Allen Carr rip off

I can't see much new here. Kudos to the author for quitting, but the book is quite repetitive - very similar to Allen Carr but not as good. Shoddy editing too - the author can't use apostrophes properly and I couldn't get past the use of the term "cripple" - seriously, we are in the 21st century here! Disablist language much? Couldn't take the author very seriously after that.

Changed my Life

I am in my 50’s and have smoked for 30 years. The last 4 or 5 years, I smoked hourly. I quit loads of time, each time harder than the next. I read this book, and I knew I would never smoke again. I feel elated and free. I realised that for me to crave weed is no longer possible. It was all only an illusion. Weed lied to me as Alcohol lied to me. I never thought it possible to feel the THC leaving my body. Fully aware I smile. If u are stuck in the weed trap, u will find no better book to free u. Chris if you are reading this, I thank u. Although U say u don’t know if there is a God there, I believe u do. After-all u are doing his work.

I think his book is great. I was in rehab for my cannabis addiction, and relapsed when I came back to the real world. I had actually quitted cigarettes using Allen Carr's book, but I could not see how I could quit cannabis as well. Finally I found this book, and I was able to quit the same day and I've been happy for many years doing it!

I did not find his argument affective. He does not address that there are euphoric feelings. Instead, he enthusiastically gaslights the reason why we all relapse in the first place. I was looking for something realistic and scientific saying yes it starts with giggles and joy but this is what it is doing to damage your brain and body. It is all his opinion that is treated as fact. His approach is aggressive and it feels like he is yelling when reading it. His argument is that marijuana never gave you good feelings and happy times. That was all made up in your head. Gaslighting. But the thing is, is that it has given me so many blissful moments with friends and great memories. His argument doesn’t resonate with me. It was a fast read so not so much a waste of a time. He has some good points. But you don’t need to read the whole book to basically hear “you thought weed was good and happy but it actually wasn’t/isn’t so don’t use”. My addict brain needs more convincing. It felt like someone said “hey just don’t do it and stop being depressed” like ok thanks Karen good idea never thought I’d that. No guided help. His point to proving other views on marijuana is that “well there just lying”. Basically if you don’t think for yourself and just read and do everything someone tells you then sure this is for you. It felt stupid and a waste of time and obviously as you can tell… pissed me off.
