Jimmy “Mack Truck “ Simmons was delighted that he was selected to the Olympic Boxing Team three weeks before his next fight for the light heavyweight amateur championship.
About three days before the fight he was approached by four crooked cops known on the streets as The Brotherhood. They left an envelope with $30,000 and a note saying lose the fight or else.
His opponent was the nephew of one of the officers and a victory over Jimmy Mack would put him on the Olympic team instead. Jimmy Mack was undefeated and was not about to lose to someone he could beat with no hands.
Jimmy scored a first-round knockout in the match. He was in his dressing room when The Brotherhood burst in and tried to arrest him for disorderly conduct. By the time backup arrived, Jimmy Mack had knocked out three of the four officers. They roughed him up so bad he was rushed to the hospital. Fearing Jimmy Mack would reveal what really happened, they waited until he was sedated to beat him into a coma as the doctor stood by laughing while videoing the whole thing.
Fives years later Jimmy Mack awakens from his coma with vengeance on his mind. One by one he found the ones responsible and proceeded to give them these hands.
This was out of my realm of typical books I read. The concept was a good one. It could've benefited from some editing and proofreading. Overall not bad though.
