The making of tea, dealing with stuffy nobles, and moving into a new place—that’s pretty much all that happened, haha! Always good to see the gang have more bonding time though.
I honestly don’t have anything else to say. 😂🤷🏼♀️ It was fun, and I bet Izana is going to be even more annoying as king. 😒 Yay.

A filler volume, in the sense that the mangaka sets up for a lot of things to happen in the next few volumes but this one contains one of my favourite scenes where Shirayuki stands up for herself! Also, the gang being together and just enjoying life was so good to see!
I feel like we actually got some great movement for Zen and Shirayuki to be together long term. I really liked everything about this volume, including the part that the anime had pulled forward to use. I like the placement of it better in the manga though.
If I had any complaint about this volume it's that when Shirayuki is in the palace no longer as a guest, it honestly felt like a whirlwind. I didn't super enjoy feeling that way because I felt things were happening too fast and couldn't keep up, but at the same time, I feel it reflected what Shirayuki was feeling too. (Though she seemed to handle it with much more grace and calmness than I would have in her shoes. LOL!)
I was SO happy when we saw our Lilias friends once more!! It was brief, but it made me so very happy! I feel like with every new group of people our gang meets, the cast of characters I come to love just keeps growing bigger and bigger! (AND with me wanting them all to come back at some point!)
And speaking of, I really really love these characters! I'm thankful I still have so many volumes to read because I'll probably cry once I get caught up. This volume really shows how close everyone is and growing closer still. Seeing everyone get ready for their day and be able to say good morning to one another definitely gave me some warm fuzzies. <3 Probably my favorite moment was that moment in the garden between Shirayuki and Zen as well as Shirayuki and Obi cooking together.
Also it's probably pretty late to say, but can we appreciate the humor Obi brings every volume? He has made me laugh out loud SO many times and so love his character! Also when Shirayuki introduced herself to that one guy and said why she was there, she absolutely slayed that situation! (Pretty sure my vision turned red there for a moment after what he said! Ha!)
I am very curious as to what is going to happen next with what was shared at the end! Hopefully, good things are ahead, even with the changes that will be sure to unfold!
This book was received as an ARC from VIZ Media LLC in exchange for an honest review. Opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are completely my own.
At first I did not know what to expect when reading this book for the first time. Being a huge fan of Snow White and reading so many adaptations of the story that I lost count, my interest was peaked. I loved how they made Shirayuki an herbalist and she has these blessings along with her journey and friends. Then meeting Zen and the love that started for them was so breathtaking that it brought back so many memories. The plot however was unique to Manga and how the artwork as always is so breathtaking that it brings the story to life pushing you along for the ride. I know this will do very well in our Manga collection and our teen book club will love this book too.
We will consider adding this title to our Graphic Novel collection at our library. That is why we give this book 5 stars.
I feel like a lot of this wasn't in the anime, I wish it was. The anime did trim some events that didn't directly involve or affect Zen and Shirayuki. It only got two seasons, and it mainly focused on our two adorable main characters. I know this is a very straightforward romance, in a semi-fantastical setting. But with such loveable characters and a romance that is easy to root for because it's based on respect of each other's character first and foremost. I don't care that each volume isn't filled with excitement and adventure. I just want to see these two happy. I just hope it doesn't take too long to get there. I want to see them get married. There are another 13+ volumes that I have yet to read.
P.D: OBI SABE COCINAR RE BIEN DIOSSSSS WFOWOOFOWWOOOOF

Okiee just finished rereading this volume, it was so cozy ☹️💗 nothing much happened but I just loved the vibes and the characters. The art style is so cute. Was such a nostalgic read, will def continue with the other volumes !
Shirayuki sure put Lord Yuha in his place! Quite elegantly done. The palace and gardens are quite well drawn as well, and I am still loving the relationships.
This whole volume was so cute and relaxing I loved it. Not much going on plot wise until the very last page, but that's alright. I'm excited for the next volume!
With adventures abroad at an end, it’s now time for Zen & the Art of Wisteria Maintenance, as our leads take it easy in the palace while dealing with the day to day and, of course, the imposition of duty by Zen’s brother.
I think one of my yardsticks for whether I like a manga is how many of the characters’ names I can remember between books and I know all of our principles by heart at this point. Watching Zen and his aides pal around is never less than a fun time.
While she doesn’t get to handle a plague, Shirayuki does get her moment in the sun when a pompous noble jackass makes a comment after she’s been elevated to living in the royal quarters. Shirayuki moments like this are always winning bits of business.
Throw in a shocking change for Kiki, Zen’s mishaps with arranged marriages (any other book would have wrung that for every drop, yet here, well, we see what a healthy relationship looks like), visitors from afar, a cooking scene (with the nicest looking drawing of oil I’ve seen in a while), and lots of goofing around and you have a book that might be sedate but isn’t dull.
In fact, I think my favourite scenes in the whole thing are during a chapter where we see everybody’s routine when they’re waking up. Such a simple idea, but it’s delivered expertly. This mangaka only makes this all look effortless.
I guess if you prefer the high adventure or trips abroad side of this series you might find this a bit of a let-down. I did not - while I enjoy the adventures, I do think the cast bouncing off one another makes this series work so well even as they handle their typical day-to-day.
4 stars - sure not much of anything dramatic happens, but if you have my interest the whole way through then you’re doing right by your characters and the reader.
finally. since 2010 when i started reading Akagami no Shirayukihime i couldn't get past the chapter of when Shirayuki and Zen kiss for the first time. i tried and tried and tried to continue the manga but i just couldn't get into it. all that until yesterday.after 3 hours of watching the 12 episodes of the anime, i was hooked!!! finished the whole thing and i cannot wait until the 24th of December for the next chapter! PS:my favourite is OBI!!!
I felt like most of this volume was just watching the main characters have fun hanging out with friends. I did like seeing how Shirayuki handled herself concerning a rude remark from someone. Not much happened regarding the plot until the very end--but I'm interested to see where that's going to lead...
Chapter 45 filled me with feelings of warmth and love. Everyone is so kindhearted and such good friends— everything is really great. It makes me so happy to see all of them grow and interact and simply support each other and enjoy one another’s company.
In terms of the storyline in the majority of this volume, I feel as though Zen and Shirayuki still have a long way to go before they can begin considering marriage, truly. They’re only budding as a romantic relationship, and as for Prince Izana, Shirayuki has only proven herself as an irreplaceable aide, not a Princess. Shirayuki must first mean much more to the kingdom to qualify as a suitable candidate for Zen’s hand in marriage. However, all of what is transpiring thus far are steps in good directions. Shirayuki is already finding herself in courtly gossip and, for the most part, has shown herself to be quite capable of defusing a situation in the most regal and mature of manners. However, she still has a habit of pushing herself too far and leaving her body somewhat vulnerable. While she is safe, thanks to her friends and comrades, she needs to learn to never show weakness outside of private spaces. Besides that, they’re both slowly winning the trust, respect, and interest of Prince Izana, and Shirayuki is moving up in the world by the effort of her own two hands. Furthermore, Zen is continuing on the path of a good prince, inspired by Shirayuki’s influence in his life. I always love to see how good they are for each other. And now they finally have a place where they can always say with certainty “see you tomorrow.” I think that means the world to Shirayuki, and Zen likely can’t put into words how glad and happy he is to do that for her.
In addition to all this, or rather, congruently with it, this volume felt like a warm sip of tea within a whimsical fairy tale. I really felt so at peace and so comforted and so entertained by all of it. It’s funny, warm, and most of all, endearing. It’s so tender and fun. I adore this series and this volume was quite a splendid respite from any of the trials and tribulations this group has faced. I feel true and utter happiness while reading this volume.

"Snow White with the Red Hair" is fantasy-type manga that takes place in a faraway kingdom. At the beginning of the tale, Shirayuki wants to become an herbalist, but the prince of Tanbarun is planning to make her his concubine! She makes a run for it and encounters Zen, the second prince of the nearby kingdom of Wisteria. Zen helps her escape from her plight and escorts her to his kingdom, where she becomes a full-fledged court herbalist. The rest of the story follows their adventures together (and apart!) as they develop deeper feelings for one another and work to overcome the gap between their social stations.
What impressed me the most about this story was how balanced the characters were. Often, characters are written with extreme characteristics and stereotypes. While this can be funny and distinctive, it can also get old after a while. It was refreshing to see that Shirayuki wasn’t a helpless princess, nor was she refusing assistance. She certainly did want to do things for herself and on her own, but she wasn’t above accepting help when she needed it. Even Zen, despite his stubbornness and rule-flouting tendencies, didn’t just rush off to do whatever he wanted all the time. Instead, he faithfully played the role of prince and followed his duty rather than his emotions.
Personally, I find it so much easier to connect with a character who knows how to flex and adapt as their situation changes. Plus, it was so exciting to see these characters build their relationship the “right way,” by working through the rules and customs of their world so they could perform the roles they’d been given to the best of their abilities.
I have a love hate relationship with this series. Like yes its nice to see their day to day life and like see the relationship between zen and shirayuki slowly progress but other than that its just a little boring after a while to me because there's no like plot or one big consistent like plot leading to something. Like every book could pretty much be a one off book. But basically what happened in this novel is that the gang moved into a new place into like the royal palace section of the palace which means like they are officially like known as people prince zen is close to and like associated with? Also there was a brat who went to say something to shirayuki about how she should just wait in bed and not be in this like hall of academics place and it genuinely kinda pissed me off but other than that nothing much really happened. Like im fine if nothing much really happens in like one volume but most of the volumes are kinda like that. If you are a fan of things like spy family im sure this would be right up your alley though.

Liked the 1st chapter. End of 2nd Prince Izana gives Zen the key to east part of the castle & allows Shirayuki to move in there. People are gossiping about it afterwards. 1 of the castle worker make an insulting comment to her & her relationship with Prince Zen, shocking everyone, & they were even more shocked at Shiryuki's response. What's worse for the castle worker is that Prince Zen heard the whole thing & makes sure he knows that he knows HOW he introduced himself to Shirayuki, making him & every person there wilt. After Shirayuki took a nap in the corridor due to a fever, strange rumors spread about her collapsing in the castle.
Not a lot happens in this volume. Mitsuhide and Kiki make up; they plus Obi and Shirayuki all get moved into the Royal Quarters as official members of Zen's entourage; and Zen tries to figure out a way to get out of many arranged marriage proposals.
I don't know if it was the delay on me reading this one, but I was incredibly bored. It's cute and sweet and Shirayuki gets a moment to be sassy, but meh...
Oooh! This had a lot of good stuff! Overall, this had new stuff, except for one scene that was in the anime.
Kiki Okay, it has been confirmed! I know certain group of fans would be so happy with this revelation. Poor Kiki and Mitsuhide! Poor Kiki, because Mitsuhide is probably going to faint when the time comes. Poor Mitsuhide, because he is dense and does not know that Kiki is talking about him. Even Zen knew it!
Zen and Shirayuki Yeah, there has been a development!
Cliffhanger! Who is the "she"? I have a few possibilities, but this could be a stumbling block for Zen and Shirayuki. Prince Izana seems a little taken by this news as well, which is saying something. Most of the time I feel Prince Izana is a few steps in front of everyone else. He excels at the long game.
2,5 stars It's not my cup. For Shirayuki's transfer to the royal chambers, there was only a hint of envy. In fact, Shirayuki was so worried that she got sick. More interesting is the banter between Kiki, Mitsuhide and Obi. The characters, the medieval atmosphere, the clothes are nice, but I'm not attracted to this manga. I'm only going to continue reading it because I've already bought all the volumes published so far.
