Beautiful photos, although would like just the landscape without people. Stories are interesting.

I’m five recipes in and only one has been successful. I’m finding the directions incredibly hard to follow. I think in some recipes it is assumed you know professional techniques. Others the numbers don’t match up…too much or too little of ingredients making for wet or too salty. Made the ceidlh scones and they were very very salty. Abernathy cookies were bland with very liquidy cream filling. Stout brownies were extremely wet / uncooked in the middle. Raspberry cookies were sublime.

It’s getting expensive trying these recipes out. I will be checking proportions against those on the internet from now on.

5/5 for pictures and 1/5 for recipes with hope this turns around.

I love books like this. The ones that have not only recipes, but show us the lifestyle, the people, the customs, etc. I'm a plant-based chef, but I was able to veganize all the recipes I have tried so far. And I can't wait to travel to Scottland one day.

This book was such a treat! I would love to attempt many of the recipes someday.

I loved how the history of Scotland and any of the recipes shown were mixed in with beautiful pictures of Scotland and his beloved dog.

Highly recommend this book, especially if you enjoy Scottish cuisine.

This cookbook is simply amazing. Part history and culture from the Scottish highlands and recipes galore. The recipes were easy to follow and make. The photographs are beautiful.
