I found this book in the library give away basket. I had shelved it for a few years and found the other day when cleaning up. Pulled it out and then it sat around ... I think the cover design and title was a bit uninspiring. However, when I started to read it, I was surprised at how good it was. It is very local, being that I live in Darwin and I can relate to all and most of the characters in the book. Even though the book says, characters are fictional, I am sure i know who they are talking about, especially the innuendos about certain politicians etc.. Coincidentally, I was reading about one of the characters in the book and found the same surname in the NT News copy that I was reading.

The book is a bit sad in a way, but I think it is reflecting the environment, the heat, the people, the way things work up here and it addresses some important issues, though without providing answers.
