The Neighbor 4-6 [Box Set]: Lust in the Suburbs

Rate this book
These three episodes conclude the stunning and intriguing erotic series, The Neighbor

Fans of Abby Weeks know not to expect the expected. In an often underrated genre, she has carved out a niche for her honest and provocative explorations of female sexuality and desire. These stories often take her where few other writers are willing to go.

The second half of this series delves into classic erotica themes such as voyeurism, public display, partner swapping and the intimate pleasure that comes from being watched and humiliated. It is a story that draws on many of the author's own personal fantasies as well as real life experiences.

If you want to get deep into the heart of a real woman's active sexual imagination, this collection of stories is an excellent start.

Hi, my name is Abby. I hope you enjoy my exciting new romance and erotica stories.

I love stories about strong, female protagonists that give you a good character arc and background to the action as well as providing the steamy details of what they get up to. I am particularly attracted to themes like wife-swapping, voyeurism, exhibitionism, and public and group encounters.

I am thirty-years-old and live in the beautiful forests of rural Ontario, Canada, with my two dogs.

I hope you enjoy my stories. You are always welcome to contact me at: abby@type-writer.net

Looking at books 1-6 as a whole, I would give it 5 stars. Books 4-6 explain so much about 1-3. You almost have to reread the first 3 books to fully understand everything that is going on.

Books 4-6 are a lot darker than 1-3. Janey becomes a slave (sex slave) to her husband. She is treated cruelly not just by him but Suzy as well. She is forced to wear a collar around her neck with a leash, she gets gang bang and everything else.

One might wonder why she is still with her husband after the way he treats her because it is clear that he doesn't love her. You have to wonder if he ever did love her. But she's a victim. And like any abused person you just want to please the abuser. You want to make them happy and pleased with you so you will do what they tell you to do no matter the cost. And that's exactly what happens here with Janey. As the books progressed things get worse.

After the scene in the woods, Janey is first made to give every guy there a blow job. She takes it a step farther and opens herself up to them-thinking that this will please her husband. Instead Ben and Suzy (who is also there....of course) treat her like she is a slut. Is she? Technically-but again she's the victim here. She wants her husband back any way she can get him and if this makes him happy she will do it. But it doesn't make him happy and so he punishes her and leaves her in the middle of no where with hardly any clothes on. She makes it back to Luke's house and he tells her to leave-trying to help her but it's too late.

You see what a witch Suzy is. She really calls the shots. She breaks Janey down so that she is nothing and Ben just stands by her and agrees. So at this point, Janey starts to believe that she is nothing and she has no where to go (or so she thinks) and so she is forced to be a prisoner.

You see some insight into Suzy. You thin they are friends-but no. Suzy, knows exactly what is going on. She is the slut here. She likes having sex and likes having sex with all kinds of people-men or women. She likes doing whatever her husband and Ben tell her to do.

I started out liking Luke-but he just stands by and does nothing and let Suzy have her way, so I started to dislike him at the end and he deserved the same ending as Suzy and Ben.

In Book Six there is hope. And Henry and Malcolm come to the rescue. You'll have to read the devious plan that Henry created to watch Ben and to keep an eye on Janey-I won't spoil that but Henry does talk about an organization called "The Neighbor" Where men let other men have sex with their wives, beat them, and pretty much do whatever they want with them. Ben and Luke are trying to get into this organization so they have submitted their women to do whatever other men want in order to get in.

But knowing what the organization is called you have to now wonder. The books are called: The Neighbor. Is this referring to Henry? Or the Organization? It makes you think.

I enjoyed the ending. And then Janey lives happily ever after with Henry and Malcolm but I would have liked to have read maybe another scene with the three of them. I really liked the one in the 3rd book.

Abby tends to have the same theme in her books but always the woman is the victim. It would be interesting if maybe she switched it up and make a guy the victim. It happens-it's not as common but it does happen.

Great books, ones that I will read again and again. If you are looking for a fluff book then look elsewhere. This book is so much more than just sappy sex scenes. This book will make you think and question everything and think some more. The fact that there are some awesome sex scenes is a bonus. This book is not for the faint of heart. Some of the scenarios made me cringed but as a whole it was great.

Did the same person write this book?!!!! I never thought I would give an author a 1 rating...ever!!! I didn't like the way this book set started off. At the end of set 1-3 Janey was secure in who she was and in what she was doing. She was the writer of her own story. She chose to do what she was doing. She really didn't need Ben's approval. Now the beginning of set 4-6 she was insecure and looking for validation from Ben. It was all dependent on his attention. Then she stated at the beginning that she was forced into these actions, when you were thinking about your actions and choosing to do them!!! It made no sense to me. She was always questioning herself. I had the idea from the first set that she was drawing out things that were already inside of her and removing the mask that she was wearing, but this set was about her claiming that all the actions that she took was turning her into a totally new person.

I was confused that she didn't know her husband at all!!! How could she miss these signs. What was up with the beating that he gave her?!!! And when the police asked what happened Janey did not want to tell what Ben did!!!! She now has beaten wife syndrome!!??? She couldn't admit maybe to herself that Ben beat her, even after she said she couldn't trust him. Then she has the perceptions that he is entitled to misuse and mistreat her because she is his wife. Crazy!!!

What happened with her relationship with Henry? You really don't hear anything about him until she ends up in the hospital. Why did she have the idea that she was treating Henry like a dirty old pervert? I had the idea that she really liked him and respected him. Why did she stop entertaining him?

Half way through the book I believe Janey had lost her mind!!!! Like I stated before, she now realizes that she can't trust Ben!!?? But she has the delusion that since he is her husband he has free reign to her. While Ben was punishing her by spanking, her mind was taking her back to the pain and humiliation of the punishment she received from her father when he spanked her when she was younger and she somehow let it excite her sexually. And when she told Ben she wanted him to have sex with her at that time she had to the thought that she was entitled to have sex with him. It seemed like she wanted to do a dominant/submissive type of relationship. That one is hard to explain. She is out of control!!!

Then Suzy was allowed to mistreat and misuse her too!!! Too much. This story took wrong turns all the way towards the end. I loved the first set but this just went to the depths of confusion. I would not recommend this to anyone. Again my question is, "Did the same person write this book"?

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
OK kids...this is a 3.5 star rating which will round up to 4 stars...but seriously...it just got to be way too too much for me in parts.
I was intrigued and found the first 3 books to be sexy, steamy and a great bedtime story fantasy type read. These 3 last sections went in a completely different...really ugly dark direction and I have not hated a male character this intensely in a long time. Janey's husband Ben needed to be strung up by his balls and left in agony for what he did to his wife...and for what? All in the name of success and achieving some status so he could join an exclusive club for disgusting sadistic horny old men. I was so upset with the treatment Janey received...from a beating that put her in the hospital to being abused and degraded by a multitude of partners, that I only finished reading so I could hopefully get to an HEA. And I'm here to tell you that YES...if you can stomach all the horrible things that go on in this book there is a really awesome conclusion to this story that will surprise and delight. At least it did for me =)

**** 3.5 **** "being neighborly takes on a whole new meaning" stars

I received a copy from the author in exchange for my honest review, so here it is. Janey is wondering what she can do to save her marriage. Ben is still spending time with Suzy, his secretary. Janey will go through a lot of feeling and thought before she can get help. And her neighbor Henry is there to help her more than she knows. When Ben and Luke, Suzy's husband, have a deal, Janey wonders what deal and how does it affect her. Suzy and Luke are swingers and Ben wants to join in but he has to bring Janey. Ben just wants to control Janey and make her do what he wants. Can Janey get away from Ben and turn her life around? Will Henry be there to help her again? The story at times would drag and I wanted to reach in and shake Janey to get the hell out. But the ending was perfect. If you don't mind, men whoring out their wives, group sex, and different sexual situations, then read The Neighbor, there are six parts to it. I really enjoyed it and you will too.

*LONG RANT BELOW* *APOLOGIES FOR ANY FOUL LANGUAGE*
MAJOR SPOILERS THROUGHOUT:
I read the first box set/first three books in this series a few years ago but never got around to reading the second half of the series. I enjoyed the first half of the even though some things in it made me slightly uncomfortable. I had some extra time and decided to read the second half of the series.
The last book ended with Janey getting back at Ben by sleeping with Malcolm and Henry watched. I thought that this series would be about Janey getting back at her husband for cheating on her and that she would eventually leave the piece of shit.
This box set started out completely different. Ben got progressively worse. I mean the Luke thing was completely crazy and had me going wtf?! I stuck around then because I wanted to see how much Janey was going to put up with from Ben. Then, the son of a bitch beats her up to the point of her being put in the HOSPITAL. Even then, Janey decides that she should still work on her marriage. I was horrified but for some STUPID reason, I kept reading.
Janey goes to Ben's office to confront him and to "let him apologize" for beating her. Shocking me even further, he says that she deserved it and that since he is going to become partner, he is going to "put her on a leash". To be honest, I think I continued to read on from there because I was too stunned to do anything else.
He then proceeds to bend Janey over the desk and attempts to rape her. Janey argues that she was just in the hospital and if she went back asking for a rape kit, Ben would be arrested. Ben thinks about this and decides that a "punishment" is in order. He then spanks Janey. At this point, I was floored and my jaw was on the ground.
What shocked me even further, was the fact that Janey slips into what a submissive calls subspace and gets turned on by the vicious spanking that is occurring. Mind you, she is crying the whole time this is occurring and Janey eventually begs him to stop. After Ben does, she then turns around tells him to "take her".
I gave up at this point. There is NO WAY I could continue to read that. I am sorry that I picked this book up and I am even sorrier that I will never get that time back. I am HORRIFIED by this book and I can't begin to imagine how Janey could be okay with that, let alone get turned on by it. This book was not for me and this author as well. I am sorry if you enjoyed this book but I definitely did not.

Well. I don't know where to start. You would think that the name of this series is what the books are focused on, but it's not. Expect the unexpected. At the beginning yes, it's all about the neighbor, but towards the end you realized that its an undercover erotic social group. Janey's goes to this function to celebrate her husband's accomplishments towards being a potential partner. By the end of the day she learns that her husband is not the man who she married 5 years ago. But she still loves him and want their marriage to work and is welling to do what she has to, to make it work. Only she didn't expect the voyeurism, partner swap, put her on public display and the humiliation. I was like why is Ben, her husband treating her like he has never had love for his "WIFE". He had no care in the world for her. I wanted to stop reading this book, but was curious as to how Abby Weeks was gonna end this. And I was very intrigued and amazed. This book has kink in it for days. You will be surprised. You will be in suspense. Great read.

How to explain

This review is for the entire six book set because you must read the whole thing to understand. Having been through an unfaithful marriage, books 1-3 were hard to read. Each one was dead on. While not actually parading before a window naked, or "visiting" the neighbor, all the thoughts and feelings Jayne goes through are real.

However, at the middle of book 4, I nearly gave up. When Janey goes back to Ben it was too much for me to accept. But I had invested the time on the first three, so I plowed on and was rewarded.

Keep reading. You'll be glad you did.

Amazing author, sex scenes are hot, hot, hot....even if they are pretty twisted. Such an interesting story line, so different from every other erotic or romance book out there. The true sign of a great author is when you feel everything the heroine feels and can't guess where the story is leading. This is one of those books. It's not for the squeamish though. If you are looking for a sweet romance, this is NOT it. Very dark, erotica, abuse sexual, physical and mental but heroine gets her revenge in the end. I can't say enough about this author and this series.

This was a good story, but it seemed to have an overabundance of errors from little things like using if when the word should be is to mixing up the character's names. Those types of errors drive me crazy. For me, when I run across an error it completely ruins the flow of the story. It seems like people don't bother to proofread any more. As long as spell checker is happy they assume that their work is ready for publication. :(

What a let down! The first set started as a nice discovery of her own sexuality by a lonely wife, was advertised as such with mention of exhibitionism and consensual public display. Nothing hinted at a story with such an abusive husband and dubious consent. It's almost as if the two sets are not parts of the same story, they definitely don't follow the same storyline... It wasn't what I was looking for, I almost dnf this book, skipping most of it...

This book gets three stars because it was steamy sexy hotttttt. However, it was just so outside the box that I couldn't relate to any of the characters. The asshat husband, Ben. Janey being so "...she had no idea what was happening...." over and over. Get a freakin' clue.... BUT...I did enjoy the fact that they explored different aspects of sex that most books shy away from.

I didn't like the way that the book started. Janey was insecure and easy to overpower. She was so different in books 1-3. She was a take charge kind of woman and that was gone at the beginning of this bundle.
I did like the way that the story ended but I was disappointed in the lack of self-respect she had for herself and the way she was so easy to control.

The Neighbor

It was interesting to see what extents some people will go thru when their neglected. Janey was put thru hell and back. Husband was true sadist, and got what he deserved. Never heard of the neighbor origination.

Love it.

I just loved it. Very good read. Caricatures are well established and and the way the story line pulls you in you can't stop reading till you come to the end. I want to read more about what happens on their trip. Please continue the series.
