Seeing Shadows
Caitlin Kile was living a normal college life full of parties and early morning classes. Living with her best friend and enjoying her senior year, Caitlin's life seemed idyllic. Until her neighbor's cousin, Simon Crewe, transferred to her school, unbalancing her tightly controlled life. Because control was one thing Caitlin desperately needed.
Simon was instantly attracted to Caitlin, but he couldn't seem to get past her guarded walls. Caitlin wasn't planning on competing with all the groupies clamoring for Simon's attention ever since he became the lead singer of a popular band. But despite Caitlin's refusal to show any interest in him, Simon couldn't seem to shake his attraction to her.
But Simon didn't know everything about Caitlin. He didn't know about the images of death that haunted her while she was awake. Or the gripping terrors that plagued her at night.
And Simon couldn't possibly know that those terrors were determined to destroy him.

Ok, let me start of saying, WOW, and that this book caused me to get an egg size lump on my forehead, let me explain. I got so into this book, I could not put it down, so I thought I would try to walk and read at the same time, you know, multitask, and well, I ran into a door. And open door, meaning I ran right into the edge of the door that was partway open. Smack, not only which, I had stepped on my cat’s tail, much to her dismay, and burned dinner. ALL because I could not get my nose out of this book (ok, kindle, but same point) I was ok reading the beginning, not causing myself harm, as it had to build the story, but once it really got going (about halfway) I could not stop, and I snapped at my family as they tried to get my attention, lol. They are very glad that I am done with this book. The ending was such a cliffhanger too; I can’t wait until the next book.
Let me tell you a little about this book. It’s a great mix of romance, suspense and the paranormal.
Caitlin has scary visions of people who are going to die, and let me say, her visions are scary, I would have a heart-attack if I had these visions. Especially later when they turn a little different. You will see. I will say that Caitlin is a very strong character; I would never be able to handle what she does.
I really loved the friendship between Sarah and Caitlin, it was so sweet and so glad she had Sarah to turn too, as she is the only one who knows of her visions. Which by the way, look like night terrors when Caitlin has them while asleep, so it had to be scary to Sarah to wake Caitlin up from those. (they are roommates at collage)
I also loved the passion between Caitlin and Simon. I was mad at Caitlin a lot, not letting Simon in, but can understand why. But at some point when it was obvious that he was not going to give up, that he truly cared about Caitlin, she should have told him the truth, and not push him away. I can name a perfect time she could have done this. When he actually woke her from one of these visions. I know she pushed him away, because of her vision of him, but to me, she needed to keep him close to try to protect him, in my opinion. You will see why, I do not want to spoil anything.
I will say I never read a book about Vardogers before, and loved the new supernatural twist to this. It was so real feeling, but enough of the paranormal to keep my interest (anyone who knows me, I have to have some kind of paranormal in any books I read) I found the whole idea of the Vardogers fascinating and think the author did a really good job at describing what they are, and I won’t even try. Caitlin as a seer was a given when you know she has these visions right from the start of the book. I was very interested when she finally got some answers to her questions, and was also sad too at the end, at what she had to do. It broke my heart.
I really love Simon, he is gorgeous, sexy, and the most amazing gentleman. He doesn’t give up on Caitlin, even when most guys would. I really hated how she kept pushing him away, but I do understand she was doing what she thought was right at the time. But I hated how it hurt him. They are soul mates, that connection they have, is not a normal one, I really believe he will play a big role in helping her rid the world of the evil Vardoger’s. I hope anyway, in the 2nd book. He is perfect, and think would be good for Caitlin, if she would just share her secrets with him. I can hope it happens in the next book.
The fun banter between Caitlin is Simon was refreshing, loved it, especially one part where he seen Caitlin outside, looking scared, and he came up to her, and scared her on accident, here is a quote of her telling a friend about it, its cute.

“More like warning everyone about your ego,” I retorted back. I turned to Colleen and Marnie. “Oh, and he’s a creeper. He creeps up on you and scares you to death. He nearly gave me a heart attack last week sneaking up on me.” I turned back to Simon. “You should wear a bell or something.”
Simon laughed loudly at my comment.
I just love Simon’s personality, and he can sing too, who wouldn’t love the guy. Here is a sweet quoute of Simon talking to Caitlin after he woke her from a night terror/vison.

“Caitlin, there’s so much I don’t understand about you,” Simon said softly, moving his hand from my hair to my cheek, stroking gently. “I know you’re holding back on me. And as much as it bothers me that you won’t open up, I know I’m not the only one feeling this. I can see it in your eyes. You want me as much as I want you.”
I opened my mouth not sure whether I was going to protest or agree, when he continued, not giving me a chance to speak.
“I’m not just talking physically, although God knows that’s a big part of it. I find my thoughts drifting to you when you’re not around. Wondering what you’re doing. What you’re thinking. You’re funny, smart, sweet and beautiful. But you don’t seem to realize it. It’s endearing and frustrating at the same time. But the glimpses you give me, the glimpses of the Caitlin with no walls, is enough for me to know that you’re worth fighting for. So that’s what I’m going to do Caitlin. I’m fighting for you.
Awe, just love him. As you should be able to tell, this book is written very well, I was sucked in, and never really seen any errors, like 2 maybe in the whole book. I really think you should give this book a try. People who love the paranormal will love this, AND people who really are more into contemporary romance, but don’t mind a little paranormal, will like this too, as it’s not too far-fetched to get into, and believe, you know what I mean. It’s got some scary stuff from the visions, and man, they are creepy, but not enough to keep me from reading. (I can’t read horror books; I get nightmares and scare to easily, lol)
I highly recommend this book. It’s now another one of my favorites.

This is not a love story.
Well it is… kinda…. With a twist.
Caitlin and Simon are main protagonists.
Caitlin Estranged from her asshole of a Father, Mother passed away when she was young, No family that she knows of. I seriously wanted to hurt at times. The constant back and forth in her mind, I mean I understand the reason she was pushing Simon away, but still there is only so much whinging and “keeping him safe” that I can take before I want to cut a bitch
Simon Sigh… Simon, pure gentlemen. Ok well not PURE *wiggles eyebrows*
Oh and he’s the lead singer of a band! *SIGH*
Secondary characters are
Sarah Caitlin’s best friend and roommate. She is the only one that knows about the visions. She is also in love with Grant.
Grant has an on again off again long distance GF since High school. Hasn’t returned Sarah’s advances but doesn’t stop them either. Simon’s Cousin. In a band the henchman.
Marcus Grant’s roommate, Plays soccer also in the band the Henchman. Is hopelessly in love with Jenny, but is too shy to make a move.
Jenny The youngest of them all and her 21st bday is held during the book. Sarah and Caitlin’s best friend. Seems she may have a thing for Marcus too.
First half of the book is a typical college love story.
Simon moves in with Grant and Marcus, becomes the lead singer of their band and become infatuated with Caitlin. He isn’t shy about it either making his intentions known, trying to get through her walls.
Caitlin is insanely attracted to Simon and has a “connection” with him that she can’t explain, but she can’t go past the “Friend” mark as she has Visions in her sleep.
In these visions she see’s people die.
Then she meets them in real life.
She has already had a vision of Simon drowning.
Sarah is the only one who knows about these visions.
The visions are getting worse; she used to just see people die. Now they are getting weirder and scarier.
The visions are mentioned a few times in the first half but mostly it’s just about mate’s hanging out, having parties, shopping, pining over boys/girls. And our two main characters falling for each other.
The we hit the 2nd half and
BAM
We are introduced to the reason Caitlin has visions.
She is a Seer.
The “things’ she see’s in this visions are called Vardogers
They kill Seer’s.
They look like human because they are an extension of humans. – their shadows. It’s really hard to explain, as Author goes into great detail about it so it’s easier if you read it to fully understand- KINDA a new weird twist on the body snatchers idea…
They realise Caitlin’s strength and are coming for her.
Also Simon and Caitlin FINALLY getting together!
S.H. Kolee leaves us asking more questions that we get answers for as all good writers do and
Of course it ends with a cliff-hanger..
Sucking you straight into getting the next one!

After reading Love Left Behind, I was eager to read something else by S.H. Kolee. I got the Kindle sample of Seeing Shadows and was intrigued by it even though you really don’t get any kind of feel for the paranormal aspect of the book. Caitlin is an interesting character, but it was really Simon and Sarah that I loved. They are both dynamic and attention grabbing. It wasn’t until we got really far into the book that Caitlin really drew me in.
The paranormal aspect of the book is definitely different than anything else I’ve read, but it was also a little difficult to follow. We barely learn about the Vardogers before all of a sudden they’re changing. It would have been kind of nice to understand them a bit before they evolved which meant we basically had to forget everything that we just learned since none of those rules seemed to apply.
The cliffhanger was crazy good and made me immediately buy the next book in the series. I haven’t started it yet, but mostly because there’s no release date on book 3 yet and I’m afraid that the end of book 2 will leave me with the same feeling this one did and I will have to wait forever to get any kind of resolution. Although getting resolution to the end of this book is pushing me towards reading Chasing Shadows as soon as I possibly can.

When I first saw Seeing Shadows on Goodreads, I was curious. As the synopsis suggests, the heroine deals with haunting visions of death about the people around her. So genuinely, I wanted to know what these visions were, why does she experience such horrific dreams, and how does Caitlin deal with them in her everyday life? Sadly, I was disappointed in the overall outcome of this book. I believe there's potential for a great story line here, it's all wrapped up in this book full of mystery and intrigue, and yet, it falls short of even a three star review? Unfortunately for me, it does.
Caitlin Kile is in her senior year of college and it seems her life is perfect with best friends that keep her grounded, parties to keep her entertained, and classes to keep her driven and motivated. At first glance, Caitlin is as normal as they get. But what the world doesn't know, is that Caitlin has been dealing with night terrors since age sixteen. Haunting visions of strangers being murdered or dying horrifically, and to make matters worse, days after her visions, she meets these strangers. But what do these visions mean? Are they premonitions? Will these newly met strangers die soon?
All these questions are answered in the book, but at that point, they came too late for me. I was disappointed with Caitlin's character, she'd seemed like she would be a likable one, but by chapter two I was ready to strangle her. Still, I persisted though. But when the love interest, Simon, gets introduced, Caitlin becomes annoyingly antagonistic and much to my irritation, childish. I understand she was shocked to find out one of the strangers from her most recent vision is her one of her best friend's cousin, but taking out her hostility on him because of it was unnecessary. It's not like Simon was responsible for them. Another thing I found annoying was her repetitive though process. Constantly saying to herself she and Simon would only be friends, repeating over and over why she would never get close to anyone, it becomes too much.
Caitlin is in a constant state of denial throughout the book, refusing to accept that she's NOT normal. Though to be honest, I wouldn't have pegged her for a "freak" because her visions are practically non-existent. Up until Simon walked into her life, she'd been living as much a normal life as she possibly could have, vision-free.
Simon. As much as he was a sweetheart, and total gentleman, I just couldn't stand the fact that he kept following Caitlin around like a lost puppy. She rejected him time and time again, yet there he went back to her. Even after she was incredibly rude to him. Idk, I guess I like my males with a little more Alpha to them.
Another factor in the low rating, was the slow build up, and the lack of suspense. You know the kind that comes from experiencing with the heroine/hero the trauma they go through? I would have liked to have seen more of Caitlin's visions in the book, would have made me understand her better, I believe. The ending is sort of abrupt, it leaves you curious and wondering what's going to happen next, however, I'm unsure as to whether or not I want to continue this series.

Wow! This book really did a number on me! It was a really good read, excellent paranormal romance and suspense combined! Although it will appeal to paranormal romance fans, I think fans of other genres will enjoy it as well.
As it hadn't been reviewed a lot, I didn't know what to expect, so I read the sample from Amazon before agreeing to review it. From the sample I assumed it was going to be your average run-of-the-mill Paranormal Romance, but boy was I wrong, in a completely good way! There was a gradual build up of suspense all the way to the end, and there were some really scary parts that honestly brought goosebumps to my skin. I stayed up all night reading just to find out how it was going to end!
All of the characters were memorable, and I loved the main characters. Caitlin is strong in the face of her visions, whereas I think most people would think they were losing it. She tries her best to keep moving forward and keep a positive outlook on life. Simon was just wonderful. He believes in Caitlin and loves her despite her inability to confide all her problems in him. He just doggedly loves her and doesn't give up on her, even when she pushes him away.
I also wanted to mention that this isn't strictly Paranormal Romance, although there are paranormal things happening with a love story. There are some really creepy parts too, like I mentioned above, where I got cold chills thinking about what I was reading. I definitely felt a full gamut of emotions while reading this book. Other readers might like this book if they read Suspense/Thrillers.
My main problem is that the book has a huge cliffhanger, and while I don't usually like cliffhangers at all, I'm glad that the author ended it the way she did because I need more answers. If there had been a storybook ending with this book at this point, I think it would have taken away from the story as a whole. There was just so much more that needed to be said. So now I'm going to be wondering (impatiently) what happens until the next book comes out. But honestly, it was completely worth it!

She tries her best to keep moving forward and keep a positive outlook on life. Simon was just wonderful. He believes in Caitlin and loves her despite her inability to confide all her problems in him. He just doggedly loves her and doesn't give up on her, even when she pushes him away.
I also wanted to mention that this isn't strictly Paranormal Romance, although there are paranormal things happening with a love story. There are some really creepy parts too, like I mentioned above, where I got cold chills thinking about what I was reading. I definitely felt a full gamut of emotions while reading this book. Other readers might like this book if they read Suspense/Thrillers.
My main problem is that the book has a huge cliffhanger, and while I don't usually like cliffhangers at all, I'm glad that the author ended it the way she did because I need more answers. If there had been a storybook ending with this book at this point, I think it would have taken away from the story as a whole. There was just so much more that needed to be said. So now I'm going to be wondering (impatiently) what happens until the next book comes out. But honestly, it was completely worth it!

I was reading Love Left Behind when i caught the excerpt at it end of this book and to say i was hooked is small term..i totally loved it.
The concept is new,refreshing from all other paranormal books and i was engrossed in it totally..it kept me on edge all the time.
Caitlin is in her senior year college and is happy in her bubble with her friends who care for her..but she has a secret..she sees visions ..brutal,horrifying,murder visions of people who she meets soon later..but what does her visions means is some thing she never understood and her always critical father is no help to ask..so she does what she has to keep her sanity - ignore.
Until her world turns and she meets Simon,her friend grant's cousin who she saw in a horrifying vision..and Simon is not making it easy for her ..he's interested in her,annoys her to limit with his charming smile,sexy rocker image and amazing voice.
Simon is attracted to Caitlin in a way he can't stop and he is frustrated when she doesn't let her in ..its obvious she has problems but why can't she let him in?He wants to help her,take her in arms and never let go..if only she gives a chance..a chance to love.
Their attraction undeniable between each other..yet Caitlin has no other choice to push him away if only to save himself from her..the more she pushes the more closer he comes until there is no way to back out.

I was really conflicted with this book. Caitlin has dreams of people dying, then meets them shortly after. As far as she knows, they don't die like she has seen but continue to live a normal life. She has a vision of a young man drowning, then meets him. She's incredibly attracted to him and he her but because she considers herself a freak she shoots him down painfully every chance she gets.
I enjoyed the banter between Caitlin and Simon but got quickly tired of her back-and-forth attitude. She was brutal with trying to keep him at arms length but as soon as he'd step back she would be disappointed that he had given up. She'd be jealous of him around other girls but then make up lies about being in love with someone else. I felt so sorry for the guy, especially since he kept coming back for more! It got really old hearing her tell herself it was just to "keep him safe". Safe from what?
About the last 3rd of the book was when you learn the reasons behind Caitlin's visions and I almost quit the book at that point. It was so far-fetched and her reactions to the situation so unbelievable that it took everything I had to finish it.
I would give the first 2/3rd's of the book at least 4 stars, even though Caitlin annoyed me so much. The last third would probably get about 2 stars. Too bad the author didn't come up with a better situation to explain Caitlin's visions. I will probably try to read the sequel but am not as enthusiastic about it as I was when I started this book.

Let me start by saying I rarely read paranormal books latly, I do usually keep up to-date on my series. When I first fell back in love with reading PNR seemed to be all I read, but after finding so many other wonderful stories out there is say I lost interest.....Well every once in a while something pulls you in and I have say Seeing Shadows did just that from the very beginning I was vested in the storyline. EVERYTHING was new and fresh this is not the same old story of vamps,reapers,witches or angles. Let me also say I read books to enjoy them not to pick them apart so while I dont often to long detailed reviews I thought this book deserved it I very much enjoyed this book I hope you do to.....

I'm on the fence about this book. I didn't love it, but I also didn't hate it. At the end of the day, I've read better stories in this genre. Because I am on the fence I will read the second book in this series. I hope it gets better.

This may seem like an innocent picture but really the story is far from it. I just wanted to show the photo above because this is how happy the couple was when Caitlin and Simon was visiting his house in Connecticut for his sister’s sixteen birthday. I love how ecstatic and sweet they were during those times. But bad things happened after another and then the chain goes on. This is my first take in a while reading PNR and I can’t seem to stop so I’ll be reading the second book in the Shadow series, Chasing Shadows as soon as I finish this review. Ha.
S.H. Kolee never failed to amaze me. Really her writing’s always magnificent, smooth-flowing and easy to read. Moreover, you’ll see her in-depth writing with witty banters and intelligent sarcastic remarks. Although it saddened me that this is the first five start rating I’ve given to her because the previous books’ plot wasn’t enough for me to rate it with perfect stars. But finally I’m glad that this caught my interest so much that I’m willing to read the next book as soon as possible. The epic cliffhanger caught me there and I can’t wait to see what happens next to the story! I want more of Caitlin and Simon’s story. Of course I was appalled when I learned that Sarah, her best friend is also one of the shadows. I think we’ll just wait and see.
Seeing Shadows have given me a different perspective as a reader when it comes to reading paranormal and fantasy books. I’m not into such genres but having a change of pace and setting seems so nice every now and then. A great story coupled with the author’s flawless writing would definitely bring you to a reader’s promise land. I won’t give much about the story since that was the author’s intention by not giving too much of the real story behind the summary. ;)
PNR readers and those who are willing to take a leap on this wonderful book, don’t think twice and grab a copy. I’m pretty sure you’ll get hooked with it as much as I am. I highly recommend this story. Intense, dark, sweet, horrific and romantic at the same time. It may be a bit overwhelming at times but that’s how utterly amazing the author’s writing is!

I was given this book for free by the author, S.H. Kolee. I love me some rockstars and romance with a dash of paranormal, so I was excited to review it for her.
The Pros:
Caitlin is strong despite the obstacles she has had to overcome in her life. Between losing her mother, her less than pleasant father, and her visions, she has a lot on her plate.
Caitlin's best friend Sarah aides as her support system, as she gets no support from her father. Sarah also provides a sense of comic relief and normalcy to the book.
Simon seems sweet. I don't know if I would put him on the same level as Kellan in Thoughtless, but there is definitely something dreamy about him.
Although the boys are in a band, the band doesn't play a heavy part in the book. So this is definitely not another headstrong girl falls for a rock star romance novel.
The vardoger is a very interesting twist on the paranormal trend. It actually influenced me to do a bit of research on them. I wasn't sure if the author had invented it or not, but vardogers are readily known in Scandinavian culture.

As many of you know by now, I'm a stickler for grammar and spelling errors. There were a couple here and there in the book. Sarah was referred to as "Sara", "he" was just a capital "H" at the beginning of the sentence, which was a bit confusing.
The vardoger aspect wasn't explained as well as I would have hoped. I was left feeling a bit confused.
The almost sex scene was a bit awkward. The book went from being pretty PG to rated R very quickly. Not that I don't like some R rated action, it was just a surprise.
This book is going to be turned into a series, so we were left with quite a cliffhanger, and I wanted to know more. But I'm sure that's what the author intended :) I also wanted to know more about Simon's back story, but perhaps we will learn more in following books.
The Wrap Up:
This is a pretty solid paranormal romance. The story line was intriguing and kept me guessing. I am very interested to see what the author comes up with next book in the series!

Review: Pleasantly surprised by this book. I really liked the characters in the book and my kindle was basically attached to me until I could finish it. I'll admit that there were some flaws though.
Caitlin: I hated when she kept making up reason and excuses not to be with Simon. I get why she felt like she had to push him away in the beginning but its obvious that they're better off being together then they're apart. It was the only thing about Caitlin that I didn't like but unfortunately she spends the majority of the book pushing him away. But besides that I really like Caitlin. She has so much on her plate, especially considering she has visions of people dying which turn out to be more complicated then anyone thought it would be. Luckily she has great friends, especially Sarah who is the only person who knows about the visions. I really liked Sarah, she's funny, sweet and just an all together great person.
Simon: I loved him! Seriously I loved everything about him, especially how he treated Caitlin. He's smoking how and pretty much every girls dream man but he doesn't even care unless that girl is Caitlin. And don't even get me started on those passionate scenes between him and Caitlin;I need a guy like Simon in my life. I felt so bad for him at times because of the way Caitlin would treat him sometimes and yet despite all that he still stuck by her side. It really sucks that Caitlin had a vision of him dying because I really don't want him to die. I really hope everything works out by the end.

I saw "Seeing Shadows" on Goodreads after I read "Love Left Behind"...being that I liked LLB so much I figured SS would be just as good...I love a good and angsty romance with lots of sex scenes!...I'm not gonna lie.
As I started reading, it turned out 2 be NOT at all like LLB...I was hoping for lots of red hot naked sex scenes, and SS had none at all...I mean, I guessed from the title and the cover that it had some sort of paranormal thing going on --and I don't mind that-- I just had my fingers crossed for something MORE then just kissing --they are in college after all-- so that was kind of disappointing.
Anyways the beginning part of the story moved a little too slow for my liking...letting you get to know all the characters and the stories between each of them and blah, blah, blah...since there was NO SEX whatsoever it was kinda just blah...until it hits chapter 12!
Here's where it gots interesting and some of my questions about the weird paranormal stuff were answered...but it only left me with even more questions...
I just wanted Caitlin to get her shit together and open up to Simon, so they could be together and fight this weird thing TOGETHER...and throughout the whole book she's lying to him and pushing him away...this pissed me off to NO END!...I mean, I can understand why she did it, but I felt so lonely and heartbroken for the both of them...but in the end --no matter how much I wanted to protest-- it was a good decision...
and that --this indecisiveness to love or not to love Simon-- kinda dragged out till the very end...but what an ending!! I knew something big was gonna happen, and when it did, it was exactly what I thought would happen, but it wasn't...does that make sense?
Anyways, it left me feeling unsatisfied and anxious to get the next book! I was so upset having it end like that, I almost threw my phone across the room...I HAVE TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS NEXT!
Having said all this...
SS is a very interesting read, absolutely NOT what I expected (due to the lack of sex scenes) and even though it was a little slow paced at the beginning...It was thoroughly entertaining and really suspenseful towards the end...I can't wait to start the next installment "Chasing Shadows"!

Wow! This book was just amazing! I loved every minute of it. I really can't wait for more.
Caitlin is the best female main character. She is down to earth, thoughtful, and loyal to a fault. I truly loved reading about her. She believes she is damaged because she see visions of peoples brutal deaths and her dad doesn't talk to her really unless it is to nag. He mom passed away when she was young. He best friend Sarah is like a sister to her and I love Sarah!!! She is the best friend anyone would wish to have.
Sarah is in love with Grant who is in a band missing 2 people. But his cousin Simon comes to town and can take the other 2 peoples place! However Caitlin has a vision of Simon's death and instantly doesn't want to give him a chance though they are wildly attracted to one another.
The things Simon says to Caitlin in this book were some of my favorite lines. I absolutely LOVE him!!!!
I don't want to give much away but Caitlin finds out she has an Aunt (her dads sister) and the Aunt tells her what the visions are and that they run in the female bloodline of their family. So her dad knew what she was going through all along.
Simon invites Caitlin and Sarah home with him and Grant for his sisters bday in CT. Which happens to be where Caitlin's aunt is from. While in CT Caitlin and Simon grow close and he loves her! AWWW she loves him too but needs to talk to her Aunt first.
Turns out Caitlin is really powerful and the visions she see's are taking over the body of the victims. It seems like because Caitlin is the strongest the shadows of her loved ones are after her. She is talking to her aunt after she is attacked by a shadow and something is happening on her Aunts end. So she realizes her friends aren't safe and leave.
This is a very detailed review because I am not sure when the second book comes out and I want to come back and read this so I remember when it does. I can't wait for the next book. Hope Simon and Caitlin can be together!!!!
Caitlin is the best female main character. She is down to earth, thoughtful, and loyal to a fault. I truly loved reading about her. She believes she is damaged because she see visions of peoples brutal deaths and her dad doesn't talk to her really unless it is to nag. He mom passed away when she was young. He best friend Sarah is like a sister to her and I love Sarah!!! She is the best friend anyone would wish to have.
Sarah is in love with Grant who is in a band missing 2 people. But his cousin Simon comes to town and can take the other 2 peoples place! However Caitlin has a vision of Simon's death and instantly doesn't want to give him a chance though they are wildly attracted to one another.
The things Simon says to Caitlin in this book were some of my favorite lines. I absolutely LOVE him!!!!
I don't want to give much away but Caitlin finds out she has an Aunt (her dads sister) and the Aunt tells her what the visions are and that they run in the female bloodline of their family. So her dad knew what she was going through all along.
Simon invites Caitlin and Sarah home with him and Grant for his sisters bday in CT. Which happens to be where Caitlin's aunt is from. While in CT Caitlin and Simon grow close and he loves her! AWWW she loves him too but needs to talk to her Aunt first.
Turns out Caitlin is really powerful and the visions she see's are taking over the body of the victims. It seems like because Caitlin is the strongest the shadows of her loved ones are after her. She is talking to her aunt after she is attacked by a shadow and something is happening on her Aunts end. So she realizes her friends aren't safe and leave.

I really enjoyed reading Seeing Shadows! I thought it was a great mixture of romance, paranormal, and suspense.
First off, I have to mention how scary Caitlin's visions were! That poor girl! I would have gone crazy if I were the one having those visions! I thought Caitlin was such a strong character for being able to handle them as well as she did.
Even though I liked Caitlin, she did frustrate me at times. I hated that she kept trying to push Simon away. I know she was just doing it to protect him, but he seemed to really care about her. I don't know why she wouldn't just let him in. I loved Simon, but who doesn’t love a gorgeous guy that can sing?
One of my favorite aspects of this book was the friendship between Caitlin and Sarah. I like how they looked out for one another, especially Sarah. She was so sweet and supportive! I thought Caitlin was lucky to have someone like her as a friend, we could all use someone like Sarah as a friend!
I can honestly say I've never read a book about Vardogers, actually I have never even heard about them until I read this book. I found them to be extremely fascinating and I think the author did a good job explaining what they were.
Overall, I thought Seeing Shadows was a really good read and I can't wait to read book 2 in this series to see what happens next!

Hoping that I don't see any SHADOWS........
Wow SPOOKY! Talk about some originality-this story is definitely that! Oh man, I have never read a book like this before. Paranormal stuff like vamps, werewolves, etc. don't really freak me out but this book really kind of did. I'm not ashamed to admit that I will be flicking the lights on throughout my house for the next couple of days.
The characters I thought were again original. They were all well rounded. I thought that there were lots of little hidden secrets that each character was dealing with throughout the novel. For example, something is seriously up with Grant and Cara (is she soulless too?). I mean they got some kind of secret going on (possible un planned pregnancy of the past?). Also, you know something big is going to be revealed in the next book about Simon and Caitlin's "connection". Pleade oh plesse let there be some kind of happy resolution (crossing my fingers for a happy ever after) for them. Caitlin's Dad is seriously wacked. My prediction is either he is going to help her in a time of crisis OR mess her up for real.....who knows my speculation can be faulty. :) If you are considering this book...go for it. You won't be let down, with that being said I'm off to start on book #2 Chasing Shadows. I'm sure it will be as unique as the first!

I'm still on a high from reading this book, happily submerged in the world of Caitlin & Simon having not a care in the world. Thank God, it's done minimal damage or so it seems ;) The paranormal genre is not really something I normally go for but this novel combines the perfect mix of suspense, angst, love, and heartache. I especially love the fact that our heroine stems from a mixed cultural background. Case in point, Caitlin is part Korean / part Norwegian. The only thing that I didn't like about it was the HUGE cliffhanger!

When I first saw Seeing Shadows on Amazon daily deal, I was curious. The synopsis sounded good, the heroine deals with haunting visions of death about the people around her. So genuinely, I wanted to know what these visions were, why does she experience such horrific dreams. Sadly, I was disappointed in the overall outcome of this book. The title of this book should be more clear that it is a series. I am unsure why the book ends where it does because it seems as if it ends right when the action starts. 75% of this book was character development-I liked the characters but feel like I was cheated because so many loose ends. With that being said I will read book 2, simply to see what happens because it stopped in the middle of the story.

I think what really bugged me on this one was the back and forth traveling between her dad's place, her apartment, and then to her aunt's place. It was literally getting annoying for me to read it. Over and over, back and forth, again and again, does the author realize what the price of gas is? It would have cost a mini fortune to keep refilling the car up, which never actually happens. Maybe she had one of those solar powered vehicles. Then again, don't they only last 50 miles before you have to switch to another power source? Hmm, not sure on that one. None the less, for a college student, eh- probably not even likely.
I ended skimming this book and really frowned at the fact I had already purchased the 2nd book before reading this one.

I love this story. The idea was another new fantasy that author can come out with paranormal vision in dream. It is like the heroin have a gift becaming a seer that can kill a shadow, or called as vardogers.
Caitlin Kile trying to live with normal routine even she struggle at the night with the visions. She trying to ignore the vision she had when in real life, the tragedy was not happening. However, her life started unbalanced when her friend's cousin, Simon Crewe come and trying to come in Caitlin's life; and her aunt trying to explain that vision is real and the vardogers always want to kill her.

I had such high hopes for this book as I love a creepy paranormal story, but this fell so short of my expectations. The lead character was quite annoying and really preachy. I also couldn't understand how her life was so ruined by 'visions' when they didn't seem to happen that often and then the description of them didn't really warrant her reaction. The ending was abrupt and came at a point when the author finally created some action, clearly to make you buy the second in the series. Don't waste your time...

It's not what I was expected, but the book definitely has a lot of potential.
Caitlin's visions are interesting, and not on the standard way. Unfortunately, it takes most of the book to understand what they are, too bad, it would have been much better to at least get a hint earlier.
The love story with Simon is moving too slow for me, one step forward, two steps back. Caitlin cannot make up her mind about him, up to the point where it kind of annoyed me.
I still enjoyed the book, and the visions are different from everything I read so far. So let's start the second book.

I was enthralled with love left behind and decided to read more by Kolee. I loved the world building in Seeing Shadows and the interesting cast of characters. On the other hand, I am not a fan of the whole "i want to love him but i can't" dilemma. Caitlin struggled with this a bit too much for my liking. Seeing Shadows also ends with a huge cliff hanger. There were so many questions left unanswered, so I am glad that I waited to read this close to the release of Book 2.

This book got good reviews so I continued reading it..waiting..........................for something to happen.....waiting for a point to it......waiting for it to good.......... Well, that never happened. It was cheesy dull and boring. To make it even worse, it concludes with a cliffhanger that I would not invest another penny or minute on.

OMG! Didn't see this series coming!!! Actually yelled "WHAT" out loud halfway thru the book! Guess it didn't help that I didn't read any reviews or the description of the books. But WOW!!! I couldn't put this down!!! But I was so lucky that I already had the 2nd book already downloaded. Hated the ending (of this book).
