After a stranger assaults flight attendant Persy Mire, she does not report the crime until the evidence has vanished. When her attacker subsequently stalks her, she turns to hypnotherapy. Regressing to a past life in 1868 New Orleans, Persy endures a miserable existence as Persephone, a beautiful devoted daughter given in marriage to the elitist leader of a white supremacist society.
When Persephone’s mixed-race heritage comes to light, she fights to survive in the swamps against her husband’s cronies, who seek to force her into the mouths of gators. But little do they know that Persephone’s ancestry includes a powerful spiritual dimension, and her mystical kin have had enough of their descendant’s mistreatment.
As Persephone gains strength, so too does Persy. Separated by time but linked through spirit, the two women battle to rise above their circumstances in the hope of becoming whole.
This was a great book. I read the book in one night. I couldn’t put it down. The writer does such a good job writing you want to know what happens to the main characters.
Amazing read! A real page turner! Love this author and how she brings each character to life with her intriguing storyline. Love this book! Keep em' coming!
