I lost my mother on April 10, 2018. I had many questions. Some of them being, "Where did my mother go?" "Is she safe?" "What is she doing now?"

After my mother's intensive care and suffering which lead to her death, I developed PTSD. 50 Days of Heaven partnered with counseling, helped me look to the future with peace. This book confronted some things that I wrongfully believed about Heaven and put pieces of truth that I knew about Heaven into a beautiful canvas of what Eternity will be like.

50 Days of Heaven was not only helpful in answering those questions but it gave me hope during this time of despair and sorrow. I look forward to the day I can be with Mama again and with my Savior with great aticipation.

I will admit, some of the devotions were a bit cheesy but, overall, I highly recommend this book.

Read this heaven devotional with my mom and siblings from January until March. I learned so much from this book about heaven and I grew up in the church.
Randy brought great insight, tons of Bible references, good Narnia references and so much Hope!

After reading the this book I understand more :about intermediate heaven and New Earth, what we will do in heaven, look like, enjoy, dream, and explore.

I would recommend this devo to anyone curious about it heaven and to those who think they know everything there is about heaven.

Glad to have read it with my sweet family who will all be going there with me.

After reading his book Heaven, this is a good way to break up the information into bite size chunks that you can meditate and think on. Very inspiring and comforting. What a great future we have in store for us.

This book was great! I enjoyed it all the way through and it gave me a lot to think about. I liked that it was very grounded in scripture and provided lots of personal or real-world examples. Sectioning the information into the devotional style was a great choice because I could think and pray about each topic instead of taking it in all at once. Some sections were a bit repetitive, but that didn’t bother me.

This is the second time I have read this book and I really enjoyed reading it again. We read this as a family and it provided so many great discussions as a family and insights to the treasures that await us. Definitely worth a read

'Fifty devotions to spur your heart toward eternity.’

In 50 Days of Heaven: Reflections that Bring Eternity to Light, Randy Alcorn pulls select portions of his bestselling book Heaven (Tyndale House, October 2004) into short, power packed devotions.

Each devotion has a bible verse, a quotation, the text of the devotion, and ends with a prayer. This was my favorite prayer. I am praying it on a daily basis:

“Father, fill us with the wonder of being able to see you face-to-face.”

Why read about heaven when you are battling so much suffering in your day-to-day life? Because, to the Christian, Heaven is our destination. Knowing what the Bible says about what is promised to us, establishes a perspective and gives us hope when we face troubling times.

Secondly, and perhaps more importantly, when we focus on Heaven, we begin to see the people around us differently. We rejoice with those bound for heaven and we grieve for those who are not.

Pick up 50 Days of Heaven: Reflections that Bring Eternity to Light and read these short messages about where Christians are destined. Very enlightening and enjoyable, filled with wonder and hope. I recommend it highly.

Randy does a great job of bringing about overlooked scripture and focusing on Heaven. This book resulted in many discussions with fellow readers. While some of the material seems to me to be wishful thinking, but much material for thought.

I picked up this book after losing my dad to cancer in June this yr. I just really deeply wanted to know what all he was experiencing and I knew the basic things that he would have no more pain from this life, both physically and any emotional pain we feel and that he would be with Jesus and any loved ones there but this expounded my view of heaven so much more. I had never connected before that the Heaven we experience if we die now is more of a temporary Heaven until Jesus returns and this cursed earth is destroyed and a new earth replaces it. Like how Eden was before the fall only better!! It was just really eye opening and I think really I am still digesting it all and it wouldn’t be a bad idea to read thru it again at some point. It covered so much yet I know that there is still so much to learn. This has def helped my grieving process in a comforting way and really makes that scripture ring true for me in my heart, “Even so, come, Lord Jesus!”- Rev 22:20 Nothing on this earth will ever come close to comparing with what we will experience when we pass through that door of physical death from this life to eternal life with Him. ❤️

This book contains 50 daily devotionals about Heaven that will introduce new ways of looking at Heaven -- all completely Biblical. Here's a blurb from the book, "If you've always thought of Heaven as a realm of clouds, disembodied spirits, and eternal harp strumming, you're in for a wonderful surprise. These thought-provoking meditations will forever change the way you think about the spectacular new universe that awaits us: new heavens and a New Earth, where Jesus will be the cosmic center, and joy will be the air we breathe."
For example, when I read Day 14, I was blown away by the wonder of Heaven. Here's the note I wrote on the page, "I am overwhelmed by the beauty and truth in this chapter. I weep as this truth resonates deep within my soul!" This is an absolutely wonderful book!!!

This devotional focuses your heart and mind on what the Bible says about heaven -- for 50 days! My ideas about heaven and, particularly, about the New Earth are much less vague now, and I have a clearer vision of the hope that lies before me. Thinking about heaven clarifies everything we do here on earth, and brings everything into proper perspective. I really appreciated this book, and was blessed to spend the last 50 days basking in the joys of heaven.

A wonderful companion/ follow-up after reading the book Heaven. Daily reminders of all that we have to look forward to in our Eternal Home! Longing for Eternity to be in the presence of the Lord, see and experience a world of beauty beyond the best this wonderful Earth offers now, be with loved ones along with all those I never knew but can meet, and experience the best God has for us without the sin and brokenness we live with now!

inspiring truths to hold on to!

Recently my precious husband went to his eternal reward. I miss him everyday. What encouragement to hold fast to the promises from scripture to live forever with Jesus and to spend eternity alongside our loved ones who have accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord! I know the Lord has a purpose for our lives. I want to stay focused and ready for all the Lord has planned! So encouraged in this moment to press on…

Everyone should read this book. This world is NOT all there is, if you have accepted Christ as your Savior. There is a bright tomorrow that is more beautiful than we can comprehend, and we should all desire to be part of that and strive to be in God's presence forever more.

Great words, Randy Alcorn!

I have read the full-length version of this book which was so rich. This shortened version arranged in 50 devotional readings did not disappoint. It was biblical and very thought provoking. I think it would be a great one to share with people who are grieving or with those who want to grow in their understanding of heaven but can't or won't read a longer book like Heaven.

There's speculation, of course, and quite a bit of "well, the Bible says ___, so then we can assume ___". But it was still great to read, to think more about heaven. It also sparked good discussions in my Bible study

I listened to this audiobook, and it was fantastic. Narrated by Randy Alcorn himself. He gives such deep insight into what scripture says about heaven and the new earth.

This book has greatly expanded my idea of what God has given us to look forward to for all of eternity!

I very much enjoyed this book about Heaven. It provides much perspective on Heaven and the New Earth and how involved we will be “on the other side.” I appreciated how this side of death is in preparation for eternity.

The devotional is worthy of a 4.5 rating. It relies mostly on scriptures. I could have done without all the references to Narnia and all the quotes from other authors but the bulk of the devotional was on point.

One of the dullest, least useful books I have ever read. Full of dubious speculation and questionable inferences. Don't waste your time.
