There is more to Tom Gray than we realized. After finishing book #1 of the trilogy, I was anxious to start Alan McDermott's next Tom Gray story - placing it before all others on my TBR list. I wasn't disappointed. In fact, this one was more enjoyable than book #1 in the series. There is much more action with plenty of twists and turns to keep readers on the edge of their seats. We also see a more deadly side to Tom Gray which wasn't so pronounced in book #1.
The story opens a year after the end of book #1 and Tom Gray is in the Philippines with a new name, face and life - thanks to the British government. However, Tom is soon kidnapped and held for ransom by a Muslim terrorist faction. Two of his friends are hired by the British Government to rescue Tom from his jungle prison. Except all is not as it seems.
Too many people are out to kill Tom Gray and he doesn't even know it yet. They are all on his trail and closing in. Will they succeed or will there be a Gray Resurrection? Highly recommended! If you chew your nails, put a couple coats of nail hardener on before starting this book and set aside the entire day because you won't be able to put it down. Great job Alan! Now to start book #3.

Did enjoy the book but just wasn't enough excitement. I was to glad finish it and do look forward to reading the next to see where the story goes.

Completely satisfying!! Loved it. Even better than the first book! I liked the first book but found it rather over-the-top. This time though, Tom Gray's political thriller action is just the right amount of sensational without being overdramatic. A rip-roaring adventure in the jungle of the Philippines has an extremist group kidnapping hostages and all the action you can pack into one book. I was glued to the pages from start to finish. Luckily I picked up books 3 and 4 on sale this month (July, 2015) and can't wait to see how Tom gets on in the next one. Great adrenaline rush!

Disappointing
Book 1 completely captivated me. I was really looking forward to seeing where the story went next and am sadly disappointed. This second book in the series seemed to be about nothing. There was no intent like with the first book. There was a skirmish and some buildup to the skirmish, but there was no history or very little in the way of illuminating what the skirmish was for. I’ll read book 3 because I do hope something comes together. But sadly, unlike with book 1, where I was quite glad I had given the series a try, with book 2, I’m sad I continued the series. Please let book 3 be better.

Tom Gray having survived the attack on his life has a new life complete with a new identity courtesy of the British Government. Unfortunately his troubles are far from over. When he is taken hostage by guerrillas and held for ransom he has to rely on his own skills, two faithful friends and his handler. But is all as it seems or is there a hidden agenda at play. If he cant escape, rescue the girl and figure out what is really going on then not only will his life be forfeit. I recommend listening to this pulse racing action packed suspense for free with Kindle Unlimited.

The question has to be asked. Is Alan McDermott in a reciprocal relationship with my private health provider? if I keep on reading these books, (I treated myself to the entire series), I am going to need everything they have to offer. My heart is racing, I can't breath, my stomach is churning and my jaw is clenched so tightly I may only ever be able to sip soup through a straw for the rest of my life....and I'm only on book 2!! Oh my giddy aunt, I may have to pace myself. Obviously 5 stars!! Now for a lie down in a darkened room.....

Assuming that your contributors have read the book, I'll spare them a shortened version of the story that seems to be a popular way of padding out the review.
While pushing bounds of credibility, the first book did it well, showed promise and set the scene well for the forthcoming series. However, this second book felt like it came to an abrupt end and, for once, I was unpleasantly surprised to be asked to buy the next book to get to the end of the story - possibly!
I haven't committed to that yet.

Tom Gray is now Sam Grant, trying to get on with life in the Philippines. But he is not free of his past with his life being controlled and manipulated by an agent of an unknown government department who will do what ever is needed to get a promotion so doesn't care for Sam.
When Sam is kidnapped by Abu Sayyaf terrorists all plans go out the window as he tries to survive.
A good read in the series and I look forward to the next book, sitting in my library waiting for me.

Another good one! This one was about Tom Gray getting taken by terrorists, who live up in the mountains, and he must call his company for a one-million-dollar ransom. He’s there with several other victims who are waiting for their ransom to be paid.
So, this left things way up in the air, so I must read the next one, Gray Redemption.
No sex and the F-bomb was used 7 times.
This is a free read and free listen.
As to the narration: As usual, James Langton does a fantastic job.

This was the second book i have read in the Tom Gray series and certainly it did not disappoint. Lots of action and everything moved at a very fast pace. My next book will be Gray Redemption and I am really looking forward to it. All of the characters in the book, both good and bad have made their presence known. Another big pat on the back to the author Alan McDermott and from me a well deserved 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

His previous plan embarrassed the government so Tom Gray is dead to the world but still useful to the government. He ends up drawn into helping a friend in a troubled part of the world where kidnapping is a way of life. His life now has danger on all sides from his kidnappers, the ruthless money men and the fact that he has a secret that means his own government want him dead.

A little disappointing after the brilliant first book.
I looked forward to reading this book but although it was good I found it a little slow and lacking in tension. I will still read the next couple of books before I decide whether or not the first was a 'fluke' or not. I'm sure that many will enjoy this novel.

Fantastic! McDermott has not disappointed with this shorter but high octane thriller. The characters are typical, stereotypical sas dudes but nevertheless it had me chuckling and absolutely gripped throughout. Highly recommend this series for anyone who likes Bear Grylls Will Jagaer series or the like.

I gave this book 5 stars as I thought that it was full of excitement and kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish I would recommend that you read book 1 first to get the outline for the Tom Gray story as it all fits in well in book 2 and I'm looking forward to reading the next one

Action Packed
I actually enjoyed this book better than the first one in the series. I can't wait to read what will happen next in this series. I don't want to give anything away, so I will just say that I have a feeling that the next steps in this story are going to be really good.

A year after the events of Tom Gray's Criminal justice standoff ended badly, he finds himself recovering under the control of a secret British organisation. Setup in the Philippines, he finds himself kidnapped and facing an old enemy, as the secret organisation also tries to eliminate him to clear up loose ends.

Superb
I'm lost for words with this second instalment of the Tom Gray series. The setting was compelling, as was the plot. The difference in this series compared to other ex SAS stories, is there is more depth with the characters and less blood and Gore. The suspense is trigger speed. Heartpounding throughout. I'm on to the third book right now!!

This a fast-paced read, taking you on the ride of your life. Tom has been banished to Indonesia and ends up fighting for his life. There is also double-crossing involved. A great read and look forward to the next book in the series. So far both books have not been long books but certainly worth the read.

One Book Squeezed into Six
Not a bad read, however, it is definitely part of a series. And one, that should be started with the first volume. The book moves fast and is an easy read. However, truthfully I would have preferred if all six somewhat short novels were in one long tome.

I really like the way this second instalment linked seamless with the first. Again there are unexpected twists to the storyline and personality of some of the main characters. The ending commands you to download the third book.in the series immediately.

An entertaining read
Like the previous book, Gray Resurrection clips along at a fair pace. It doesn’t waste time with needless exposition so don’t be surprised when you find yourself at the finish. A good choice for a holiday/long journey read.
