dialogue with God and the reader feeling connected and apart of the material. There is certainly a challenge for the reader to allow the Holy Spirit to be the leader, director and shaper of the mind and spirit as the reader is challenged and stretched to allow their writings to be fruitful and multiply.
There are practical application methods throughout the book with each chapter/topic allowing the reader to create a strong foundation to build upon as they move throughout the material. Any author new or old will benefit from this refreshing book.

Every chapter of this amazing book ignites a spark of fire in my heart to pray.

This amazing piece of work is a good jumpstart for your prayer life. It is well formatted, and each chapter opens up with a beautiful picture depicting the prayer topic.

It is well suited, particularly for writers, but also relevant to everyone who seeks a leap in their prayer life.

You will find powerful words of prayer drawn from God's word covering topics like protection, strength, guidance, and much more.

I highly recommend this amazing book to everyone who seeks to revive their prayer life.

Although I am not a published writer, and write informally for my own spiritual development and to enhance Bible study and public speaking opportunities, this book spoke for the writer in me. The prayers were categorized in areas that anyone who desires to invest in devotional writing would experience. The scripture based prayers, and corresponding verse references allow for continuous meditation on our petition and expectations for the balance of the writing day. I'd recommend every experienced and aspiring writer use this resource to set the tone and task to usher in and be reminded of God's presence in our writing.

I have long been fascinated by prayer. Why do we pray? How do we pray? Is there a correct way to pray? I am a firm believer in prayer but, I have never really thought about praying over my writing. Maybe I thought it just wasn't that important. 21 Prayers for Writers made me take a second look at that. Should we not pray over all aspects of our lives? The prayers and accompanying scripture gave me new focus and inspiration. I will be more mindful about what I write. This book could really apply to any vocation, not just writers. I found this book to be a source of encouragement and redirection for my goals.

Excellent prayer ideas, covering everything and beyond what I’ve thought of! The only suggestion for a reprint of the book is to make more space for writing in personal prayers, or make it more like a journal…considering the reader is most likely a writer! I ended up typing up my own prayers and pasting between the chapters in the book. The little box to write in was ridiculously small. I still recommended the book to my writer friends!

What a powerful prayer devotional for writers as well as for any Christian who wants to have a closer walk with God. 21 relevant prayers covering every aspect of our relationship with God, written without any fuss or presence, just speaking straight from the heart. Small but mighty. I highlighted a few good verses, and I plan on re reading when I need a boost ❤️.
I wish it had a bigger area to write your personal prayer in. My handwriting never fit 🤣 and I used extra sheets of paper. The formatting was weird too. I felt like the gutters were massive and left a lot of blank areas, but that's just me being a brat.
It's a great little book of encouragement 😊

A short, powerful read. I'm typically a speed reader, so I had to force myself to slow down and really focus on the words. It was worth it. This is a very helpful book for any Christian author to help him or her get the focus of himself, and look to God.

This is a wonderful book, not just for writers, but anyone who wants inspiration, provision and guidance for their lives in any aspect of their lives, family, work, ministry, career, relationships, health or finances. It is small and concise but powerful in providing words and meaning to our communication with God in prayers, especially when life circumstances make it difficult to find our own words.

Praying for words that will honor God

This book of prayers for Kingdom writers is filled with scriptures that encourage writers to write the things God has put on their hearts—and to write them well. Each of the 21 chapters has a prayer and prompts the reader to write his or her own prayer. This book should be read prayerfully one chapter at a time, and it will help all writers to write words that are fitly spoken like apples of gold in settings of silver. I highly recommend it.
