I am Misty Vixen (not my real name obviously), and I imagine that if you’re reading this, you want to know a bit more about me.
In the beginning (late 2014), I was an erotica author. I wrote about sex, specifically about human men banging hot inhuman women. Monster girls, alien ladies, paranormal babes. It was a lot of fun, but as the years went on, I realized that I was actually striving to be a harem author. This didn’t truly occur to me until late 2019-early 2020. Once the realization fully hit, I began doing research on what it meant to be a harem author. I’m kind of a slow learner, so it’s taken me a bit to figure it all out.
That being said, I’m now a harem author!
Just about everything I write nowadays is harem fiction: one man in loving, romantic, highly sexual relationships with several women. Nowadays, I tend to write more human on human stuff, but I still have a lot of non-human ladies in mind for the future, so if that’s your thing then stick around.
I’d say beyond writing harems, I tend to have themes that I always explore in my fiction, and they encompass things like trust, communication, respect, honesty, dealing with emotional problems in a mature way…basically I like writing about functional and healthy relationships. Not every relationship is perfect, but I don’t really do drama unless the story actually calls for it. In total honesty, I hate drama. I hate people lying to each other and I hate needless rom-com BS plots that could have been solved by two characters having a two minute conversation.
There are eight races in this series -- humans, elves, karn (lizard folk), merfolk, embyr (like on the cover), nymphs, the tall and extra-fingered race of A site's people, and Jak's people.
The final campaign was deftly handled, though I wondered how they were getting enough seafood to keep everyone fed, but no matter. The villain was tough, and the solution to the necromancy and dead creatures was believable. Well worth the long build up. Thus far, the best series by the author. Look forward to seeing what's next. Enjoyed.
4.5 stars. A solid ending to the series, and the series overall was well paced to bring the overall arc to a satisfying confusion.
While these are not the absolute best books this year, they have been a good mix of action, community/base building and relationship dynamics. The MC is well balanced and the women, while some get slightly sidelined depending on the book, are a good team. Very well executed for what it is.
Reading the final book in a series is always a bit melancholy for me. Especially when I have enjoyed the series as much as I have this one. Misty weaves a tale with the right amount of action adventure and spice. If you haven't read the series do so, you will not be disappointed.
The series ends in an entertaining fashion. The build up to the final battle does take a bit longer than one would hope but the battle itself and the epilogue that follows is the perfect send off for the series. I can safely recommend all of Raw as a series for fans of Primeval Fantasies and look forward to reading more of Misty Vixen's works in the future.
All good things must come to an end, and this was a competent conclusion. While I don’t consider this series great, it was dependably solid throughout, and I enjoyed my time with it. I am currently undecided whether I will read more of this author or not. Time will tell.
A good balance of action and adventure with well rounded characters. The action flowed well for the most part, though it had a few issues. Overall the series was a great and it is a must read.
Jak knew each of his women had different tastes and interests that would make his bond with them stronger and also killing the evil magicians would bring peace to the island
I was concerned regarding the end of this story but was pleasantly surprised with the conclusion and wording used. Really appreciate your work on this story. You Rock!
I can’t imagine this was an easy series to write, but the author did a wonderful job of it. Then again, this author has a habit of writing interesting, intriguing stories that are quite far off the beaten path. Thanks, Author Vixen!
