Christmas Falls #6

Clausing a Scene

Rate this book
I'm definitely on Santa's naughty list this year…

My agent calls me a PR nightmare, but I'm just trying to have some fun for the first time in my life. To clean up my supposed 'bad boy' image, I'm starring in a cheesy, live-action holiday rom-com set in Christmas Falls.

Ha, some punishment.

The head of the company producing the film is Hig Langton, my best friend's dad, aka my lifelong crush. The most kind-hearted and devastatingly handsome guy I’ve ever laid my eyes on. A sexy business man and mountain lumberjack rolled into one. He can jingle my bells any time.

But this year, I want Hig to stop seeing me as a kid… Or his son's best friend. I'm an adult, and it's time for Hig to start treating me like one. And I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make that happen.

Clausing a Scene is low-angst holiday fun guaranteed to get you into the festive spirit. It's packed with tropey goodness my best friend's dad, age gap, snowed in, bi awakening, and first time.

Christmas Falls is a multi-author M/M romance series set in a small town that thrives on enough holiday charm to rival any Hallmark movie.

I used to really enjoy Casey Cox's books but I think I have to admit defeat and add them to my do not read list.

If you took the parts of this story that related to an actual plot it would equate to about one chapter, maybe two at a push. The rest of the book was just constant sex scenes and it was honestly beyond boring.

I'm all for smut and sex scenes, but it has to be balanced with the actual plot! Otherwise just describe it as erotica and you know exactly what to expect I guess, because this was not romantic or comedic .

Brant gets sent to Christmas Falls to star in a queer holiday romcom in the hopes that it will clear up his image. The head of the production company is none other than his best friend’s dad Hig, who just so happens to be the man he’s had a massive crush on for years.

When a major blizzard throwing off the movie production for a few days, the pair end up alone for the first time in years and things heat up quickly between Brant and Hig once their mutual attractions are revealed.

Honestly, I’m kinda bummed this didn’t have much Christmas Falls action going on, but overall still enjoyed it. The spice was top notch, per usual with Casey, so no complaints there!

Back to the duds for this series, I guess.

I tried reading some of Cox's Vet Shop Boys series and was very disappointed by how one dimensional the story was. Full of clichés and neatly wrapped up stories, Cox repeats that formula here with a promising age-gap, best friend's dad story that doesn't fulfill the promise such tropes can inspire.

Instead, we get a couple of super-horny adults acting like teens, trying to get as much sex into a small time frame before they have to face their best friend/son. Once the two MCs get past the inevitable "should we, or shouldn't we?" phase, which is all of two pages if that, it's non-stop Nifty.org erotica. Which would be fine if it were on Nifty, but instead it's classified as a romance so it's only fair it delivers some lovey dovey romance along the way. It's seriously two guys who have wanted each other *sexually* for years living out their fantasies and only after getting the a-ok from the best friend/son do they move into expressing their romantic feelings for each other. By this time, we're close to being finished with the book (it's pretty short).

No character development, evil mom, dead mom, blah blah blah. Boring.

After reading some of the other Christmas Falls books I was really excited for this one. Despite the three star reading there were some things I did enjoy and liked about the book. I liked reading about how close Col and Brant are, how they not only maintained their friendships for decades, but how they see each other as family and share everything with one another.. well, almost everything. I also enjoyed how close Hig was with his son, (Col) it was so sweet reading about the bond those two share as well.

Hig and Brant's relationship just didn't sit well with me, and here's why. They started off hooking up with one another, then after a few days of hooking up they say they are boyfriends, just to 'break up' when Col arrives. I just never felt any romance coming from the pair, it was just loads of spicy scenes. While I do appreciate and respect that there are people who enjoy that; for me personally, I like there to be scenes where they are building a connection, where they go on dates, and really gives a relationship feel. I just didn't get that with Hig and Brant.

I did enjoy the aspect of Brant filming a movie in Christmas Falls, I thought the scene with the goat was described very well.

Cute best friend's dad romance

I liked a lot of this book, the two main characters in particular were really engaging and I loved their dynamic.

Unfortunately, there was a bit too much "heading off to have sex" or references to them having had sex and not enough of the on page relationship development I generally prefer.

We got told that they talked a lot, but we didn't get to see much of the conversations or the interactions outside of the sexy times that led to more feelings developing.

The age gap element never bothered me, they were both pretty sensible guys with solid heads on their shoulders and each had been harbouring crushey feelings for the other for a while.

We also don't really see anything of Christmas Falls, only in passing, with just a couple of throwaway lines about Griff and another resident, so it didn't feel as much a part of this little town as the other books in the series I've read.

But, it's funny at times, both men make decisions which fit the character we've seen on page and I liked that there was zero drama with Hig's son Col when he found out.

Another wonderful story from the Christmas Falls universe. I love the age gap trope and this book did deliver it and the fact that it was set at the festive season just added more goodness to it.
Brant is an actor. He's been an actor his whole life, his mother is a nightmare and he's always had a crush on his best friend's dad, Hig. He accepts to film a movie in Christmas Falls and his friend tells him to stay at his dad's making Brant and Hig to spend a lot of time together. Hig was a teenage dad so even though he's older than Brant, he's not an elder and... he's been feeling attracted to his son's best friend for a while.
I loved this book, it was fun and sweet and cozy. It was amazing how well Brant and Hig worked together. They had known each other forever so it was easy for them to spend time together. They knew each other perfectly and it just seemed natural for them to become something else.
The age gap made Hig reluctant to pursue a relationship with Brant, and also the fact that the actor lived in LA, but the fire between them was undeniable and eventually feelings got involved. They couldn't have stopped what happened in the end.
This was such a beautiful novel to read with nice, mature characters (even Brant was very down to Earth for his age) that communicated with each other. The romance was delightful, low angst and full of beautiful emotions. I also loved the beautiful friendship between Brant and Col, and how the latter took the news of his dad and his best friend being together.
Like I said, this was a very enjoyable and fantastic read and I can't wait to keep reading the next books in this series.

There are a few things about this book that bugged me.

Almost the entire book was Hig and Brant having sex, talking about sex, or thinking about sex. I'm all about sex scenes in the books I read, but you can have too much of a good thing. There were almost zero conversations about their relationship, Hig's son (and Brant's best friend) finding out, or really anything else.

Brant came across as so immature. I'm all about age gaps, but not when one of the characters acts more like an immature teenager than a grown man. I get that he'd been sheltered his entire life but still. It was just too much.

Another thing that bugged me about this book is that there’s almost no Christmas Falls mentioned. Sure, they’re there, and the movie is being filmed in town, but where were the Christmasy parts that I’ve loved in the rest of the series? Very few locals are mentioned or even on page.

Overall, I liked the book okay, but I didn't love it. That won't keep me from reading others by this author.

If I thought the last book felt disconnected…

Then this one wasn’t even part of the series.

Seriously, the only thing tying this book to the series was the fact that they’re supposedly in Christmas Falls. I say supposedly because it’s not like they interact with the town or anyone from the town is involved, and they mention a couple of names in one scene and that’s the extent of it. Kind of a bummer when interconnected standalones aren’t connected and feel like promo material instead of a contribution to the world that was built. The fun of them to me is missing when they lose the interconnected-ness.

The mechanics weren’t good, either, so there’s also that.

It’s not that I didn’t like the characters, it’s just that it was almost entirely spicy bits. It gave *s m u t*, but it also gave *the most important stuff was in another book and this is just the off-page bits*. It was fun, I guess, it just wasn’t exactly the fluffy goodness I’ve come to expect since I started reading through this series.

Ugh. I don’t know. It just wasn’t the same vibe as the others, and while it was f i n e, it wasn’t for me. I’m sure everyone else will absolutely love it.

3.75/5. I won’t complain, because it could definitely be worse. This could be sitting in a pile with the others in the “failed series” category instead of the one-off outlier. I’m honestly just thankful that this is the first one that I haven’t been all-for.

story of Hig and Brant

This is best friend’s dad to more romance, featuring Brant Lombardi and Hig Landon, and is book six in the Christmas Falls multi-author series - Season One.

Brant and Col have been best friends for since they were kids. Brant had a secret though, he has a big o crush on Col’s dad, Hig. It’s nearing Christmas and Brant and Col are supposed to go to Hig’s house in Christmas Falls for the holidays but Col gets stuck due to bad weather, which leaves Brant and Hig alone together. Woo hoo, forced proximity and best friend to buffer.

This book has been the spiciest one in the series to date. The story was fast paced and boy o boy do Hig and Brant make the most of their alone time. It’s also adorable that both of them have big feelings for each other and even better that Col is happy for both of them.

This particular book is linked to another series by Casey Cox, which I will be reading after my massive Xmas book reading festival.

Things to expect in this book are:
6th book in series
Multi author
MM holiday romance
Small town
Best friend’s dad to more
Actor x Producer
Age gap (25/42)
Forced proximity
Virgin MC / all the firsts
S*x toys
Monster c*ck
Spicy times
Can’t stay away vibes

This is so funny.
Brant is Hig’s son best friend and has been in love with Hig for years, but he never had the courage to confess his feelings for fear of ruining his friendship with his best friend Col.
A movie shoot during Christmas time in the small-town Christmas Fall and taking advantage of the fact that the 2 of them are alone, the magic happens between Hig and Brant.
Will Col accept that his best friend Brant and his father are a couple? Or does the magic of Christmas really stays in Christmas?

Such a funny Christmas story that I recommend

We are back in Christmas Falls to film a new holiday special in the ideal holiday town! Brant and Hig have always been in one anothers lives due to Col and their love, respect and support of each other is apparent from the prologue you have to read more to see how this all works out.
All I can really say is best friends dad trope done right!! These three dynamics are what true supportive relationships should be! Hig & Brant realize they are their own people and deserve to be happy and go for it! Col is the best friend anyone can ask for by being supportive of the two people who mean most to him!
And guess what, Col is kicking off Casey Cox new Vet Shop Boys spin-off series Vet Shop Boys Down Under and can not wait to see him find his forever person and hopefully get some cameos from Hig and Brant along the way!
Not gonna lie, this is my favorite by far of this combined universe. The dynamics were all so smooth and powerful that you fall for all of the main cast. What a way to go!

This was such a cute, no-angst holiday story. I love how easily Brant & Hig slipped into being together, and Col was great. It was great to see references to some of Casey's other series. You definitely don't need to read those series before this, but I highly recommend it. I'm excited for the rest of the Christmas Falls multi author series.

He lifts our joined hands and peppers my knuckles with tiny kisses. "That's what best friend's dads are for, right?"

2.5 ⭐️ I didn't dislike this book, but it was meh. Not good, not bad, just meh. One thing I liked is the son's reaction to his best friend & dad's situationship: no unnecessary drama. Actually, the whole book is pretty drama-free, and everything's a little bit too easy. But I guess that's to be expected from a holiday story. Maybe I'm just the Grinch 😈🎄

Hig is 42 years old, he's mature and successful, he had a son when he was really young and he's got a very good relationship with him; Brant, 25 years old, is a young and talented actor and he is Col's (Hig's son) best friend. Brat's got a crush on Hig for ages and they start a relationship during the holidays in the lovely town of Christmas Falls.
This story has literally no angst, the MCs are sweet and lovely, and I liked them, they start their relationship a little unsure about how to make it work, but there was never miscommunication between them and they were able to navigate through their differences. I also love Col very much, he is the perfect best friend and son.

I wouldn't have minded a little bit of tension to shake up the story a little, it was all too easy.

The references to the author's other books were nice.

I received an ARC of this book from Neon Rainbow and this is my honest review.

So much fun! Brant has had a major crush on his best friend's dad, Hig, for years. He's staying at his house with his friend, Col, for July 4 and can't hold back anymore one night when he takes out his most trusted purple toy, which he has nicknamed The Big Hig. Yeah, he's got it bad. What he doesn't realize, is Hig ended up seeing him finish while shouting Hig's name. That image has been living rent free in his head for months when he picks up Brant at the airport to stay with him for the holidays. Brant is an actor shooting a movie in Christmas Falls and the production company is Hig's. Col ends up stuck in NY because of a snow storm and now Brant and Hig will be alone together. Oh darn. 😂

Turns out, Hig shares some similar feelings toward Brant, especially after that July 4 display, and I don't mean fireworks! I will NOT reveal how these two finally get together because it's just so good and you deserve to read it. The two decide to take advantage of the alone time and enjoy each other until Col arrives. These guys fall hard and fast and fall into an easy routine together, and they're so damn cute!

This book is really steamy. There are so many graphic scenes with Hig and Brant enjoying each other, and they even get a bit kinky. The color purple has forever changed for Hig 🤣

There are some laughs along the way, especially thanks to the easy banter between Brant and Col. Their friendship is so sweet and they're really like brothers, which adds just a touch of awkwardness to the situation. No tears here, but there are some moments of heartache for the pair when Col finally joins them.

I'm loving this series so much! If you're trying to avoid the holiday spirit, this one's definitely not for you, but I absolutely recommend it! Age gap and friend's dad are probably some of my least favorite tropes, but I still really enjoyed this one!

In the latest installment from Christmas Falls, the narrative unfolds around Brant, who has harbored a long-standing attraction for his best friend's father, Hig. The familiarity between the characters, rooted in years of friendship, sets the stage for a captivating story of love and self-discovery. As Hig finally confesses his reciprocated feelings for Brant, the story takes an engaging turn, showcasing the seamless synergy between the characters. The ease with which Brant and Hig navigate their relationship, given their longstanding connection, allows for a swift yet authentic progression. One notable aspect is the portrayal of Brant and Hig as equals, effectively erasing the age gap that could have posed a challenge. The narrative skillfully explores how their personalities complement each other, fostering a relationship that feels grounded and supportive. The characters, Brant and Hig, find themselves at a crossroads in their lives. Brant contemplates leaving his acting career, while Hig considers scaling back his production company to explore the world. This shared juncture adds depth to their characters, highlighting the theme of navigating life's uncertainties together.

The inclusion of Col, Brant's best friend, adds depth to the narrative. Col's discovery of the romantic relationship between his father and friend is met with a solid reaction, injecting both sincerity and humor into the storyline. Humorous moments sprinkled throughout the book contribute to an enjoyable read, leaving readers with a smile. \ The story not only entertains but also provides a heartwarming portrayal of a supportive relationship. Col emerges as the epitome of an ideal friend, standing by the two people who matter most to him. The narrative weaves together humor, romance, and genuine emotion, creating a story that resonates with readers and leaves a lasting impression. I was provided with a copy of this book by the author. This is my honest review.

Absolutely loved this cute age gap/best friend’s dad romance from Casey Cox and was the perfect blend of the Christmas Falls series with a nod to the Vet Shop Boys series that I have enjoyed. This was a fast paced read that I finished in one evening so it’s the perfect quick holiday read. It does have some discussions about loss of a parent (off page).

Brandt is a childhood actor who has found himself in a bit of a PR debacle. While trying to figure out life a little beyond being a childhood actor, he’s gotten a bad reputation for himself but it couldn’t be farther from the truth. He’s headed to Christmas Falls to act in a holiday movie produced by his best friend’s dad, Hig, who also happens to be his crush for many, many years. Hig has always looked out for Brandt as the best friend of his son but after an incident over the summer, he starts looking at him with different eyes and doesn’t know how to deal with this new attraction.

I really like both of these characters and for them to finally get a chance to know one another outside of their prior roles as Col’s dad and Col’s best friend. Both characters also figuring out what is next in life, what does that next chapter mean for both of them in terms of career and what does that mean for Brandt’s toxic relationship with his mom. Hig wants to be supportive of Brandt but doesn’t want to overstep.

Sometimes the best friend’s dad romance trope throws me for a loop a little but I thought it was well done in this story. I won’t give any spoilers but the author doesn’t drag the whole situation out and make everything uncomfortable and I really liked how it was handled. Col, the best friend in question, is a great character and kinda funny. Am I hoping that Col gets his own book, absolutely and can’t wait to see what his story ends up being in the new series coming out next year. I read a complimentary copy and this is my honest and fair review.

Clausing a Scene by Casey Cox is the 6th book in the Christmas Falls series by various authors. Brant has grown up as an actor in movies and has even won an Emmy. He is returning to Christmas Falls from LA to be in a movie produced by Hig Langdon of Holigay Productions. Col, Hig’s son, has been Brant’s best friend since childhood and is stuck in New York due to weather, so Brant is staying at Hig’s house with just the two of them present. The problem is that he has a huge crush on Hig and his secret comes out in a very funny way. Unbeknownst to him, Hig also has a crush on Brant and while there are many reasons why they shouldn’t act on it, such as Col finding out and their age difference, they finally give in to their attraction and have lots of very hot love scenes. When Col is finally able to get there they think their affair has to end, but Col has figured it out and is actually delighted they are together. There is still some angst as Hig knows Brant has to return to his life in LA but circumstances change that bring them their HEA. I enjoyed this book. There is a lot of sarcasm but also love between all of the characters. Brant has decided that he wants to have a “fun” year doing crazy things, but when that brings him grief he realizes they aren’t what he wants at all. Hig is stoic but so caring of both Brant and Col, who have gone through some hard things in their lives. Brant has trouble with his controlling mother and Hig helps out as he can. The scenes of filming were also great and I would love to see that movie! I also like how Mr. Cox has brought in cameos of people and places in other books that he has written and that made the story even more enjoyable for me. I recommend this book if you are looking for a Christmas story with age gap involving a very close family and lots of steamy love scenes.

Clausing a Scene is Book #6 in the new Christmas Falls multi-author series. I’m going to state right now, IMO, it is the spiciest of all the books I’ve read to date. That is not a complaint! Casey brings Scoville Scale levels of heat to the story of Hig and Brant.
Why read this book?
❄️Actor, virgin MC
❄️ Best friend’s Dad
❄️ Age gap (25/42)
❄️ A cheesy holiday movie with a clever twist
❄️Dad bods, the best of best friends, and the friendly banter Casey does so well
Brant and Hig get plenty of time together waiting for the cast and crew of their live Christmas movie to battle sudden storms to get to Christmas Falls. I really liked how Brandt and Hig admitted their attraction early on and jumped right in.
In the midst of all the sexiness and humor, there were also important conversations about Hig’s bisexuality, and the complicated relationship Brandt and his best friend Col have with each of their mothers.
Brandt and Hig are both at a crossroads. Brandt ready to quit acting - there’s a lovely Easter Egg with Brandt winning an Emmy for Vet Shop Boys - and Hig is ready to scale back running his production company and see the world. They’ve both put their lives on hold to succeed in their careers, and are at the what comes next point. What they decide is lovely, and the support the give each other regarding their choices is wonderful.
And because I am a sucker for an after the HEA, I loved Casey having a 5 years later bonus story ready.
If you’re looking for a low-angst, high heat Christmas novel with hidden depths, great communication, and small town quirkiness, this is your book!

Here is the sixth novel in the new multi-author series (Christmas Falls): this is Casey Cox's "Clausing a Scene."
["I'm definitely on Santa's naughty list this year…

My agent calls me a PR nightmare, but I'm just trying to have some fun for the first time in my life. To clean up my supposed 'bad boy' image, I'm starring in a cheesy, live-action holiday rom-com set in Christmas Falls.

Ha, some punishment.

This book! D: It was so sweet and there was so much pining and just snow-globe-Christmas-bliss. Hig and Brant were/are perfect for each other, even if there were a few (smaller than they though) obstacles in their way.

Also, Brant's "bad boy" image?? He's a freaking innocent as fuck puppy. Okay, a puppy with a dirty mind, but he's so sweet and careful and cautious, and media just sucks.

Brant is Hig’s son’s best friend and has been since they were kids. He was raised by his mother, who is a real treat. She knows how to push Brant’s buttons and make him feel horrible.
Brant decides he wants to try things he’s missed out on as a child star, but fails at each thing he tries. However, he’s still labeled a Bad Boy by Hollywood gossip rags.
Brant is a virgin because nobody comes close to his idea of Hig, aside from his…friend that Hig catches him with. Ironically, said friend is also named Hig…

Hig is Brant’s best friend’s dad. Hig is bisexual and has always been willing to put his son’s happiness ahead of his own.
When a snowstorm forces Hig to be in close quarters with Brant—without his son as a buffer—Hig oversees Brant spending quality time with the aforementioned friend and calling out his name. This causes a bit of an awakening for Hig and how he sees Brant.

Brant wants Hig however he can get him, but doesn’t want to lose his best friend in the process. So, at the risk of hurting himself, Brant suggests they get each other out of their systems. Brant gets to have Hig be his first, and Brant has a beautiful memory of his first time. Of course, these are the best laid plans never backfire and these two totally won’t fall in love...

For a guy who grew up in the spotlight as a child actor, there is no one more down to Earth than Brant. He’s been good and never given any reason to cause trouble. But this year he tries to have a bit more fun. Experience things you’re supposed to do when you are young. Too bad anything he does just never seems worth it or fun in the end. He would much rather hang out with his best friend, Col, and… his best friend’s dad, Hig. Oh, and did he mention that he’s had a big crush on Hig for years? Probably good thing he is an actor. But things are about to change. First off, in misunderstandings and the paparazzi trying to stir up trouble, he’s gotten a label as a brat in the media and his agent is desperate to change that. So he finds himself being sent to Christmas Falls to shoot a cheesey live action holiday movie. And Christmas Falls brings him to Hig. And when Col’s flight gets delayed for a few days, well things are about to get very interesting. One thing leads to another and suddenly, all of Brant’s fantasies are coming true. But it has no chance of lasting, right? Hig’s view of Brant has definitely changed in the last few years. There is no doubt that twenty-five-year-old Brant is an adult. And when it’s revealed that Brant is into him… well all bets are off. It’s time for the both of them to give in to the feelings that are so clearly there. There are plenty of reasons why they wouldn’t work or should be together, but do they really matter when you find the one? This story was a lot of fun! Brant and Hig were actually a really great match for one another. Their dynamic was so natural and their chemistry was great. Another fun story in this series!

CLAUSING A SCENE is the sixth book in the Christmas Falls series. It is a multi-author series that can be read in any order and all as standalones.

Brant has been an actor since his childhood. He comes back to Christmas Falls to be in a movie his best friend's dad production company. Hig Landon is the owner of Holigay Productions and his doing a Christmas movie with the perfect backdrop of Christmas Falls. Brant and Col were supposed to meet but weather is keeping Col from arriving on time. Brant and Hig end up being alone for a few days. Brant has had a huge crush on Hig for years and being alone with him is a dream come true for him.

Hig knows being attracted to his son's best friend can't go anywhere but since Brant's last visit in the summer Hig has seen Brant in a different way. Finding Brant in the guest room having "alone time" Hig knows he should walk away but he can't seem to make himself.

Hig walking in on Brant is Brant's ultimate dream coming true but knowing they only have a limited time together makes Brant sad but ultimately extremely happy. The countdown is on for them to experience all the things they want but can they let Col know what's going on between them without losing him or each other?

This is a super sweet holiday read. I enjoyed Brant and Hig and watching their relationship unfold. Even though there is an age gap it didn't feel that why throughout the story. Seeing how Col reacted to their relationship was unexpected and so cute.

I can't wait to get more from Christmas Falls.

I was given a free copy of this book.

This story is hotter than the fire in the fireplace. Seriously, Santa is blushing.

Hig and his son’s best friend Brant find themselves alone, sharing his home during a snowstorm. It’s sweet as they awkwardly figure out how to interact with one another without Hig’s son there. And as they both try and ignore the naughty thoughts they are having. But there’s nothing like a snowstorm to help two blokes get together. And once they break the ice, these two certainly make up for lost time.

They are both at a bit of a crossroads in their lives, wanting to explore the freedom to have some fun that they had both missed out on - being a young father and child actor meant their lives weren’t completely their own. It was a great commonality that tied them together despite the age gap.

I also loved Hig’s relationship with his son. I loved how close they were and how supportive they were of each other. It was also fun to see Brant experiencing a lot of Christmas firsts.

It was a great mix of heat, heart, and humour.

I wished there was a bit more Christmas Falls in it, but I’m super excited to head Down Under for the Vet Shop Boys spinoff.

Fast paced, low angst & way more steamy than the others. Since best friend's dad is a guilty pleasure of mine as well as a bigger age gap than ten years this was a hit with me and I really enjoyed reading it.
Hig and Brant were very likeable MCs and fit together well. Perhaps because they already knew each other for many years through Hig's son Col, Brant's BFF.
I absolutely loved how easy Col accepted the relationship between his dad and his best friend and that they still stayed best friends.

I have to say this book was different than the others before. So far the Christmas Falls series suggested me a special kind of story with a lot of small town vibes, visiting locations around the town, meeting characters we already know and such things.
But here that aspect is more or less completely missing.

With it being solely about Hig and Brant and them holing up in the house a lot of the time it felt like they were in some kind of personal bubble. This story could have taken place everywhere, I didn't get the typical Christmas Falls vibe. Yes sure some things and some known characters are mentioned but we don't really get to experience it.

Now don't get me wrong, this does not mean that it was a bad story, because that was NOT the case. It just wasn't exactly what I'd expected after reading the other ones in this series.

I recommend this read, especially if a 17year age gap is your jam.

4.5 stars. Col and his father Hig are a steady factor in Brant’s life. Col is Brant’s best friend, Col’s dad is always supportive and kind.
Brant has been a movie star since he was a child and still doing well on screen. But lately, there’s the rumor going around Brant is a brat, a bad boy. It’s not all that, he trying to have fun.
At twenty-five he will star in a Christmas rom-com, to upgrade his image.

Christmas time means Col and Brant will be going to Hig. With Col’s flight delayed because of the weather, Hig and Brant will be together for the holidays.

There’s something you need to know, Brant has had a crush on Hig for years already.
Months ago Hig accidentally saw Brant with a big toy up in his ass where he shockingly heard him calling his name. He always regretted not doing anything.

“I am not liking my brain this morning.”

Finding Brant in the same position as months before was for Hig the moment to take action.
Finally!! Brant is in heaven, Hig is everything he wants, especially being his first!.

Guys, it’s a Christmas story, no stress to find here, and I loved it. I could relax and enjoy.
There is so much to enjoy, they are fun, insatiable and so in love!
This was a super pleasurable read!

Brant is an actor since childhood. He was raised by his single mom and his mom isn't great. He's 25 and still a virgin because he is in love with his best friends dad and nobody else compares. After his mom ditches him, he decides to spend Christmas with his best friend and Best friends dad. He is also there to film a movie that the dad is part of and to support his friend cause it's the anniversary of his moms death. Only problem is there is a bad storm and he gets there but the friend doesn't. So they get to be snowed in together for a day or 2 alone (the time was vague).

Hig is out (bi) and he likes his sons friend but doesn't want to cause trouble so he tries to hide his feelings.

This story was super sweet. I could not put it down and I read it in one read in under 3 hours. It was sweet and very steamy. I loved all the characters and thought the couple had great chemistry. It was kind of instalove but it didn't feel unbelievable given they both secretly liked each other prior. I went back and forth about whether to rat this 4 or 5 stars simply because there was zero drama and zero angst and it just felt a little too Hallmark perfect so I will rate it 4.5. I don't really mind when Christmas stories are fluffy perfect like this was. I would absolutely read it again and recommend to anyone looking for a super light read.

2.5/5 I missed the real involvement of Christmas Falls in this novel. I’d been really looking forward to the filming happening in Christmas Falls hinted at in the previous books, but it involved almost no locals or interactions with any of the Christmas Falls events. (I suppose this reduces repetition from the other books, but it was so much reduced it felt disconnected to me. This book felt like it could have been set in any small town. Or, honestly, any big city, for that matter, as most of it is indoor sex scenes.)

I know being in your forties is not actually characterised by any required behaviour, but for all the stated age gap between Brant and Hig, I found their speech and (not particularly mature) behaviour so similar that effectively, there wasn’t an age gap for me. They even ended up at the same place in their life, contemplated a big change in career/direction. I suppose you could just take this as proof that they’re meant to be together, but it was hard for me to really feel that when there was just so much sex and not much else once they were together.

I liked both their relationships with Col, Col’s reaction to the big reveal, silly stuff like the absurd and awesome goat scene, the chance for a more fulfilling direction for Brant’s life. But I think this just wasn’t long enough with enough actual relationship moments for me to feel the connection I wanted between these two.

Holiday age gap: 🔥hot, hot, hot!

4.5🌟 stars
Such a well-executed use of tropes that author Casey Cox has fit together here to make a sizzling holiday MM romance. It's got holiday accents but the part that stood out for me was their poignant belief that they are a couple that is destined to be parted.

Hig is in his early 40's, pretty dreamy and about two decades older. He's paired, thanks to a snowstorm that delays his son's arrival for the Christmas holidays, with actor Brant, his son's long-time friend, who's had a secret obsession with the older man for years. Shacked up in a cabin together as the snow falls, Hig gets an eyeful and finally makes his move on Brant before Col's arrival. From there on, there's an explosion of steamy times to make every moment of their alone time count before outside factors sever their connection.

I liked that the romance first becomes physical here but these guys have known each other for years so their easy familiarity fits. And Col's reaction is pretty amazing, considering. As is the way they take what seems at first to be a short-term thing and work to make their lives mesh for more than a holiday vacation.

A mix of cold winter weather, hot romance and a happy ending? I say yes, it really worked!😉

I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.
