Hellhounds who love scritches, a hellhound baby who’s as adorable as he is menacing, a special tree with beautiful buds, and Lord Hades in a pale pink shirt. This story has everything to make you smile.
Hellhound Cain was beyond frustrated. He couldn’t even visit his pack mate in New York without some curly headed blond following him around. It wouldn’t be so bad, but every time Cain tried to talk to him and ask him why he was being stalked, the man just disappeared. Which was a shame because the blond was cute…
Oliver Jackson, known as Ollie, didn’t know why he had to keep following the mystery man all over the place. He got a stomachache if he tried to stay away, and his magic insisted on translocating him to where the unusual stranger was. But then, one day, an amazing dog with flame-filled eyes sniffed at the tree he was hiding in, and Ollie’s life changed forever.
Elven swords, magical summons, and even a meeting with Death himself - life was anything but smooth sailing for Cain and his new mate. Pack mate Beau was on the verge of a nervous breakdown as his and Blue’s baby was due any day and that just added to the tension.
Reading Precious Blue (Hellhound Collar series #2) will help readers better understand the secondary characters, but this one can be read as a standalone. The story is a complete HEA, with no cliffhangers, although the Epilogue sets the scene for the following book in the series, involving a different couple.
Lisa Oliver had been writing non-fiction books for years when visions of half dressed, buff men started invading her dreams. Unable to resist the lure of her stories, Lisa decided to switch to fiction books, and now stories about her men clamor to get out from under her fingertips. When Lisa is not writing, she is usually reading with a cup of tea always at hand. Her grown children and grandchildren sometimes try and pry her away from the computer and have found that the best way to do it, is to promise her chocolate. Lisa will do anything for chocolate. Cain the hellhound meets his mate, a sweet and unusual man named Ollie who has been stalking him, and finds unexpected issues plague them as with everything hellhound couple.
In a different twist from the other books Cain is actually great at the relationship thing. He understands what Ollie needs in connection, caring, and love. Cain dotes over children and thinks of others feelings along with his own. So in a twist the issue is instead with Ollie.
Ollie had an unusual childhood, hidden away by his mother until she suddenly left. He hid at first but eventually became lonely and went out into society, which he found odd and confusing. He finds himself drawn to Cain and this eventually brings them together. But Ollie's unusual past leads to a bigger mystery about him and a connection to some powerful people.
Though the story was intriguing and the different direction a nice change of pace, Ollie was a little difficult as a lead character. Though he is a grown man his social inexperience has him so innocent as to almost feel creepy at times. The idea of him having a sexual relationship when at times it isn't even feeling like he truly understands that beyond what he has seen in nature is a bit much. It was an odd direction for this character and the only draw back to this otherwise enjoyable hellhound story.
Cain is really irritated that he has a stalker, a very cute little man that disappears when he tries to talk to him. Ollie doesn't realize that Cain can see him so he runs. Ollie was raised in hiding and told he would be killed if his existence was discovered. But Ollie is attracted to Cain and has stomach pains when away from Cain. Cain tracks him down as a hellhound and Ollie loves the dog on sight and walks and talks to him. The rest of this exciting and heartwarming tale is their mating, Ollie's bad parents and a surprise pregnancy with friends from previous books supporting and loving them. A great addition to the series.
Hellhounds are the best! This series is so much fun, reading these stories always leaves me in a high mood and this one is no exception. The story is about a hellhound longing to meet his fated mate, an unknown magical species and a mystery to be solved. Its low angst, but with plenty of action and adventures. I love that these stories are set in the same world as The Gods made me do this and the Cloverleah pack series. The characters are very likable and the author has taken the time to write a solid story that is a pleasure to read. No cliffhanger.
Absolutely loved this. 100% magnificent. Lisa oliver truly scored big time with this story and this pairing. It was sweet and heartbreaking and hilarious and literally everything a person could want in a book. I'm going to start saying "bumping bottoms" as much as humanly possible that's for sure. I just wish poor Ollie didn't have to go through so much, he was such an adorably sweet guy. Thankfully he got the HEA he deserved with Cain.
10000 times reccomend and a billion stars on top of it.
Another enjoyable story from Lisa Oliver. Interesting, well-developed characters, with an intriguing storyline that has just enough twists and turns to make it good. It is a nice switch to have the issue be with the partner and have the hellhound be the thoughtful one. Actually, there were a few switch-arounds that worked well. My only issue came with the reappearance of the mother - it felt like more could have been done there. Can not wait for #4 - especially since a hellhound I was not expecting to hear from for quite a while decided to step up and claim his turn.
I absolutely love this series. Lisa Oliver has created a world that is endlessly fascinating and populated with endearing characters. I love the connections between the characters. This story has it all. These Hellhounds and their mates have a connection that we all wish for. I can't wait for Faron's story. Please, please, please keep writing and I will happily keep reading.
I always enjoy a book by Lisa Oliver and this one was another great one. I loved Ollies pure innocence, his big heart and his love for Growler and Cain is totally the right Hellhound for him with his gentleness and protective personality. Can't wait for more Hellhound mates
I absolutely adore author Lisa Oliver. She never fails too write a story that tugs on your heartstring. As always, I laughed throughout the story and was stunned at other times on the selfishness of others. I will definitely be decreasing this story as I do the others.
This author is on my very short list (like 3 people short) of instant purchases. Lisa Oliver is a true story teller. No matter the series, it never feels like it has been written according to a formula. I finish a book feeling like I've met new friends. And after this book, I need to find a stuffed hellhound to sit in the corner of my room. Rofl!
I’ve loved all the books in this series but this one stood out from the others for me. Cain and Ollie just appealed to me more than the others have. I loved that Beau and Blue also largely featured in the book. In my opinion this is sweet romance at its best.
You consistently tug on my heart strings. Very time I get one of your books I read it from front to back. Thank you for all the lovely characters. I can't wait for the next ones.
Cain and Ollie are absolutely adorable. I loved everything about this book. Ollie is the sweetest thing ever and Cain in just as perfect they are the best parents.
Well, so far, I haven't read a book of Lisa's that I didn't like. So many different personalities. I'm looking forward to the books coming out in September. Can be stand alone but reading books 1 & 2 in the Hellhound Collar series, in my mind, makes it better.
What a wonderful story! Book 3 in this series, and it's just a joy to read. There is danger and deceit that is heartbreaking to read about. The amount of love and family in the end and quirky personality of Olly will win you over right away.
Love these stories write faster please!! Sorry shouldn't be that hard on you! I bet it's hard to write on demand! Love your books so much! I'm a fan so when the new book is out I'm going to get it!!!
Awesome, Lisa Oliver books just keep getting better and better. Cain and Ollie are perfect mates for each other. Be on the lookout for adventure, love and lots of happy family moments in this book. I recommend this book and others by Lisa Oliver.
Despite not having read any of the other books in the series, I really enjoyed this one. I loved Ollie and Cain. I thought they were so sweet together. All in all, a really good story.
Found this book to be delightfully different than most m/m paranormal. Ollie was just so sweet and innocent and Cain was just the best. I started this series out with this book so I will have some catching up to do. Recommend reading.
Ah Lisa has done it again and I’m running late for work because of her. Lol. A heart warming tale set in the world of Cloverleah of a hellhound and his quiet little mate who would get along great with Thor’s mate. Thank you Lisa!
I love Ollie!! He is so sweet and innocent. Glad to see some of the hounds have a clue…sort of. Growler is hilarious and I hope we see more hellhound puppies!! So ugly and cute!!!
I really enjoyed this addition to the Hellhound series. It was a nice low angst story. I liked how there was some stalking in the beginning. I look forward to the next book in the series.
Another great book from Lisa Oliver! The main characters were wonderful and its always great to get visits with returning characters too. Totally recommend this book!
Love it and I really loved Ollie but I also love the hellhounds and the bond they have with each other and the fact they are so afraid of showing emotions
