HAVEN KINCAID said goodbye to a normal life the moment she set foot inside the Dome. The underground complex is a sanctuary for others like her—gifted individuals who can create and absorb the powerful energies that bind the very fabric of our existence. Now, a year later, she wants nothing more than to create a new “normal” by spending time with the ones she loves. Yet when a vicious enemy arrives and infects everyone inside the Dome with a deadly virus, Haven is forced to set out on a dangerous journey to find the cure.
COLTON ROSS has finally found a place he belongs. Life at the Dome—and with Haven—is better than ever. After he is infected with a virus that strips him of his ability, Colton must fight to protect his friends from a deadly villainess whose power far exceeds anything he has ever imagined. She will not stop until she finds Haven, even if it means the destruction of each and every person in the Dome.
Furiously fast-paced and exciting this sensational sequel is a gripping read!
A P Kensey’s novel Fade is an action-packed comic book style adventure for the young adult/ teen reader, reminiscent of ‘Artemis Fowl’ and ‘X-Men’. Swept off on a thrilling journey that’s highly imaginative and compelling, I was greatly impressed by this brilliant book which I felt was much better than AP Kensey’s debut. The detailed narrative contained a lot more depth and substance, with the extraordinary world-building a concoction of wonder and enchantment. FADE is an action-packed fantasy adventure that continues the story of two young people struggling for survival in a dangerous world, wrought with nail-biting intensity and shocking revelations.
Contained within… · Spunky, likeable characters whose bravery and boldness is refreshing · Extraordinary superpowers and abilities to rival any MARVEL creation or classic superhero! · A fantastic fantasy world of uniqueness and innovative ideas · Exhilarating drama and non-stop action that kept me on the edge of my seat · In the vein of ‘Alex Rider’ or ‘Doctor Who’ – where heroes embark on perilous quests/ undertakings to help protect humanity from evil
If all of the above appeals to you then I highly recommend this explosive, astonishing story! Left feeling a bit deflated and somewhat disappointed by book 1, I was unsure of whether this series would improve as the plot thickened and the author expanded the tale. I was therefore pleasantly surprised to encounter a multi-layered profundity to the story, as the characters grew and developed in this scintillating second instalment. I would advise that you ‘stick with it’ as book 2 certainly improves and enlarges upon the slightly simplistic (basic) storyline as encountered in BLOOM.
As a middle-grade/ tween novel this trilogy is certainly a worthwhile read and one that will keep you entertained for many hours. As a fantasy tale it is clever and interesting, with many elements of brilliance amid the drama as to keep your attention firmly fixed to the pages. I would rate book 2 as 3.5 / 4 stars!
*I would like to thank the author for providing me with an e-copy of her novel to read and review. *
This is a great sci fy series. There is no sexual situations which was awesome. There were happy couples but you could let your teenager read it. The only thing I didn't particularly love was that Haven and Colton spent most of the book apart, but most second books in a trilogy are like that.
Book 2 in the Bloom Series outdid #1 in my opinion. Loved the way Nathaniel saved the day so to speak. Can't wait to start book 3. Glad it's waiting on my Kindle for me to read.
