Haunted by Love

Fate and circumstance won’t stop bringing me, Phee Carter-Wright, a paranormal influencer, and Darwin Chen, a paranormal debunker, together. Everywhere I turn, there’s Darwin with that half-quirk smile and a million sarcastic snipes at my job.

It’s absolutely infuriating.

What’s even more infuriating, though, is the fact that we can’t keep our hands off each other. This strange chemistry that we have either has us publicly duking it out or privately groping at each other.

It needs to stop.

Of course, just after I vow to stay far away from him, I get an offer that could make or break my spend the night in Vancouver’s most notorious haunted house. The catch? Darwin will also be spending the night. In what promises to be an exciting showdown to determine if ghosts truly exist, we have one night to prove our case to the world.

At least I know we won’t be all over each other while we’re locked in together. Surely there’s nothing sexy about trying to solve a hundred-year-old murder in a possibly haunted house.

…right?

Haunted by Love is an enemies-to-lovers with a guaranteed Happily Ever After(life).

Agents, you should be taking Keri Lane to lunch if she’s interested, because this lady deserves a book deal. Books like this are exactly the reason why I still pick up indies now and again, because the excitement of potentially finding a fresh new voice is always there.

So funny, so sexy, so fun, with perhaps one of the best examples of how to write a relationship where the love interests are on opposite sides of the fence about an issue—-in this case, whether ghosts exist. I liked that they passionately defend the nuances of their positions, particularly her standing her ground on her beliefs and what it means if he doesn’t respect them. (His relationship with his best friend gets a hat tip as well.) The arguments are fierce, their banter is witty, and the way they eventually come together is believable and cute.

Already so well-put together (frankly better than a lot of traditionally published books that have the benefit of betas and agents and editors and proofreaders and marketing), but it will be so exciting to see what happens in the future if this author gets picked up.

Currently free on Kindle Unlimited. If you enjoy cute, light-hearted contemporary romance with zingy dialogue and great chemistry, don’t miss this one!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "I dare you to kiss me." This book was utterly fabulous, utterly, utterly fabulous. I have already begun re-reading it even though I just finished it this morning. I was so pleasantly surprised, and cannot recommend this beautiful book enough!

Phee is a paranormal influencer, Darwin is a paranormal debunker, the two could not be further apart. Phee livestreams from different areas where locals have had ghost sightings, however, one night her phone falls into a puddle leaving her lost and alone at a haunted sight . When out of the dark comes Darwin, under the guise that a murder would ruin the housing market in the area. The skeptic and the fanatic may have different beliefs about ghosts, but their chemistry is nothing short of other-worldly. The wind up in a situation where they stay in a haunted house together, and the question remains. However, can they put aside their differences and work to give each other what they truly want?

WOW! WOW! WOW! I have not been engrossed in a book in this way for about six months. I truly could not put it down. I think the main part of this was all the characters. Phee and Darwin were not only hilarious but their chemistry out of this world. And I am making a rather bold statement here, but I strongly stand by it. This is how all enemies to lovers should be done, and truthfully, it is the only instance I've felt that it completely makes sense. Phee and Darwin have amazing chemistry, they're both physically attracted to one another, and have a connection to one other they have not felt before. They both acknowledge this, they both understand this. HOWEVER, and fundamentally. They both will not pursue this relationship due to the fact that Phee is a paranormal investigator, and Darwin debunks such. There are open conversations between the two on how good they could work out, and how the relationship could go further, if either one was willing to change their mind that either ghosts aren't real or ghosts do exist. It was just so exhilirating to finally read a book where the two have such sizzling chemistry, yet resisted and resented each other for a fundamental, core part of their being. It was just thrilling. I cannot recommend this book enough. I must also mention Phee's narration as she is just hilarious, and has wonderful rambling thoughts in sometimes not the most suitable of situations! The side characters were all a joy to read about, and the ghost hunting was really fun to follow along with. I cannot urge anyone enough to read this book.

I have never read a book like this before and also really cannot wait to read more from this author. I highly, highly, recommend this book! I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. Thank you booksirens for the arc!

Haunted by Love began on this lovely, charmingly quirky note with Phee (h) trying to capture footage of a ghost live, for her job as a paranormal influencer. Phee's a burst of fresh air with a caring soul, hilarious train of thought, and she's passionate about what she does. She's also passionate about Darwin (H), in a passionately infuriated way but also a horny as hell for each other way. Darwin doesn't believe in ghosts and over their acquaintanceship, has become an influencer as well, but as a gotcha-type to disprove paranormal claims. Which is a shame because he's perfect for Phee other than the small issue of him thinking her entire belief system is a sham. Doesn't stop him from coming to her aid when she's in trouble (or her defense when others aren't kind in front of him) and certainly doesn't prevent him from making out with her or giving her the gift of orgasm (*ahem* against a wall and very quickly too).

The set-up for the main characters was confusing, in terms of how long they'd circled each other. Their descriptions and most of their backgrounds are very vague from what I recall. Phee's more rounded out than Darwin. The bulk of the focus is on this current time where they're not quite enemies and not quite friends and both recognize that they shouldn't be giving in to their urges when they're diametrically opposed to each other. Then a challenge is issued and an overnight stay in a presumed haunted house forces them into extended close quarters where the hornless does continue, but the vulnerabilities come out as well. So does a mystery of what went on in the house, but funnily enough, those reveals are also related to horniness, go figure (the author mentions horniness multiple times, so I chose to embrace it in my review).

Written in first person, single POV of h. No true ow/om drama (the h and H are invited to an event and each tells the other they're bringing a date, neither has anything romantic occurring with anyone else though) and both are experienced (both dated others since meeting but they directly discuss this and it was implied that neither was really with anyone, it wasn't clear though).

Now all of this sounds fun, right? And a lot of it was, as well as having some emotional depth in places and a nice dose of sweetness. Most of the book is also low angst. However, I couldn't keep my brain off as much as I hoped I could so my enjoyment did lessen as the book progressed. Darwin smirked frequently, or half-smirked, and acted as a foil for Phee, who began to grate on me, because she's very "SQUIRREL!" in her internal thoughts. She'd zone out and go on a mental tangent, not always at the most opportune times for the flow imo. I did appreciate her thoughts on our future robot overlords though, because I have these conversations often with people. I also felt like some of the more touching scenes lacked as much impact because of the way the story was written. Both Phee and Darwin have significant heartbreak in their pasts and they processed it differently, but because of some of the rest of the story's tone and flow, I had a hard time feeling these moments as sincerely as I wanted to.

The mystery with the potential haunted house was also both heartfelt and made me question Phee's abilities. She's not just a stellar historian and researcher, she also has a special ability that was just super convenient. Back to the mystery though, our intrepid investigators find some resources and draw some conclusions and when the big reveal occurs, I thought it was fairly obvious what was going to happen and confused how a certain aspect wasn't clear.

The side characters added a good punch of humor and support. Phee has a crew of older women and Darwin has a bestie who just has to be experienced. Phee's teasing of him was top notch though, as were her mental labels for something he brings along on their excursion. There's an awful blind date and a shady mayor too. Even these supporting characters though need to have some disbelief suspended a bit.

I did laugh repeatedly and I shed some tears (trigger warning at the end in a spoiler). The ending is precious and satisfying on multiple levels. I think other people might be able to just relax into it and go along for the ride, I started like that and couldn't maintain sadly. I don't know if I'll try more by this author or not.

Trigger warnings:

A Skeptic and a Paranormal Influencer enter a haunted house for the night of their lives and/or careers, what could go wrong? I have to admit, I was hooked from the description, but this book did not disappoint. Phee Carter-Wright is a paranormal influencer who spends her life going to different hauntings trying to find ghosts and prove the exist. Her nemesis, Darwin Chen makes his living debunking psychics and people who make their money off of selling hope to people who believe in the paranormal.

When Phee and Darwin get snookered into investigating a haunted house that the Mayer conveniently owns, they must learn to work together. Or else.

Is the house haunted or not? Both Darwin and Phee will have to confront their own beliefs, their misconceptions of the other and their painful histories. But, if they can, they may find something beautiful in the dawn.

I could not put this book down! I enjoyed Phee's wandering narrative, which has more twists and turns than Red Riding Hood's trip to her grandmother's. And, her crackpot team of librarians were amazing!

The X-Files-reminiscent setup of this genuinely delightful romantic comedy was an inspired choice for an effortless rivals-to-lovers story. Darwin (insert Homer Simpson gif: stupid, sexy Darwin!) is the Scully of the pair, devoting himself to debunking the kind of paranormal phenomena that Phee has built her life around investigating from the “I Want to Believe” perspective. If only they weren’t so hot for each other…

I had an absolute blast with this book. The running gags, the supporting cast, and omg the banter! I’m generally not a visual person at all, yet I was able to navigate this haunted house space in my mind. The HEA brought happy tears to my eyes. I can’t say enough good things. It was a treat to read.

A delightfully cozy spooky read for any romance readers spooky season TBR.

4.75/5⭐️
3/5🌶️

Tropes, etc.:
rivals to lovers
odd couple (ish) vibes
queer rep (not mcs)
haunted house
hate banging
BANTER
no third act break up
women's health

I don't know what I can say to show how much I loved this book. It was so funny and cozy. I sat down to read this book and I did it one sitting. I was IN IT.

It hit so many millennial struggles too. Housing market anyone? Sideways politicians? Trying to get those brand deals so there's money for food? DATING, yuck!

The angst between Phee and Darwin was there from the start. Phee being airheaded and a lil spacy was balanced by Darwin and you could TELL he was just so smitten with her and not at all pleased about it. But he was also sooooo into teasing and baiting her. I just loved their dynamic and the efforts they went through to understand and connect while investigating the haunted house.

The other important messages from this story is to 1) support your local library! and 2) women's health and safety are so important.

I felt the author did a nice job of bring those two messages forward and have them linked into the mission with the haunted house.

Really, truly, I can't recommend this book enough. It had me giggling, smiling, and happy crying! Love love love!

If you're not reading this book for your spooky season reading, then I don't even know what you're doing with your life.

This paranormal influencer vs paranormal skeptic enemies to lovers is for everyone who likes the cheesy, fun side of Halloween, this book is it! It doesn't take itself seriously. It's funny without being cringe. But it also has a little bit of spooky shivers moments.

The characters in this book are seriously on point. Phee with her wandering narrative (just buckle in and see where it takes you), Darwin with his *clutches heart* smirk, Brady with all his Brady-ness (he might have been my fav!), and the library ladies. Every single one of them had me beyond excited when they were on the page. I could read a book about any of them.

Also, can I say how much I love this take on enemies to lovers? I adore that they admit there's this wild attraction between them and that they'd be together if only the other one would budge on their principles and beliefs. It was steamy and somehow also felt slow burny, even though there's some 🔥🔥 action in like the first chapter.

Go read this book! And then if you like the weird sense of humor, go read Abducted by Love. They're both such gems!

Don't share spoilers! Man that will be hard, because I was thoroughly invested from the very first page! I loved Phee and Darwin, and now I have to figure out what to say without spoiling anything.

The attraction of the main characters, the unexpected friendship with Brody (the best friend of Darwin), the intriguing mystery, the descriptions of the haunting, the foreplay, the dirty talk, the vulnerability between Phee and Darwin.

Ughhhh and the ending made my heart explode! So freaking cute! I cannot wait to read this one over and over and over!!!

Haunted by Love finds social media ghost influencer, Phee, going toe to toe with debunker, Darwin. Both highly opinionated, they spend the night in a haunted house to settle their war of the words once and for all. Phee and Darwin have a heated connection, both on and off social media; so it's no surprise when they can't keep their grabby little hands off each other.

The characters are all well written. Phee has good reason to believe in the supernatural. Darwin is a sensible hottie who firmly believes ghosts and psychics are a sham. Ghosts, fun characters, romance, a mystery to be solved, Phee's humorous inner-monologue, and a giant cooler full of foods you'd have to be really drunk to eat. Recommend!

If you haven't already read Abducted by Love (also by Keri Lane), it's phenomenal.

Hey again everyone!

Its been a solid while since I left a review (for my three followers) but I just gotta tell you all about this book.

So I received an advanced copy of this book for free and am leaving a voluntary review, but let me tell you, I would pick this book up any day. Sometimes when you see new authors (I assume Keri Lane is a relatively new author with only one other published book) they write in a Wattpad sort of styled writing and it makes me low-key cringe, but this book has me GIGGLING AND KICKING MY FEET. I don't usually go for this sort of horror-romance genre, but something about this whole idea pulled me in majorly and I read it in 2 days (spent my math lessons reading this book {no shame} and finished it in an afternoon on day two)

As my usual reviews go, I'll start with a review of the overall plot. Not gonna re-sate for the purpose of spoilers, but it was AMAZING. I love me a little murder mystery and bringing in GHOSTS????? OML my cup of TEA. I thought the pace of the book was wonderful as it didn't rush. Like these mfs weren't like half way through character development then going at it like rabbits, there was actual tension which was slowly resolved throughout the book. I'm so impressed Lane was able to write such an interesting book within 272 pages and manage to create proper scenery, tension, and character development without it feeling rushed and ridiculously horny. I'm also a sucker for enemies to lovers so I may be bias… Don't get me wrong, these mfs were HUNGRY for each other the whole time, but it was an appropriate level of starving yk? It didn't feel cringe and I didn't feel gross (not the good kind) reading it.

Now the main two characters…

When I begun reading this, I was a little anxious for the whole Alpha bro podcast thing Darwin had going on, but my opinion seriously changed when we found his back story which is an amazing thing to be able to achieve as an author. My thoughts were following Phee the whole time (we were on the same thought path). The only issue (and literally why this isn't a 5 star book) I had with Darwin was his name. Reminded me of Charles Darwin a little which had me envisioning an old man and this super sexy hot Ghost Hunter in moments. When they were chatting, I read "Darwin" accidentally as "Dwarf" then was thinking about how much I hate the new Snow White Actor - bit off topic ik.

Talking about 'off topic' I loved the way Phee's borderline ADHD was portrayed. When authors try to write a wondering mind, it does't work and it ends up being a random blab on, but Phee's thought process was actually really relatable and flowed really well. I also wanna know what kind of beef Keri Lane has with giraffes cause you have me questioning my existence (why are their necks SO LONG?). Phee's character was also amazing. I loved her back story and how Darwin's intertwined with hers, enforcing the belief that they're actually soulmates (whoops spoilers). I LOVED the uniqueness of Phee's job and her real passion for history (very much appreciated as a History nerd myself).

Overall, this was an amazing, unique book and I've already recommended it to my friends! It's the sorta book that goes viral and I honestly hope Keri Lane gets the publicity she deserves for such a cool book. I wish the Author all the best!!!

This book called me to me as soon as I read the description on Book Siren's and requested this ARC, and it did not disappoint! And this book is every bit as cute and fun as the cover looks!

There was such a wonderfully fresh tension between Phee, the paranormal influencer, and Darwin, the paranormal debunker. Although the pair clearly were in competition for medal for who fell first, their differing approaches to the paranormal and online presences clearly created an insurmountable odd for them. Or so they want everyone, including themselves to believe. But every time Phee is a bad situation, Darwin is there to swoop in and aid or support her. And every time Darwin is on air, Phee is there to prank his show. Clearly these two just need a nudge in the right direction. Cue the Mayor and his haunted house that he want to put for sale with the biggest price tag that only Phee and Darwin's Rivalry can get. There is much more to this book than this, but I don't want to give away any of the expected and unexpected twists and turns that that delightfully spooky Romantic Comedy will give you.

This a fun, fast paced comedy with a deliciously paced slow burn romance. The banter between Phee and Darwin is on point set at a great beat that had me laughing and giggling, while the undeniable sexual tension between them had me cheering and, along with Brody THE BEST BEST FRIEND EVER just shaking my Kindle and saying "just get a room already".

You do not want to miss this very original take on a Haunted House Mystery that has a wonderful dose of reality as well as romantic comedy. With support your local library front and center, as well as awareness building for Battered, Abused and Neglected women, and representation for LGBTQ+ this is a book that will engage you, make your heart beat faster, and have you wondering just what was that bump in the night that pushed you closer to the one you think you love.

Number of Pages: 268
Publication Date: August 25, 2023

Rom Com
Rivals to Lovers
Grumpy Sunshine
Forced Proximity
Paranormal

What happens when you put two rivals who clearly have the hots for each other, one is a paranormal influencer and the other is a paranormal debunker, in the same haunted house to prove whether ghosts truly are real or not? Possibly, a real Happily Ever After(life)!

A- Wow! I was not expecting to love this book as much as I did. I loved it so much! I loved literally all the characters, dead and alive. I loved Phee’s scatterbrained little tangents. Her observations on giraffes is so on point. I mean their whole body is mostly made up of their neck. Weird. I love all her distracted thoughts though. Her teasing of Brady was probably my favorite parts in the book. I loved it so much. Poor Brady lol. Darwin was so sweet and the library ladies were amazing!
This book was truly incredible. It’s a little spooky. It’s swoony. It’s enduring. We don’t all have to believe in the same things to just believe in each other. I really really loved this book. I highly recommend it if you like reading rom coms with some real life ghosts sprinkled in. I’ll def be rereading this one day! *chef’s kiss*💋🤌🏻

I have received this as ARC from BookSirens and this is my genuine thoughts.

To be honest, I didn’t know what to expect and the short description didn’t tell much. But it’s absolutely lovely. The main thing is it’s funny and it’s a paranormal romance. Well maybe not as paranormal as Im used to, like the main characters are both normal people and they are trying to prove if ghosts are real or not to the world and mainly to each other.
The story is from the main heroine’s point of view (I would love to have both sides of view instead). Maybe the lack of his point of view is replaced with her crazy daydreaming and monologues in her head, she is really hilarious and her ideas made me laugh and think about them as well.
I really love their chemistry and fire, even if it’s seams bizarre to me that they have been in each other throats for years and never done more. It’s great to see the attraction and I was slightly worried how it will end in a good way.
Side characters were hilarious - friend who eats all the time, old librarians who gets high, mystery ghosts.
This is a nice cosy romance with a mystery involved and great chemistry and hilarious heroine. It’s rare for me but 5stars.

This was a fun quick read.
Phee, a paranormal influencer and Darwin, a skeptic/debunker with the catch phrase “gotcha” are coerced by the town Mayer to spend a night in his inherited empty mansion that is supposedly haunted. With the gauntlet thrown down during a speech at a public event, how could they say no? What else could go wrong?

Phee and Darwin come across several rooms and find a journal that has them piecing together clues to solve a 100 year old murder with a slight twist at the end. The MC’s have witty and sarcastic banter mixed in with a few heart to hearts revealing why each of them chose the career paths that they are on.

If you enjoy:
•Enemies to lovers
•Forced proximity
•Goofy sidekick that enjoys obscure recipes
•Banter
•LGBT representation
•Some spice
•Murder/Mystery
•HEA

Then this book is something you may want to pick up!

I received this book as an ARC via BookSirens in return for an honest review.

Just wrapped up "Haunted by Love" and here are my thoughts. The concept of paranormal influencers; one a believer and one a skeptic, having to spend a night in a haunted house totally hooked me from the get-go.

The author's portrayal of their relationship dynamics was on point – the back and forth between the characters kept things interesting. You could sense there was so much beneath the surface, and I loved how they had to find common ground to truly see each other.

The premise was a total win for me, but I'll admit, the story left me wanting a bit more. Phee's random inner tangents about giraffes, shoe-wearing Americans, and cartoon characters felt a bit out of place. I get that they were showcasing her unique personality, but it took away from the flow.

The ending caught me off guard – it felt a tad abrupt. However, I still enjoyed the ride, and the epilogue was a real treat. Overall, "Haunted by Love" was an enjoyable read with its quirks and charms! If you're into paranormal romance with unique twists, give it a go.

An absolutely fabulous read! In all fairness, I really didn't know what to expect going into this book...I mean, I love a good romance and I'm drawn to the humor of a good rom-com all of which the blub sounded like it would be - but throw in some hauntings and ghosts and I was doubtful. So guess with that said it's perfect that this book is about a sceptic! Don't get me wrong, with my faith I totally believe in spirts which is why I get a bit creeped out when it comes to the paranormal, but this book was just so wonderful! Phee Carter-Wright and her nemesis Darwin Chen are investigating the same haunted house - at the same time! Phee Carter-Wright is out to prove the paranormal while Darwin is set to debunk any paranormal claims. A wonderfully fun and captivating read I couldn't put down. Great twists and turns throughout the book. Perfection! I'm so glad I got the opportunity to read! Can't wait to see what Lane will write next!

This was absolutely delightful! The characters were charming, sweet, and endearing and it was a joy to watch them overcome their differences. The tension was there from page one and it was chef’s kiss. The plot was also a delight! All round, this was the perfect cozy romance with a hint of the paranormal.

I read a few of the reviews for Lane’s first book and one said that there were a lot of grammar issues and typos which they were willing to overlook because the rest of the book was so delightful - I think there aren’t quite as many grammar issues here, but there were a few missing commas and questions marks and a few missing words, more so towards the end. I’d recommend pushing back the publication to iron out those issues and then the book really would be perfect - and could come out for Halloween season!

I can’t wait to read more from this author! Thank you to BookSirens for my free ARC - I’m leaving this review voluntarily.

This was such a fun and adorable read! It follows Phee, a paranormal influencer, and Darwin, a podcaster who debunks ghost stories. The book was a well-done enemies-to-lovers story with the both of them being coerced into spending the night in a haunted house.

The tension between Darwin and Phee was established almost immediately, as they already had a history together. I absolutely adored Phee as a character. She was smart, compassionate, and extremely driven. Darwin, on the other hand, was considerate but also rude and overly cynical. It definitely took me a long time to warm up to his character, but I did enjoy how his relationship with Phee developed. There were a couple of spicy 🌶️🌶️ scenes, which were pretty well-written as well.

This was a light read with a great cast of main and side characters. It was cute, quirky, and an absolute delight to read.

Let me start this out by saying normally with ghost stuff I’m a chicken. I get easily spooked, so I was leery of reading this book because I didn’t want to psych myself out. it turns out a cute romance enemies to lovers that features paranormal fun.

I feel like the way that Phee handled things with a ghost made it a little bit less creepy and transition it more to the romcom genre which I enjoyed.

I really liked the banter between Phee and Darwin, I also really liked the comedic relief of the library, ladies!

Really the only thing I wasn’t a fan of were Phee’s sidenotes because she would go off on a tangent that was completely unrelated and I’m sure this meant to come across as quirky, but ended up just kind of de-railing the story.

This was a fun, and pretty quick read. I honestly had trouble stopping reading for eating/sleeping/general adulting. The story had pretty nice flow and the characters themselves were well developed. I liked how the story started out with subtle supernatural hints, because it could later build with the plot. The ending seemed a little abrupt for my liking because it contrasted the rest of the slow build of the story.

One downside is that I am honestly not sure what the characters look like. I know Darwin is attractive and Phee looks like a model, but no specific details about them like what their hair color is or if anyone had dimples or even how tall they were. I think I'd have liked the story more if those details were included.

Haunted by Love is a romance story between an influencer who reports on ghosts and a paranormal debunker with a podcast. This is an enemies to lovers romance between Phee, the believer, and Darwin, the skeptic. When they are pushed into staying the night in the mayor's haunted house, they discover a historical murder-mystery/love story.

This author always does a good job writing stories that surprise me. Their angle that ghosts can only feed off the energy they have in common with the living gives this story a new feeling to that of many other ghostly romances. For example, in this book if you are peaceful and kind, you'd only ever be able to power up ghosts that were also peaceful and kind.

Trigger warning: references to domestic abuse in the historical side of things, parental death for the current main characters

I adored Keri's Abducted by Love and was excited to read this one. Darwin and Phee were so entertaining. I loved them together. The way they danced around each other knowing there was this strong attraction between them, but not giving in because of their opposite beliefs. It was perfect how they ended up being vulnerable and communicated about their pasts. I really loved that part. They both took a chance and learned why the other person had grown to be the person they were today. A reminder that we all have different experiences in this life and we may not all believe the same way, but it doesn't mean we have to be enemies.

I also liked the backstory they uncovered while investigating the haunted house. Those crazy, horny ghosts. Their afterlife seemed pretty fun. I hope that one day, in the very distant future, I can be a ghost and screw around with people. :)

I can't wait for Keri's next book. She writes such enjoyable stories.

anybody else super duper excited for it to be fall soon?? haunted by love is the perfect book to set the mood for the upcoming spooky season.

phee and darwin are rival paranormal influencers; phee is a believer, darwin is a debunker. when they go head-to-head in a supposedly haunted house to prove one of them right and the other is wrong, they end up discovering a murder that was never solved. will they solve it? will they get freaky along the way???

this was an absolutely delightful book. tropes include: enemies to lovers, forced proximity, grumpy/sunshine. recommend to anyone who loves these tropes, or just loves halloween!

4/5 stars!

This story is definitely one of the best I've read in awhile. Beautifully written, fun to read and not the same plot you've read a million times.

Phee believes in ghosts and proving their real has become her life work, she is an optimistic daydreamer who doesn't falter in her beliefs… Darwin is a skeptic and debunker. Despite their opposite views, they can't help but be drawn together.

This book had just the right amount of spice, humor and plot to make it a 5☆ read. Would make a fun Halloween time choice!

Another light, sweet, and a little fantastical Keri Lane read, perfect for cozy lounging with some hot tea! Characters continue to be creative and interesting in their personalities and interactions making it fun to read and easily pulling to root for them from the sidelines.

I enjoyed Phee's ramblings and distractability, but wondered what this must have looked like to Darwin. I wish there had been more flashbacks to their past encounters, when they first met how did they find out they sat on opposite sides of the paranormal and non-believers?
