amy elizabeth vaughn is a new jersey-born poet, writer, and earth lover. her writings explore mental health, healing, love, nature, and what it means to be human.

she has been writing poetry for over fifteen years and has a degree in english literature from montclair state university.

when she’s not writing, she can usually be found buried in a book, oat milk latte in hand, and hanging out with her best friend & cat, baya.

First, the book itself is an artistic masterpiece. Woven with beautiful illustrations and intricate formatting, this is a stunning title to add to any home library. And the writing - wow the writing. I’ve never read another poet quite like Amy. Her unique style stands out. The way she weaves words to paint detailed pictures that tell heart warming and wrenching stories, every poem is a treat for the senses. She takes you into her creative world, where she builds stages and orates a relatable truth that makes you feel something - like all exceptional authors. I recommend this book absolutely! All poetry readers will love it!

This book was so enjoyable from start to finish. The layout of the work was absolutely perfect, and I loved loved loved how the whole book felt like a rare find in an antique shop. From the vintage artwork, to the way Amy’s writing takes museums of art and liquifies them into ink put to paper, this book was a comfort read through and through. Her writing is unique, powerful, breathtaking, and unlike any other poet’s work I’ve read. I know I will pick this up time and time again to curl up enjoy.

Earth Tides is a poetry book that I could pick up several times and still be awe-struck. Amy is a truly gifted writer. The words she used are captivating and dreamy, and the messages are so profound and relatable. I read a pdf copy and was in love with the design and illustrations as well. I really look forward to getting a physical copy.

I took my time reading this book, savoring it, enjoying every bit of it. This was the most aesthetically pleasing collection I have ever read, and I am so honored to have it on my shelf! I absolutely adored the illustrations and felt that they connected together with the pieces so well. I kept this book in my purse for weeks and read it bit by bit, which was the best way to read it 💗 Amy’s voice flows throughout every syllable, sharing nature, love, lust, and healing in an all new light. By far, my favorite from this collection is “Muse”.

The poetry in this book is simply beautiful.
The artwork feels very worthy of each poem and adds to the storytelling.
I loved the cover art design of the book as well.

However, the font was very small in this book so it took me a long time to get through the book.
(It took me over a month to finish this book - as I didn't want to go back and strain my eyes.)
And while I loved the artwork within the pages, sometimes the larger artwork took away from the Amy Elizabeth's beautiful words.

Amy Elizabeth Vaughn's "Earth Tides" is a poetic gem. Divided into elemental sections, the collection beautifully explores different parts of the human experience. The poet's authenticity shines, making each piece uniquely touching. A few of my personal favourite poems were David, Ritual, Text Back Days Later and My Recent Google Searches. Earth Tides is a compelling debut collection with stunning art throughout and one of the most beautiful covers I've ever seen! Highly recommended.

‘Earth Tides’ is an enthralling collection of poetry that’s rich with awe-inducing imagery: both in her words and the illustrations that accompany them. The author exposes her vulnerability in such a divine way, and explores many topics throughout each section. I specifically loved the poems: a pink (full) moon delirium, sage, poconos mornings, aurorae’s hour, and everyone brave is forgiven.

I hope she releases more books in the future!

LITERALLY this is one of the most beautiful collections of poetry ever to exist at least of this generation. The artwork, the vocabulary, the hints of mythology embedded in so many of the pieces, the vulnerability, the EVERYTHING. i annotated so much. i felt so much. i need everyone to read this book. Amy Elizabeth Vaughn is an incredible writer. please read her words.
