First Night is a prelude offered as an Amazon freebie [AMAZON LINK] about bartender Julia Bell and entertainment attorney Clay Nichols’ first meeting and night together.
Clay, in town on business and tired after a long day of negations decides to stop by the bar, Cubic Z to meet Julia. He had been given her info by her sister the weekend prior.

Nope, can't say that I blame the girl. Perfectly reasonable request.
Julia is a bartender who is craving some man action. But please a real one, not some wannabe who drinks sweet girl drinks in a bar. Scotch, Whiskey and Bourbon is just the kind of taste this girl is looking for and as luck would have it the right specimen just walked into her bar. Clay, is an entertainment lawyer and he is just in town for a day. Perfect!
First Night is a very short Novella and only the start for a series with a few more instalments. The plot for this one can be summed up in one word. SEX!
But that's not to say I didn't like this one. I just want to make sure you know what you're getting here. Well, in all fairness there is some really awesome flirting going on. Seriously. Clay and Julia have this thing down to a T. Really entertaining...oh, and the sex is hot and heavy! Some light BDSM is involved. *happy dancing* Also, you can bet your ass that the guy fulfils the inch requirement...he might even surpass the expectations. *wink wink*
Yup. Told ya! That quote there absolutely sold me at 34%.
All in all a solid start and it makes me want to read more. I just hope the writing gets a little better. It's probably me, since I just finished reading a really good book, but the dialogue felt a bit wooden from time to time. Oh well...going to read on. ;D

FIRST NIGHT was a short sexy-time novella. While in town for a business trip entertainment lawyer, Clay, gets a tip to check out a certain bar because of the smokin' hot bartender. Julia, lives up to her description and invites Clay to stay after she closes the bar. Once the bar closes my kindle heated up with their one night of adult fun.

First Night is a really short novella and the first part of Julia and Clay’s story. It is a promising start of the series. The writing style is great, the characters are likeable and the story sounds good.

Julia Bell needs a break from her problems. She wants to meet a guy that will meet her expectorations for a ‘real man’ (like what kind of drink he needs to order, etc.). And this happens when the sexy and captivating lawyer, Clay Nichols, enters her bar. He is the whole package- hot, intelligent, confident and charming. Julia is more than ready to spend the night with Clay...but their first night is even more special than she expected.
I loved Julia’s confidence. It is a bit soon but I think she will be a really interesting heroine. I liked that she knows what she wants and she is not afraid to go after it. What can I say about Clay....??!! Maybe just this: HOT HOT YUMMY HOT! Lol
I really enjoyed it!!! So yeah...I am definitely going to read the next parts of the story ;) I hope they are as good as this one!

5 Short & Sexy Stars
How does the saying go, “Short & Sweet” well I assure you while this story is short, the word sweet is not the word I would use; try Scorching Hot, Fire Alarm Steamy, Scandalicously Chemistry Crackling, Hilariously Sexy…..the adjectives could go on and on! I love Lauren Blakely’s books and novellas but now she has me hooked on her short story; there is nothing that this writer can’t rock!
First Night revolves around spitfire bartender Julia Bell, little sister of Mckenna from Trophy Husband and Davis’s partner and lawyer friend Clay Nichols.
Everyone has a met or has a friend that will remind you of Julia. She is refreshing real with herself and her expectations
”Julia longed for eight inches. Or really, eight inches and a brain. Was that so much for a woman to want”
She is confident, blunt and damn if she isn’t a riot. As we all have seen at least once, bartenders deal with a lot of interesting (that’s putting it kindly) customers, when alcohol is flowing thoughts are shut off and people just word vomit. Reading of Julia’s encounters with her customers is laugh out loud funny. She deals with them professionally yet make fun of them at the same time.
”And how about a phone number too?”
She flashed him her best “not a chance in hell, sucker” smile. “I’ve got a phone number for a taxi cab and I’d be might happy to provide that for you soon.”
Clay Nichols wants nothing more than “a fiery woman, the kind who could dish it out as well as she could take it.” Well this man definitely gets what he asks for in Julia. The physical attraction is WOWZER both their hormones immediately getting pumping. But it’s more than a physical connection that sizzles between these two. A witty woman who likes to dominate and be dominated mixed with a man who is assertively direct that puts a woman’s pleasure first.
So what happens when these two give in to the magnetic pull that is this sexifyingly electric attraction? More than SPARKS! First Night is a tantalizing tease that will leave you panting for more. Clay is a sexy smart mouthed attorney and he has eyes set on a sassy and sensual bartender. Julia is looking for a man with a nice package that can hold his own in a conversation. A few smoldering looks and you can only guess where this is headed...
I love how Lauren used supporting characters from Playing with Her Heart and Trophy Husband to put together this lustfully luscious prequel to Night After Night. I am sure that this little taste is just a morsel of the sexiness to come. If you like a dirty talking man that knows what he wants and takes it then you will love Clay from First Night. He is my book boyfriend for 2014. Eat your heart out Cara. He is mine!!!

It started.... fine. I had this book for awhile but I was waiting for book 2. I'm not even sure if it's out already but I was bored after reading A is for Abstinence so I've decided to dig a few novels that I've forgotten it even existed, and this was one of those.
She wants a guy, with an eight-inch long weiner, is she gonna ask, hey, 8 inches? no? fuck off! I felt nothing when they met, and felt nothing when they effed.
I know, I know, a long review for a very short novel, anyways. I don't know why I dislike this so much, I'm not PMS-ing by the way. They were having a one night stand, but they were talking about likes, etc. I mean, WTF right?! I know that happens a lot, but the way it was written, it feels like they're in a real relationship so it just pissed me off.
I've read a few reviews saying how great the novella is, so when it was my turn to read and it turned out like this, I was totally disappointed. This is supposed to be an erotica novel, right? But the love scene, gawwwd, it was like reading a normal scene, it wasn't hot at all. I've read novels mostly with sex coz that's what most new novels are right now, so it's a tough industry, you have to be creative with the writing style and it's written in 3rd person POV so I felt this huge barrier between me and the characters. I wasn't able to connect much with the characters.
So 1 star for the effort.

First Night!!!!!! I want more of the hot piece of ass that is Clay. Man alive that was HOT! I love his dirty filthy mouth. And yes, we have got more! Not one, but two novels to follow!
Julia & Clay are evenly matched, Julia the feisty bartender with the red hair, going after what she wants and taking it! Used to handling people in the bar, Clay the Fit, drop dead gorgeous negotiator handling people at work. Now they get to handle each other and boy do they just!
Not one for hanging around, this is straight get to it, and get your rocks off! Just one night right?

I thought this was the perfect introduction to the Seductive Nights series. I love Clay and Julia's first meeting, it was flirty and fun! They have an instant connection and electric chemistry.
This was a well rounded novella that really gave me a good idea about who Julia and Clay are. There are brief hints about their past that make me extremely intrigued and I definitely want to know more.
If you’re going to jump into something, this is the way to do it because holy WOW Clay has a way with words (hello dirty talker!). He is confident and extremely sexy. I really liked Julia a lot, she’s a strong woman and I love her feistiness. They were so playful together, it was awesome! The hot and steamy sexy times in this story really packed a punch that’s for sure.
I love that we see characters from other books in this story (and almost every Lauren Blakely book if not all of them). The characters always intertwine so well and I get extra happy when I see a character I know.
I love how it ended, with closure but leaving you wanting more and I think it creates a nice transition into the first book, Night after Night. I’m definitely ready for more Clay and Julia!!!

I was searching Amazon for something new to read when I came across this. I figured since it was a novella and a prequel to the main story it would give me the chance to sample the writing and characters before committing to the whole story.
This delivered exactly what it promised. Two characters with strong personalities and strong opinions on what they like in the bedroom...or back room of the bar in this case. What makes this a little bit different than some others I have read in the genre is that both Julia and Clay have alpha personalities. It seriously can get annoying when one of the characters is always more dominant than the other. It makes the relationship seem less than equal in my eyes. And let's be honest, it makes the bedroom scenes dull and repetitive after a while.
I won't go in to detail as this story was short. It gave the perfect amount of teasing to peak my interest in reading the full length story of Julia and Clay. I have a couple of the other novella's in the series downloaded so I look forward to reading them before I take on the full length series.

Exactly, and that's what makes this story PERFECT! They meet. They click. BOOM!
I loved Julia because she was confident in herself, and she knew exactly what she wanted in a man. I loved Clay because he knew what he wanted in a woman. I also loved him because he had a wonderfully filthy mouth, and dirty talkers are my weakness. I didn't want this one to end, folks, and you won't want it to either.
Also, we get to glimpse into the futures of four of Ms. Blakley's other beloved couples, but you're not going to get any spoilers from me. You're going to have to trust me on this one. GET THIS BOOK!!

I give this a 4 1/2 star. Julia is a bartender with a lot of past baggage. Clay is a hot Dominate man living in New York visiting San Francisco. He goes to the bar where Julia works, Julia’s sister sent him to meet her sister. This book offers hot steamy sexy and a strong sexy alpha man that makes you want him to dominate you. First favorite comment was by Clay in the Bar:
“You listen to me, I’ll make you writhe and moan.”
I am so not a fan of cliff hangers, the book ends to quickly but that is a novella for you. I am totally loving Clay’s character and Julia seems like there is more to her then meets the eye. My last 2 favorite quotes were:
“You will feel me for days, Gorgeous”
“Is this what you wanted when you looked at me with those fuck-me eyes behind the bar?”
So the question is will Clay and Julia go their separate ways or will they find that ultimate love match? Next book Night after night uut April 16th according to the end of the book!

I fucking loved this!
Parden the swearing but I felt that my reaction for this book required it. I just can't get over how much I loved it. One kick ass heroine and one super sexy, hot, whatever hero.
One night of passion.
Fireworks, the whole szzzebang!!! Luckily, this is in two parts bc i really NEDD a sequel to FIRST NiGHT!!! Like really need it. Cus it has been a long time a book (novella) has captivated me like this. The genre is erotica. And it was HOT!!!

Another quick read. Tells the story of the beginning of the relationship in Seductive Nights #1
Short. Sharp. Shagging. Smuttertainment.
Not much story, but then it is only an intro. Decided on 4 Stars on Smuttertainment value.
Hoping the first book proper will give us more A to B and a little character development.

A great start to this series. First night sets the scene for Julia Bell, renowned bartender at Cubic Z, The red haired beauty is constantly hit on, but has abstained from any horizontal action since a bitter break up a year ago. She is feisty, fearless and knows what she wants in a potential hook up..and that's all she has space for in her current life.
New York Entertainment Lawyer Clay Nichols has just completed a negotiation in San Francisco, and finds himself checking out Cubic Z, not only for the R & R, but also because his friend, McKenna's sister, works there.
On meeting, their attraction was instantaneous, their banter was overtly sexual, and it wasn't long before their physical connection.
I look forward to Night after Night, where I hope we get to see this one night hookup grow..
