I hate to say it but I was so close to this book being a DNF.
Overall, I found it very boring and too similar to the first book. I lose myself in books but this one- I found myself struggling to even finish a chapter.

Luca & Peyton
Luca Dunn hasn't had it easy since his father found out that he was Quarterback material since he was able to throw a football. Wanting to live his dreams through Luca, eat, breathe football, going to the NFL, living the football dream. But since they lost their last game of the season Luca's father is disappointed in his performance, not in the "hey, we all have off days" but more angry. He's drummed a whole lot of negative thoughts into Luca over the years. He's breathing more further down Luca's neck.
On top of that, his friendship with Letty is fragile and he needs to sort that out, and his relationship with his twin Leon also needs a bit of work too. But the cherry on top is that of the return Peyton Banks, the girl who was his everything, they made plans to go to the same college, settle down, until said something that to Luca didn't want to believe to be true and he convinced himself she had to have lied. Then she left, ripping his heart out, turning him into this cold, angry, person he is now.
Peyton Banks is making the most of her life now, since she left five years ago her life has taken one hell of a turning. She thought all those years ago that Luca would have believed her, but she was wrong. He broke her heart. Her Mum then packs her and her sister, Libby's lives up and moved away. Peyton is now back, moved in with her Aunt, picking up the pieces of what's now going to be her life.
She's working at The Locker Room, a sleazy sports bar, it's her best option, it pays the bills.
When the two of them see each other for the first time in years, it's at The Locker Room, Luca can't believe his eyes and starts to plan his vengeance for the lies she told him. Peyton can't believe how much Luca's changed over the years. Gone is the boy she loved, but the man he is now is now is terrifying, cold and angry.
Luca can see that Peyton has turned into an attractive woman, she may look innocent, but he knows better.
Peyton makes friends quickly with Letty, Ella, Violet, West, Micah and Brax. And kind of reconnects with Leon.
With what Luca's doing to her she should be terrified, but ironically she feels safe around him. But she's getting to the point of that it's pointless getting through to him, he doesn't deserve the full truth if he couldn't believe her all those years ago. She wants him to be worthy of it.
Luca comes face-to-face with the truth that Peyton told him nearly 6yrs ago before her Mum packed up their lives and left town.
He's determined to make it up to her. He should never have doubted her. He just didn't want it to be true. Facing up to everything he's put Peyton through, realising what her life had to have been like over these years apart and what she's going through. She's not changed, except for becoming more beautiful, determined, caring and he's still in love with her.
Peyton is trying to protect and put what's remaining of her family together and first, but Luca is distracting her.
She's thankful that he was there for her when she needed him. But she needs to protect her heart, she can't let him shatter it again. So she's thinking with her head. Sending him away is the best solution and telling him that it's been a mistake doing what theyve been doing.
Even though she hates him, she still loves him.
He's changed over the years, he's mean, cruel with a dark essence. Wondering if the boy she once knew and loved will ever come back to her.
Luca thinks that Peyton is warming up to him again. But she shuts him down. So he does what she asks and leaves her be, for now. He never thought that he'd ever set eyes on her ever again. But here she is and he's now wanting to destroy the person responsible for all the heartache that they've caused them.

I don’t get the high reviews… it‘s the same story, same behavior as the characters in the previous book.
First part:
Take kane and letty, change their names to luka und pedton. Voilà, different names, same behavior.
A childish alphahole who can’t deal with his emotions. A naïve heroine who can‘t stay to her words. Mask it as kinky and you have your story.
I hate Luka. He‘s such a hypocrite. I don’t know if i can change my mind with the second part.
I‘m over such storylines. The rich asshole and the lost heroine who can‘t defend herself and falls every fucking time again for him despite she already knows that he is the absolute worst.
Second part:
This didn‘t do it for me either.
Luca was still an ass, drowned himself in selfpity, alcohol and weed.
Peyton accepted everything, his money, his acting out and that was it.
The epilogue with leon showed me the next two books with him and his heroine will be exactly the same: alphahole with all his power and sexdrive plus defenseless heroine who can‘t stand up for herself. She has a secret why she acted like she acted, he acts on her like a childish juvenile. He finds out her secret, want to make it up to her, she forgives him, the end. Nope, won‘t read these books…

Another page turner. This is Luca's story. If you read Letty and Kane's story which I recommend you will know Luca's life is spiralling out of control the tension between Letty and his brother, the team and his dad he is barely holding on and the he runs into Peyton his first love. I don't want to give anything away so I'm just going to saying I couldn't put this down I got sucked into their story as I needed to know why Luca was so angry and what Peyton said all those years ago that Luca accused her of lying. I will warn you just as things start to get interesting it does end in one heck of a cliffhanger. So now I anxiously wait for the next installment. Loving this series and can't wait to read more.

Gosh almighty are these two stories about Luca and Peyton the best of the best! “The Vengeance You Crave”—Peyton has just transferred to MKU and hoping not to run into Luca. It is a big campus so she figures she won’t run into him. Well she’s wrong and it is worse than she thought. Guess our pasts will follow us wherever we are. It has been 5 years and a lot has happened. Why couldn’t he have believed her. She knows what she said was like a bomb going off but it needed to be said.—“The Destruction You Desire”—OMG!!! What the hell? What is Luca doing here? Then Peyton faints. If Luca wants to find out the truth, coming into Aunt Fee’s home with show him literally. Let’s hope he reacts better than before. Looks like a lot of truths are coming out. Will this make it better or worse? Guess time will tell!

Luca and Peyton is a second chance romance with a lot of lies and secrets in there. You definitely dislike his dad, well I did.
I feel like this is a very heartbreaking story with a happy ending.
It shows you pressure parents can put on a child who in sports and on themselves with pressure of college. It was a good read.

I get the comments saying it’s similar to the Letty & Kane’s story as there were definite similarities.
I’ve read other darker romance series where the MMCs have different ways of acting which is why this rating is lower. I still enjoyed it & will read Leon & Macie though

I really enjoyed this book it was just slower than what I thought it was, and this is the collection
