In Twisted Truth Dr. Christine McMorrow finds herself in a situation mirroring many her clients, the horror of being helpless and struggling to survive the power and control of a perpetrator, in this case, Stephen Scott who is driven to rape and kill women to bring his twisted truth to the world. What makes Twisted Truth unique is that Christie McMorrow knows that she will have to fight for her life with her psychological training and skill, her knowledge of the motivations and behaviors of the criminally insane. That is her only defense as she is tied, wounded and hidden where no one would think to look for her. Outwitting her tormentor is her only hope for survival.
Good concept, but very very slow read. Getting to the end was excruciating. Unnecessary details that were meant to build suspense, buy only made the story painfully drag.
I can't believe I got thru this book, the content is not something I want to read or even watch as a movie. It's more crime then suspense novel; which makes it somewhat predictable. It was well written, the characters were developed. I don't think I'd recommend it though.
One of the best psychological thrillers I've ever read. Compelling, creative and just plain scary. Delves deep into the twisted mind of a psychopath with an eerie ease. I highly recommend reading this book with doors locked and the lights on
Very slow read - at times I wasn't sure it was going anywhere!
Ended on a massive cliffhanger which sadly made nothing to persuade me to buy the next book - only angered me as I had given my time to reading, hoping the story was getting somewhere to just have the pleasure of conclusion snatched away.
