Rate this book
This is not the actual book StrengthsFinder 2.0 by Tom Rath. Do not buy this summary & analysis if you are looking for a full copy of this impactful book, which can be found back on the Amazon search page.

Instead, we have already read StrengthsFinder 2.0 and pulled out some of the key take-away points and insights to give you a comprehensive chapter-by-chapter summary & review . In doing so, unfortunately we do not have the space to include all of the many important ideas and anecdotes found in StrengthsFinder 2.0 . To get it all, you should first order the full book. Packaged together in an engaging and easily digestible format, this concise summary & analysis works best as an unofficial guide or companion to read alongside the book.

Whether it is a revolutionary insight or an obvious observation, what StrengthsFinder2.0 says makes a lot of sense. Too much time and effort is being spent on making up for our deficiencies. If you think about it, it doesn’t make sense to expend a huge effort to be good at something for which we have no natural talent. It is really amazing how our culture places so much emphasis on working on our weaknesses when, at best, we will only be able to be adequate in those areas no matter how much we try. Therefore, the mind-blowing, eye-opening conclusion author Tom Rath comes up with is that we should work on and develop our strengths. That way we will be much more efficient with our time and go much further, much faster.

Rath recognizes that even people with similar talents might actually have them in different forms. Thus, he has tailored StrengthsFinder2.0 to help people determine their talents in a fit-for-purpose fashion.

The teacher Scott Crabtree from Happy Brain Science encourages you to think about strengths and weaknesses in advance of the first class. How do you feel about using strengths vs. fixing weaknesses - whether yours or a colleagues' -- at work?"

This was a great book that made me feel MUCH better about myself! I discovered my stengths (which I mostly already suspected) and learned that instead of going through life with my head hanging down and dreading reviews where I am told to fix my weaknesses (leadership), that instead I should build upon my strengths.

I took the assessment press.gallup.com/code/sf2 and got a great report out but it only included my top three strengths. It costs $69 to get the other strengths and the report. I want to get the full report because my strengths may have changed and these may play into my choice of retirement careers & hobbies.

The actual reading of the book was very easy and made you quickly rethink about yourself. However, the book was not very detailed. I did not get a chance to take the online quiz though, so I did not really get the full experience.

This was a great book. Everyone at my company has read it and use the profile in dealing with each other.

This book was assigned and mandatory when I started a new job at a new company. The company uses this to decide how/if employees will fit on a team. There is an online assessment readers take at the end, and I found my assessment to be quite accurate! Fast read, and will definitely show you what your strengths are. I was skeptical, but it really proved me wrong.
