In Finding Beth, one might just find themselves as well.

This book was quite the emotional journey for me. I had planned to let it process before I added my review... but here I am, to sing praises, only moments after closing the cover. Beautifully written. Written with such heart that it plays out on the page as if it is happening right before your eyes... making you a part of the story from the very first chapter. Beth's world becomes your world. You are no longer a reader of a story, but are suddenly part of the character's lives, relating (sometimes too well) to their fears, hopes, and dreams.

Beth is perfectly crafted... beautifully broken and devastatingly real. You want to sit down with her over tea (or coffee with too much cream and sugar) and encourage her, pray for her and with her, root for her, cry with her, and cheer with her as she makes her way out of the darkness and tragedy that surrounds her. She's as tough as she is tender, and I really loved that about her. She's enduring, and wraps herself tightly around your heart. You can't help but love her and hold out hope for her story to end well. She's inspiring, even when she's falling apart. Even in weakness, her courage really shines through in the decisions she makes on how to handle her circumstances.

Adam... shew... what woman doesn't dream of a man like this? In fact, some of us out here in Married-Woman-Land might ponder the possibility of sending our spouse to an Adam Training Center or something! A true knight upon a white steed if ever a story had one... but in a very realistic sense. He is not some Disney-crafted prince come to save the day by breaking out into song and dance, but a real man-- a Godly man who will break out into genuine prayer for the woman he loves, and everyone that is important to her world. What a woman wants? What a woman needs? Yeah, he's all that and a bag of chips. The very best kind of hero a story can ever have. Every single woman should read this story, and understand that this is the man you are waiting for... the kind that God plans for your life. And it wouldn't hurt for men to read this, especially if they really wonder just what it is women want.

But even more than that, every woman should read this (single or not) and understand that the main "man in your life" is always God first. It is HIM you run to, no matter your need, for in Him alone can you find your hope, your strength, and your purpose.

I, for one, can totally relate to putting too much trust in others, leaning so well on them that my need for God falls to the wayside at times. Finding Beth is a great reminder (one I wish I had many moons ago) that the one I belong to first and foremost is God.

This book deals with abuse, and while there aren't a lot of intended triggers in the book, it does delve into some pretty intense situations here and there that made my heart shudder. Oh yes, as part of the "purple monkey club" myself, I related uncomfortably well to both Beth and Tiffany. This book would have been a Godsend for me a couple of decades ago, but I trust that God's timing is always best. It has blessed me now, and though at the moment my emotions are raw, I'm sure by morning light I'll be seeing things in a bit different light. I plan to recommend it to all the women I've met in domestic violence survivor groups.

This is a story of hope... of survival... of courage... and of finding the truest love there is, and in so doing finding yourself.

"Life Changing Romance"? You bet your socks it is!

I cannot wait for Tiffany's story.

Keep your eye on Linnette R. Mullin, she writes like an author on fire.

Finding Beth is a conundrum for me, as I only gave it 3 stars. Really, this all comes down to personal preference.

Allow me to explain.

The writing is superb. The author, Ms. Mullin, knows her stuff in the big world of books. Not a whole lot of exposition and telling going on here, and the scenes flow smoothly from one to the other. Chapters end fittingly. When it comes down to it, writing alone gets 4 stars (and I'm picky so that's a gold medal).

So why is there only three up there?

Well, like I said it came down to personal preference. Finding Beth isn't the genre I usually read. It's not my style. The story was sweet, but as it's not what I usually like it was difficult for me to follow through on it (it still only took me 3 days to read). Beth is a very nice girl, but she's too delicate for me to really back her as a reader. I've grown up in a family full of tough women, so I think Tiffany felt more my style (I hear Tiffany gets a story too. I'm excited!).
Adam was one of those awesome guys that seems to have nothing wrong with him. He's a guy that MILLIONS of women want/wish they had/ are so happy they ended up with. Again, he's just not my type (but holy hawkeye he was such a gentleman. That I respected hardcore).

If you love Christian Romance - you will ADORE Finding Beth. DROP EVERYTHING and go get it for yourself now!!!

If you're more like me and find yourself reading Ted Dekker's Thrillers when you choose to go the Christian Book route, then check yourself before stepping down this lane (mainly because, as I said, the writing is so good I don't want negative reviews to pop up just because people like thrillers not romance).

Finding Beth is a wonderful Sunday Afternoon read. Snuggle up with some hot coco (or tea, as Beth would) and get ready to giggle and blush right along with a sweet girl who figures out what she REALLY wants from life and how God's been wanting that for her all along.

I received this book as a goodreads giveaway. I hit the jackpot with this one. Very well written story with great character development. This book flows so smoothly while it takes you into some serious relationship issues. The author does a very good job in creating true-to-life characters with some serious flaws. Not only does this novel express how important God is regarding our decisions and healing, it shows how having Christian friends and family can make a positive impact when we go through difficult times.

I highly recommend this novel for anyone who has had a difficult relationship and for those considering entering the dating world.

Emotionally manipulated, Beth struggles to be free of the relationship she has come to realize is a lie.Along the way, she discovers the true meaning of love when a young man steps into her life, only giving of himself instead of demanding from her.

Linnette’s debut novel certainly deals with some tough issues. A horrible ordeal on one side and a sweet love story on the other, Finding Beth offers hope to any woman caught in an unhealthy relationship. There is a way out.

This is a wonderful debut novel. Linnette's characters are multi-faceted and the plot is gripping. She tackles complicated topics like abuse in relationships with authenticity and directness. It is heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. I look forward to the next book in this series, and to reading more by Linnette R. Mullin in the future.

Should I rate my own book? I love this book! I think it's well written or I wouldn't let it be seen in public. I think I'll leave the rating to my readers, though. They'll be a little less biased. ;)

I could connect with the storyline and characters. What Beth went through throughout the story was pretty similar to my own experiences.

Mullin's character, Beth, was all me. Her need to escape mental and physical abuse, I could relate to. I wish I'd had someone like her friend, Tiffany, during my journey, but I could at least relate to Beth's courage.

This book is easily one of my all-time favorites.

A very powerful book

This is a very emotional book to read though very good. In life we can meet someone that is very domineering and can cause us physical, mental, emotional and verbal abuse. Some always get away with it while others don't. Beth was a very strong young lady who endured a lot in this book. I would read it again.

I was given this book as a first read. While I found the story to be very sweet, there were times when the book became too drawn out. Things became repetitive and I found myself skipping ahead because I couldn't bear to read the same conversation I had a few pages back. My husband confiscated the book when I shook the book saying "I get it already, move on!" Perhaps some additional editing would help because this book has great potential. I'm a Christian and I'm all for promoting ideals, morals and beliefs, but at some point over reiteration becomes a sour point and you can lose your reader.

Finding Beth is an inspiring love story about finding faith and healing after tragedy and abuse. Beth’s story drew me in from the beginning because of the beautiful mountain setting, genuine characters and sweet love story. I didn’t even get halfway through the book before having to reach for a tissue. Then the plot took an unexpected twist and I was so invested in the characters that I stayed up too late and finished the second half of the book. I can’t wait to read more books by this author in the future.

Allowing God to bear her burdens. Learning to trust. Learning to love and be loved, while going through unexplainable agony and trauma.

This tender and emotion filled book transported me directly into the story. While many things were predictable, there were unexpected twists that added depth to relationships within the story. I was also reminded that oftentimes we find God's best for us in the midst of confusion and trials. I highly recommend this book, and cannot wait to read the sequel.

Packed full of love, adventure, and suspense, Finding Beth had me turning the pages wondering what would happen next.

Guilt, anxiety, and indecision plague us all at sometime in our lives. It wouldn’t hurt to read Finding Beth before committing to a lasting relationship.

It is never too late to get out of a bad relationship and Finding Beth brings this truth out beautifully.
