Sherry Ruth Anderson, Ph.D. is a writer and speaker who started delving into the matter of growing old by the time she turned fifty. In her forties, settled in Northern California, she was writing about questions that wouldn't go away. Her latest book, also with questions at the core, is Ripening Time: Inside Stories for Aging with Grace (Changemakers Books, 2013). And there's a short film A Woman's Descent to the Sacred available through You Tube. Since 2000, she has also been a teacher of inner work that is, as you might have guessed, devoted to asking deep questions (the Diamond Approach to Spiritual Development®). Written by a 69 year old (my age) who was looking ahead to her potential in society over the next twenty years. Interesting and thought-provoking, but I am not sure how well her ideas travel from California (where I have lived) to UK. I resisted saying “Come on! Get over yourself!!”, because I think there was quite a lot for me to learn!
Very well written. Helps frame the questions about aging, while naming the lies and myths our society puts forward. This is a bold read that challenges our thinking, while empowering us to reach our fullest potential
We read this as a basis for topics in the writers group I belong to. It wasn't my "cup of tea". Most of the group really liked it though. There were some sections that resonated with me but for the most part I was not impressed
