Pokojný dych, pokojná myseľ: Objavte liečivú silu dýchania

Rate this book

Geše YongDong Losar, učenec a mních starobylej tibetskej tradície bön, nám vo svojej knihe ponúka overené praktiky, ktoré nám pomôžu vyrovnať lung energiu. Vďaka bohatým vedomostiam, ktoré získal počas rokov štúdia a praxe, sú tieto praktiky jednoduché a vytvárajú ľahkú cestu k väčšiemu pokoju, sile a jasnosti mysle.

Entertaining read, and touches on the spiritual/mystical side of the breathing exercises and meditation practices that has been developed and passed down for hundreds of years. I read this as a research and to gather ideas for the fantasy story I am writing and also as a continuation of the 'Breath' book by James Nestor. Although many claims in this book must be taken with a grain of salt, it is nevertheless and entertains and interesting read.

A brilliant book.

Every note of it is clear, insightful and exciting to discover. The practices are masterfully explained and profound. When I do them I feel aligned, clear and grounded, released from the binds of karma and mind-stream chatter.

Geshe Yongdong Losar and Bernadette Wyton are a potent team. I hope they continue to produce wisdom teachings like this. Yes, please.

Bön tends to be my favorite wisdom tradition. I muck about somewhat with other methods, teachers and traditions but the Bönpo's seem to have the most delightful revelations and lessons/practices, and so they engage me more than the others. I do wander off to explore but am always drawn back. This book has me right back in the spacious wonder of it all. The appendix about Bön cosmology was astonishingly beautiful, too: Origin and alchemy stated in total, logical simplicity.

The book itself is beautiful. Wisdom Publications tend to do a great job and this lovely book is no exception. It's laid out with great clarity, the text is elegantly sized and inviting to read. I love the cover.

A decade ago I read "Awakening the Sacred Body" by Tenzin Wangyal and Marcy Vaughn and it is awesome, too, so I am familiar with Tsa Lung Trul Khor. I hesitated buying "Calm Breath, Calm Mind" because I thought it might just be a rehash. Well, much of it is, but in this case that is a huge and delightful positive because it is such a clear, succinct statement by an equally lyrical, articulate voice. Reading it reignited my practice and intensified its effects.

*sigh*

There's plenty of information that's not in Tenzin's book, and there is information in Tenzin's book that is not in YongDong's book—subtle variations in emphasis and teaching style—but they compliment each other and if you are drawn to this practice i recommend reading both.

Thank you, Geshe Yongdong Losar and Bernadette Wyton for this extraordinary gift.

Not my thing. I guess Novak Djokovic and I have different taste in books (he loves this book and that is how I heard of it).
