Bound to the Cowboy

Rate this book
The moment that grumpy cowboy strode up in his half-buttoned shirt, looking like a tall drink of water — I knew I was a goner.

Dealing with someone like Carter Hill was not what I’d signed up for.

This was just supposed to be a temp job, a punishment from my sleazy boss after I refused to give him a you-know-what.

The plan was simple — Get in, fix the horse, then get back to my life within a few weeks.

Except the horse I’d been sent to rehab ended up being way more complex than I’d imagined.

But my attraction to this sexy, muscled and condescending rancher is about a hundred times more challenging than anything on four legs.

We’re butting heads from the moment we meet. And on a small ranch, it’s damn near impossible to keep your distance.

Even harder? Preventing the constant push-and-pull between us from combusting… into a smoldering fire.

Which is why it doesn’t take long before our hands, lips, everything are all over each other.

But beneath Carter’s stoic facade is a soulful man with a broken past.

I can’t help wanting to rehab the cowboy, too…in countless ways.

If I stay, I risk my job, my reputation… and my career.

Walking away means I’ll lose out on forever — with the man who has branded my heart.

Bound to the Cowboy is a steamy age-gap, opposites attract, off-limits small town romance. Packed with light humor, forced proximity, and grumpy-meets-sunshine main characters. Standalone/HEA.

What an enjoyable book. Carter and Allie are both broken by the loss of important people in their lives and neither is sure about letting someone else in. Love Kenny and Kenneth!

I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.

Nothing that interesting to keep my attention...

– Dual pov
– Both celibate for a bit (I think)
– Rancher H/physical therapist h
– No cheating or OM drama
– OW drama: H had an ex that looked like h and broke up with him to marry h's boss, he talks about her all. the. time!!! Like, we get it already!
– HEA ending + epilogue

Allie and Carter narrate their points of view in this romantic masterpiece by the prolific pen of Farrah Jane . Allie Myers as a horse Physical Therapist reflects that horses unlike people are non judgemental. Carter Hill is one of the brothers whose horse she has been sent by her horrible boss to treat at their ranch in California, she’d rather go to the Derby with the rest of the girls on staff at Royce Buckley’s stables but Royce put a spoke in her tyre in that regard because she didn’t succumb to his sexual advances. The silver lining is that the Hill ranch is just a little distance from her big brother Marcus , her rock . .. Carter for one is not happy to hear that the good for nothing Royce is sending his own PT to rehabilitate the horse he’s buying. There’s conflict as soon as her and Carter meet and the chemistry arcs from the page. Agamemnon is easy compared to this arrogant , sexy ,muscular guy she tries to keep her distance from before being burnt from her lust…He’s all over her like a rash though and there’s steam that has nothing to do do with manure piles as there love explodes. But does she indeed stay bound to her cowboy or does she head for the hills and away to her dreams and career? Read this awesome book to find out. I promise you won’t want to put it down. It’s very well written and descriptive.

Allie Myers, a physical therapist for horses, was sent to Hill's ranch to inspect a house on behalf of her boss. However, Carter Hill was displeased to learn that Royce, who he deemed unreliable, was sending his own therapist to rehabilitate the horse he planned to purchase. Although Allie and Carter initially disagreed, they quickly found themselves strongly drawn to each other.

I recently finished reading this book and unfortunately, I didn't love it. The plot lacked cohesion and failed to engage me totally The storyline was average, the characters were forgettable, and the plot twists were easy to predict. To top it off, the ending was underwhelming. I'm not sure why Fedora refers to their hats like that. As an Australian, I've never heard of a cowboy hat being called a Fedora before. I received a complimentary advance review copy of the book and am offering my honest feedback voluntarily. 3.5 star read for me.

Okay, so if I could leave half-stars Bound to the Cowboy would be 4.5 stars.

I loved almost everything about Allie and Carter and the horses they care for.

What kept this from being a 5 star read for me is probably stupid to most. I could not stand the author referring to Stetsons (cowboy hats) as fedoras. Fedoras are a completely different type of hat. Is this completely minor? Yes, but it bugged me so much.

Also, Lily seemed (to me) like a completely unnecessary character.

Otherwise, I loved the dramatic tension between Allie and Carter, the romance, and the friendship between Kenny and Allie. I loved this book.

Must read this was a page turner and the suspense was good. I was at the edge of my seat and could not put it down. I love this story. Allie and Carter had a romantic physical tension going on they meet and the chemistry was sizzling hot. But her friendship with Kenny might be civil because Carter and him did not get along with each other. If Carter love Allie he have to get along with Kenny. Could Allie lose her friendship with Kenny. Was Kenny falling for his best friend. What would Allie do next about her friendship and her physical romance relationship? I highly recommend this book and you will not be disappointed. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.Trina Jones

I love everything Isla (Now known as Farrah) writes.
This is a Small Town, Age-Gap, Close Proximity, Workplace Romance, Enemies To Lovers, Opposite Attracts and GrumpySunshine Tropes.

This Is about Carter and Allie. Loved their disputes, witty banter and their hot interactions.
Allie has been punished to come and work with a horse instead of having fun with her friends.
The owner of that horse isn't happy. That owner is yes, it's Carter. They get off on the wrong foot but their chemistry is sizzling from the start. The characters development was evident throughout..
Read and find out does her love for her career win or the love of her forever wins.
Very entertaining and fantastic read.

This is the story of Allie Myers (horse Physical Therapist) and Carter Hill (Horse ranch owner) story. She relates to horses because unlike people they don't judge. Carter Hill is selling one of his horses to Royce Buckley's stables. They meet when she has to go to the brothers ranch in California. Royce sent her there instead of the Derby because she rebuffed his sexual advances. The story begins from there , she's happier as Hill ranch is just a little distance from her big brother Marcus! After several mishaps and differences in opinions they start to let their chemistry take off. So sit back and enjoy their ride. I wanted to love this one but as much as I liked Carter’s dad and the setting, I struggled with Allie and Carter themselves. They didn’t really connect until the ending and their love story felt rushed. Beyond that, the author confused many horse terms and I couldn’t quite figure out how Allie jumped from liking equine therapy to becoming an equine physical therapist (which is a totally different job) and somehow a horse whisperer/trainer who didn’t actually do much other than talk to horses? It just felt rushed. I wanted her and Carter to bond beyond silly jokes and most of their character development happened outside the relationship. However, the setting was great, and I loved Kenny and his pet pig.

Bound to the Cowboy

Both Carter and Allie has lost their moms at a young age. For Carter, it meant that the ranch lost the warmth and sunshine his mom had always brought to the ranch. Allie's loss led her to equine therapy as a child , which in turn developed into a love and understanding of horses and a future career. When Allie was sent to Carter's ranch as a punishment by her obnoxious boss, she brought the sunshine back to the ranch and his heart. Great characters and heartwarming storyline.

cute

Honestly it was a great spin on what may seem like a tired trope to some, but what I’d call classic instead: sunshine girl fixes grumpy cowboy who had his heart shattered. Except sunshine girl is an absolute outcast because she’s totally in touch with horses in a way she just isn’t with humans. She’d fit right in with Clementine from Done and Dusted. I was kind of disappointed at the lack of female characters here, but I understand the author’s decisions for that specific plot point. 4/5✨, 4/10🌶️🥒.

I received an ARC Copy of this book, and I voluntarily chose to review it. This is a well written story with great characters. I got a good laugh out of the author calling the cowboy hats fedoras. My grandparents used to call my grandfather's hat a fedora, it was not a cowboy hat. This one is worth your time. I would encourage everyone to go get this one. I think you will enjoy this one, I know I did.

I was disappointed with this book. It just didn’t flow smoothly, nor did it seem to catch and keep my attention. The storyline was just sort of meh; the characters lacked personality; the plot twists were really easy to navigate; and the HEA wasn’t all that exciting. I’d rate this book between 3.3 and 4.0 stars only. (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and found it disappointing.)

I loved reading this story the last few chapters had me wondering about the ending but absolutely loved it. It was such a page turner I read it in one sitting. This is not the first book by this author that I have read but it is my favorite. I hope this is the start of a series because I would absolutely love to read more from this world and see the characters grown in others stories. I definitely recommend this book.

Bound to the Cowboy is an emotionally gripping, heart-poundingly real, thought-provoking love story! Well-written, filled with complex and beautifully scarred characters, it spans the gamut of loss, trauma, sexual harrassment in the workplace, difficult family dynamics, and above all, acceptance and love. I could not put this book down, and you won’t be able to either!

Equine and Emotional Healing

Allies and Carter butt heads in the beginning but they are immensely attracted to each other. Once they are unable to resist the chemistry between them ignites. These two are great together.

I enjoyed this book. It was really in-depth with the characters thoughts, but as with all romances, they are never honest with each other. The Hill Family was a hoot, though I admit I was taken aback at first until I understood their family dynamic. I liked the heroine, though she really got herself in a tough spot. I liked this story and the characters and would recommend it!

This was a quick read that features a romance between horse physical therapist Allie and ranch owner Carter. They start out on the wrong foot, but chemistry soon takes over. A cute book with some cute banter and steam. It was interesting that the author called the cowboy hats Fedoras. An HEA an no cliffhanger. I read a free arc via Book Sirens and voluntarily chose to review it.

Carter and Allie’s story has you showing up per her boss because she wasn’t into doing him. But these two butt heads at every turn until it overflows and turns to more. This was a good age-gap, opposites attract story with realistic characters and steamy chemistry between them I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily

Allie and Carter had some great chemistry. I was hooked on this book!

I loved how the author worked the horse into the story. And the friendship between Allie and Kenny was adorable.

I found this story to be entertaining, with a great storyline. Would highly recommend.

perfect beach read

Definitely a solid beach read (which is where is read it). Good pace, nice story line, visits from characters of other books. Love how various stories tie together without be dependent on each other. Can’t wait to read more Farrah Kane/Isla Wilder books.

This was probably a “stuff your kindle” freebie.
The plot had some potential but the writing could really use the help of an editor. It was very disjointed, the inner monologues were cringy and there were too many adjectives, sometimes less is more when describing things.

DNF at 70%
So much potential with the plot and characters but was terribly boring. No connection between MC’s. FMC had a deeper connection to the MMC’s gay brother. I wanted to push through but too many potentially amazing books in my TBR list.

The characters were great. The story was sweet and very enjoyable. I loved that she was so good with horses. The only negative thing I could say is I wish Carter and her got together sooner.

Slow burn but sweet

Not my usual romance novel, but it was a super sweet book. Their histories aligned perfectly to create the best romance story for Allie and Carter.

This book was a very sweet slow burn romance. The characters were very cute. She is bubbly and he is grumpy and I love it. It is a short read and you can read as a stand alone. Kind of face paced due to how short it is meaning some of it was rushed but it didn’t ruin the book for me
