Read this on the plane over to London!!! I absolutely love this series and it’s so true to the game!!! The artwork is gorgeous and the characters retain their voices from the game itself. It’s a very quick read!!
The only negative I have, and I’m pretty sure I commented on this for volume 1, is that the action or battle scenes are very cluttered and it’s hard at points to determine who’s who or what’s what.
Doesn’t detract from the overall enjoyment though and Nanako ALWAYS makes me smile!!!

I can't with the cutaways
📺 My main gripe with this manga is how choppy it is. From the end of the first manga to the beggining of this one I am left feeling that I am missing a piece.
📺 Feels rushed. At this point in time I do not care enough about Yukiko or understand the depth of her relationship with Chie. If they'd added more emphasis in the first volume I would've gotten it, but the fact is that I don't got it.
📺 By the later half of the manga I did actually enjoy Yukiko and Chie's relationship. The whole thing felt very relateable as they were very close yet they struggled to form that more emotional connection. I enjoyed it but I just know their relationship will be dropped as the series goes on.
📺 Similar to the last point, but I enjoyed Yukiko's resolve to be independent. She's been coddled her whole life and wants the feeling of autonomy. But yet again, she will probably never get the spotlight to complete this arc.
📺 Nanako!! Nanako characterization!! I think it should've planted seeds first voljme but whatever.
📺 I dislike the cutaway to Kanji and Naoto. It was unnecessary and felt oddly placed.

Listen, I thought the first volume made Yosuke and Yu seem a little gay, but THIS volume blew it out of the water. Chie and Yukiko were SO FUCKING GAY DFJKGDFKGJK
Which I'm absolutely here for. Like literally in the manga people are saying how they ditch school together, are attached at the hip, and make people feel like third wheels. THESE BITCHES LESBIANSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

But yeah, I had fun. I'm not really a Chie or Yukiko enjoyer but I still had a good time :D

Quick stories of Chie and Yukiko who join the fray. Did not feel as in depth into plot as the previous one; now it feels more like they're introducing characters one at time until the party is full. I expect another few volumes before the plot really moves again. Battle scenes are ..slightly.. better, but still not great.

I’m reading this series in lieu of actually playing Persona 4, and I think the manga suffers sometimes because it assumes you’ll have already played the game. The battle scenes in particular are often hard to follow, as I struggle to fully grasp what I’m looking at when unfamiliar Personas are duking it out. Otherwise, it’s not bad - intriguing enough that I plan to keep reading.

Definitely an improvement on the first volume. The character arcs of Chie and Yukiko felt rushed like those in Volume 1, but the pacing is definitely better. Chie sorta highjacks Yukiko’s moment, but I get what the author was going for and just wish Yukiko had a bit more time for her stuff.

Soji (aka Yu) Nurakami and friends continue the investigation of the Midnight Channel. After saving another victim the group begins to theorize on how the victims are chosen. We also see more into Soji's life with the Dojimas and the Japanese holiday, Golden Week.
I loved the PS Vita remake of the game this is based on, and as I said in the review of Vol 1, The Vita version of the game is worth buying the system alone. (The original version is on the PS store to download on the PS 3). If you love JRPGs I would recommend this game, and the manga series.

Okay, I'm still not sure what's going on, but I like these characters. Nanako is the cutest and I'm already shipping Chie and Yukiko because who wouldn't? I shall continue :)
