one of the best writing books I have read. So many books for writers are filled with the same information, presented in the same way - this one does it a little differently and I found I could connect with it much easier as a result.

An excellent analysis of plotting with good examples and good discussion. I found this book very approachable and useful even as a writer who is familiar with plot. Rasley doesn't talk formula, she talks about what makes a story and how to identify and refine that in your work.

If I had to give writing advice it would be this: One, go write. Two, read books. Three, read this book. Repeat steps one and two until you have a thing ready to edit into oblivion.

Easy to understand, smart, and insightful. Can't recommend it enough!

This is a good caft book. I took a writing class with her before and I just love how she lays out the information. However, the typos in this book are distracting at times, hence my 4 stars instead of a 5 star.
