I've been a writer, one way or another, all my life. Before I could read, I made up poems and my mom wrote them down for me. In elementary school, my teachers almost always let me write poems or stories instead of requiring me to do art projects. Always, I dreamed of becoming a published writer...and that dream came true! I write novels about sexy, powerful men and independent-minded women, and what happens when they find each other and fall in love. My books are sexy and romantic, and they've very often full of romantic suspense. I write the kinds of books I love to read, and I hope that makes my readers happy.

Trigger alert: sexual assault.

H/h’s “meet cute” is when lawyer hero rescues the waitress heroine from a drunk party guest who is trying to rape her. He escorts her to her rundown Brooklyn apartment and they have a ONS. When heroine’s gay roommate shows up, hero thinks heroine cheated on a lover and storms out before getting any explanations.

Three months later hero takes on a client who wants custody of his unborn grandbaby. His son died after being struck by a car and his girlfriend/roommate is pregnant and poor. Guess who the pregnant and poor roommate is?

You got it in one.

Heroine didn’t tell hero she was pregnant because she didn’t know his last name and she didn't try to discover it because she was angry he misjudged her.

Willaful used the word “roller coaster” to describe this story. And I think that’s accurate. The hero goes from rescuing knight to dark avenger (some great drama when they meet again – and the scene where he goes in with her for the paternity test is fascinating) to rescuing knight to crazy in love all within the space of several days. The H/h are angry one minute, in bed the next. Same with the opening – heroine is cowering in fear and then loved up and passionate with a guy with no last name within hours.

If you can get past the ups and downs of their temperaments, you’ll probably enjoy the ride. SM has the usual brothers-talking-about-the-mysteries-of-women conversations, but they don’t go on too long, thank goodness.

*climbs on soap box* So tired of bromances in my romances! Just stop authors. Especially if it’s used to put women down/show we’re irrational. I don’t mind heroes having those kinds of thoughts when they are in the grip of strong emotions, but when the bystanders spout this casual misogyny in the interest of humor, I get irritated.

H is an International Man of Mystery that leaps to conclusions like a lemming from a bridge. Match made in HP as the heroine does as well. Leap that is.

Caleb Wilde, hotshot lawyer, is attending a party where he meets Sage a waitress-actress. When he witness Sage being sexually harassed he runs to her rescue, takes her home and ends up having a one night stand with her.

When he wakes up and finds another man in her apartment (David) he believes Sage is a cheater and he goes back home. They reunite when David's father and Caleb's client claims Sage is pregnant with his now dead son's baby.

I highly enjoyed this book. Caleb is handsome, loyal, fierce, and an extremely decent hero. Sage was a real lady, with lots of love to give, a real backbone and intelligence every heroine should have. I loved her so much! I smiled every time she calls Caleb her "Sir Knight" and every time he calls her sweetheart.

The angst scenes were intense and so were the romantic scenes. Caleb and Sage are a perfect match: sexy, exciting and romantic!!

This was really funny!
The hero and the heroine have a ONS. The morning after the hero finds a man in her apartment and he thinks he's the heroine's lover, so he leaves without a word (and without even telling her his name)
He was going to ask her to live with him, really!
So he's hurt and disappointed because he thinks she's not the girl he thought she was.
After some month he meets a client who wants to get custody of his dead son's grandchild. The child is not yet born and the woman who's pregnant refuses to give him custody of her son.
The woman is the heroine, so the hero plans his revenge with the woman he thinks deceived him.
Since he is a SM hero, even having a good career as an attorney, he's unbelievably dense, and can't see that maybe the child is his.
The heroine can't understand why he is angry with her, since it's him who left her house without a word.
She also tells him the child is not om's but denies that it's the hero's, having seen he's angry and resentful with her.
She accept to have a DNA test to prove the child is not om's but when the moment comes to have this test, the hero prevents her because he's afraid that it could damage the child.
Even believing the worst of her he can't help feeling protective and eventually he realizes that the child is his.
Then he proposes and she refuses.
But the story is already solved because as soon as he understand he misjudged her badly, and om was actually her gay friend who was living with her, he's determined to get his girl.
The book was cute and the hero was cute.
I think he was celibate during their separation because he wasn't a manho anyway and he was besotted with her since the beginning. He was really shattered by the fact she had a lover and slept around (she didn't).
There's much humor and funny banter here, as usually in most of SM books.
After his first mistake the hero was quite good- and he was not so bad with her even when he thougth she was a gold-digger.
There's the usual male party of very dense men ( in this case 3 brothers) who's entertaining because- really -this author makes fun of men and their deficiencies in coping with feelings in a very nice way.
I recommend it for a light and quick reading.

My feelings about this book went up and down like a rollercoaster. We started on the downward slope with a lot of pet peeves -- not calling the cops on a would-be rapist, unprotected sex -- and then went up up up into a angsty area, culminating at the peak in a classic, yet original Sandra Marton being-a-romance-hero-against-his-will moment which had me ready to forgive all. But then it was mostly downhill from there, as the juicy stuff ended and the bickering began, with a replay of many other Marton books I've enjoyed. I'll give a decent grade for the big moment and some good snappy dialogue.

A book that totally lacked a story. Hero/Heroine fall in bed together, hero thinks she is involved with someone, acts like an ass, broods for months and then kind of learns she is expecting. Confusion is cleared, baby is his, they look at each other and clothes just melt. Honestly, they only had sex in the book and it was such a typical Marton, that is all I have to say.

It was an ok read really. And even though the guy was an ass at some point, he was comparatively less of an ass than most heroes. And less cynic as well. I guess Caleb is one Wilde brother who believed in love and commitment more than the others!

Like the previous book, there's an insta-lust going here, and they jumped to bed immediately. And because of some misunderstanding, they went their separate ways without knowing more about each other. And like most of the HP stories, the heroine ended up pregnant. And from there, we got to see more of Caleb and Sage - fighting, making love, and then fighting again, which I pretty much devoured. What can I say? I'm a sucker for a couple who always fight because it shows passion, and of course, there's groveling! Which wasn't disappointing. And again, my complaint was the fact that it was too short and there's no epilogue!

Sandra Marton has her original blend of romance elements that you can find in all her books : quirky humor, witty banter, uncontrollable attraction, irrepressible emotions, lots of inner dialogues, an arrogant but tender hero and a feisty heroine.
Caleb Wilde may be ruthless and a little arrogant for his own good but he is also tender and caring. He may act foolish. A lot. But that's because he is in love and doesn't know it yet.
Sage may be delicate but she is also feisty and independent. She stands up for herself and refuses Caleb's high handedness.
This is what I call a perfect match !!

I found some of this novel awfully bland but what ticked me off the most was it was incomplete or felt incomplete to me. I know it's a series but it should have "finished" with these characters in a major way. I thought Caleb was a bit of an idiot at times but I loved feisty Sage! I just wanted more and the author didn't give it, unfortunately.

Wow ... Loving the Wilde Brothers series. Who doesn't want a guy that will come to a girl's rescue. Loved the speaker call conversation between the brothers. And loved that he realized that Sage needed some alone time with just the two of them. And the proposal o.k. It was different but to cute. Can't wait for Travis Wilde's story ...

Warning do not start to read this book if you have any plans scheduled ,it is just too good to put down.

Sandra Marton has done it again ! This book was so,so,so very good I could not put it down and read it in one sitting !

Yes ladies the character of Caleb Wilde was absolutely tantalizing temping and deliciously sexy. He was ruthless but in that it-makes-him-irresistible kind of way.

The author totally blew me away with the fabulous plot, yes you will agree that the one night with a little present in the works has been done before but not with this much emotion or intensity. The author completely knocked me for a six with the little twists and turns.

And the "love scenes" rocked, very nicely done indeed Sandra.

I loved how determined Caleb was and a real go getter his ruthless attitude just made him so much more sexy. I also loved how the author slowly let the reasons and turmoil's of Sage unfold.

The author's characterization was spot on and she took me on a journey of just pure romance at it 's best. After reading I was left with that "I need a few moments to come back down to earth" feeling which is prove that the book was a perfect score.

Mrs Marton has again proved she is one of the very best authors of our time.

I look forward to the next read Sandra, keep them coming !

Once again (as I always am) I was pulled into this book The Ruthless Caleb Wilde, and I felt like I knew the characters. Caleb Wilde is at a party he doesn't want to be at, he see a man forcing himself on a waitress and no one helping so he steps in and helps. He then helps her get home and decides that he shouldn't leave her alone he lets her know he just wants to make sure she is okay, they do end up spending the night together and in the morning all heck breaks loose (don't want to give the story away) Caleb goes back to Texas. The family knows something is not right but Caleb won't talk, Travis asks him to help a client out in New York and Caleb and Sage are reunited (in a way), and Caleb is not leaving her a second time.

Sandra made these characters so real to me that I felt all the ups the downs, and my heart broke in a few scenes, and I was ready to strangle Caleb in a few more for jumping to conclusions and then she brings you the happy ending you weren't to sure was coming.

I could not put this book down had to read late into the night to finish it, now I am impatiently waiting for April when The Merciless Travis Wilde is released.

The story of Sage and Caleb is a surprisingly sweet tale of love at first sight followed by misunderstandings and complications. Their one night stand ended abruptly with the arrival of the other man in Sage’s life, her roommate David. Months later, Caleb has a chance to finally do something to get her out of his mind.
The battle over the paternity of Sage’s baby becomes a catalyst that brings the two erstwhile lovers back together. Caleb, the tough alpha male, is disarmed by the sweet innocence of the young woman he’d saved and then discarded in one night.
This is an enjoyable story about the older Wolfe brother, lawyer, former operative and logic-man. Sage is a spiky, vulnerable heart of gold girl doing it tough in NY. Together they are wonderfully right and deserving of their happy ending.

Bingung sih sebenarnya mau ngasih berapa, akhirnya memutuskan ngasih ratingnya segitu aja. Jujur, agak lupa juga nih alurnya gimana, cuma inget-inget sekilas doang, berhubung baca ini jg modal baca gratis di gramed (as usual, jiwa perhitungan dan oportunistisnya keluar hahaha) plus kayaknya ini cerita kurang berkesan, makanya gua lupa hehehe.

Ceritanya sih standar, khas harlequin gitu, serba kilat, yaah, kurang berkesan sih gua sama isinya, tp yah lumayan lah buat bacaan ringan gratisan :P

Review:

I’ve read a fair share of Harlequin Presents (it’s one of my biggest guilty pleasures) and there have been some utter disappointments and some really engaging and emotional reads. Fortunately, this book belongs to the latter, in the really positive side of the spectrum.

I liked most aspects of this story, here’s a few:

A big plus was that there was a decent amount of dialogue and actual conversations between the characters, not only describing their feelings for pages and pages. In addition, the dialogue was mostly quite interesting too, nothing too standard or general as is the case with too many Harlequin romances.

I really appreciated the actual chemistry between the characters. But, as always, love and desire (insta love) comes quite fast in Harlequins stories, blink and you might miss it, but here, although again not nearly enough time devoted for that for my liking, everything just clicked and was spot on with what I got to know and how I pictured the characters and how the story flowed. I didn’t doubt that Caleb and Sage were insanely attracted to each other and that love could blossom from this stable and strong chemistry.

I liked the hero and heroine, they weren’t your typical alpha male and nurturing poor female needing care, they actually had personalities, appealing ones at that. They had their moments but, overall, a strong and compatible pair that was entertaining, romantic, infuriating, emotional and perfect all at once.

The way they met was slightly cliché: the hot rich hero come to the rescue, but I liked that Sage didn’t go down easily and Caleb didn’t have to do everything by himself, she was a force to be reckoned with.

And as usual, what is a Harlequin without the big misunderstanding, and several in this case, BUT however corny, unlikely or silly I’ve always had a soft spot for them, mostly because of the amounts of angst that comes with it, in tolerable doses of course. The angst here I approve of.

Me no like, much:

Was I the only one that felt the David line of the story kind of felt short and too convenient? Would have liked to see and know more.

Characters:

Sage was sweet and tough, she held her own against all and fought for what she considered important to her. While still vulnerable and caught in diverse misfortunes, I admired her determination and independence. I especially liked how she stood up to Caleb and did it quite successfully, even though, he is the one who is supposed to be the hotshot attorney.

Caleb actually came across human and, thus, likable unlike many carbon copy alpha males. I liked how he showed his care, love and respect for Sage. He was able to let loose and not be this intimidating rich cold only-business kind of guy. I loved the conversations he had with his brothers.

Overall:

Definitely one of my favorite Harlequin Presents. It had all the good stuff that I usually expect only that it took those to another level. A quick and romantic read.

THE RUTHLESS CALEB WILDE by USA Today Bestselling Author Sandra Marton is a November 2012 release from Harlequin Presents. It is from the miniseries of The Wilde Brothers.

After spending a passionate night in New York with Sage Dalton, lawyer Caleb Wilde wakes up to find she had misled him. He is disillusioned and goes back home. But he is haunted by Sage and can’t forget her or the night they spent together.

He gets a new client who claimed that a pregnant woman is carrying his dead son’s baby. This wealthy client wants the sole custody of the child. But the woman is adamant that the baby’s father is not the wealthy man’s only son. Caleb decides to look into this matter. But he gets a shock when he finds who the woman is. And now the million-dollar question is, who is the father of this baby?

Will Caleb walk away from Sage a second time now?

THE RUTHLESS CALEB WILDE is a lively contemporary romance with a sexy, gorgeous hero you will swoon over and a strong heroine whom you’d love. Author Sandra Marton brought this sparkling tale of unexpected and chance encounters turning into red-hot passion. It is humour with steamy sensuality and heart tugging pathos. And the story is intensely emotional as well as very sensual. Highly entertaining and well worth reading

Oh.my.gosh! Couldn't put this book down!

In Book 2 of the Wilde Brother's mini-series we meet Caleb, hot-shot lawyer. He's at a party in NYC; bored, he happens to witness a waitress almost be attacked by a drunk. He rescues Sage and even tho he has everyone's best interests at heart to start with they do end up spending a long night together. He wakes up all WOW until he thinks that Sage's boyfriend has arrived home. He decks the new-comer, promptly leaves and basically goes into hibernation. Ten weeks later his brother gives him a new case to snap him back to reality and Sage tumbles back into his life, uh-oh, pregnant; who's baby is it?!?

I seriously couldn't put this book down. It's fast-paced, full of action, emotional, the works! I felt the characters as I grew to know them, for example and I quote "...he saw her anger drain away. She put her elbows on the table, leaned her forehead against her fists... tears rolled down her cheeks"... end of quote, by the time I reached this stage of the book I was almost crying with Sage.

Book 1 lays the foundations of the Wilde family, Book 2 The Ruthless Caleb Wilde rockets into outerspace in terms of drama and emotion and I can not wait to check out the Prequel to the Wilde Family Saga, The Prince of Pleasure.

This was a fairly short (or at least it felt that way), decent read. I think Marton does angst best, so I liked this one best in the beginning, while the hero was angry with the heroine because of his misconceptions. The story got a little boring once the main misconception was cleared up. I still basically liked the characters though and enjoyed the HEA, so overall I liked it.

Very cute romance. Perfect.

Hero and heroine are sweet. One or two places are laugh out loud funny.

The conversation over the phone the hero has with his brothers where he’s pretending he’s asking about some hypothetical friend when all along it’s about himself.

TRASH STORY. TRASH SERIES. Another for the 'worst book I ever read' pile. Can't believe all the 5 star reviews this series got.

This series reads like it was written by an adolescent female who decided she was going to try her hand at writing a romance series and so, for reference, she went and read some alpha male romance novels, after which she sat down to write and came up with a series featuring three alpha male brothers. But the alpha male thing fell flat because the brothers in this series are not really alpha males at all. She just tried to pass them off as such. What they are are filthy rich, extremely good looking guys (eye roll), with a bit, but not enough arrogance to truly pass as alpha. They all served their country in the army either as fighter pilots or some type of secret service agent (more eye roll). And let's not forget that they are all 6 feet 3 inches 'in their stockinged feet', played football in college, and their father is a four-star general in the army. Mind you, they're really nice, sensitive guys too (to satisfy those readers whose H MUST be perfect.) And of course these brothers all fall in insta-love with their h whom they sleep with within an hour or two of meeting them. By the next day, they are all like 'Oh she is so great. The best sex I ever had. I can't get her off my mind." GIVE ME A BREAK! The h too, falls in insta lust/love after, or in the midst of, a heated fight. One moment they're fighting and the next moment they're ripping each other's clothes off. So really and truly, these brothers are all man whores. I liked them because beneath everything else they are sweet. But they are man whores all the same. And their h? Well they are just whores. These stories have no substance. They are full of cliches that the author apparently thought sounded good. THEY WEREN'T!!! And worse yet, every time the H is met with some kind of opposition from the stupid, suddenly spoiled bitchy h, he is like "Oh honey, Oh sweetheart, Oh baby I'm so sorry. I didn't mean it that way. I didn't mean to hurt you." GAG! Those bitchy women turned what the author implies are alpha men, into wimpy little girls. They just made me roll my eyes a few hundred times and consider throwing my kindle across the room.

This second part, 'The Ruthless Caleb Wilde', is just as stupid and ridiculous as the first. Another wealthy, gorgeous, supposedly alpha type brother meets and sleeps with a woman he met only a couple of hours before. In this one she gets pregnant and he doesn't know about it because he acted like a jerk and left her after the sex. Months later he finds out about the pregnancy and there is some confusion surrounding it which they quickly solve. He sets about making arrangements for her to move to Texas with him. Suddenly she's griping that 'everything is happening too fast.' Really? And jumping into bed with a man you only just met wasn't moving too fast? Everything about this book was irritating. Disgustingly cliche. No character development. Weak plot. Irritating h. No real connection between the H and the h. Everything is sex. The reader is told that they love reach other but it's not felt. What more can I say? Not worth reading. I rate it less than one star.

Buku-buku berlabel harlequin biasanya sangat mudah ditebak.
