She’s a witch with no magic. He’s a shifter with no wolf. When enemies threaten both their families, they’re nothing but vulnerable. Until their love rewrites history.
Fiona Abbott has never been kissed. It's the story of her life. She never developed magic, went to college, still works in the family store, lives above it, and has never been on a date in her life.
So when her well-meaning cousins offer to magic her up a man, she tells one little lie. About a man so far out of her league, nobody believes it.
Liam Duke is over a decade older than her and one of the top stonemasons in Appalachia. He’s rich, gorgeous, and hasn’t looked at her twice. Worse, he’s kind, so he agrees to go on a date when she confesses.
They have nothing in common… Except he’s a shifter without a wolf and she’s a witch without magic, and their fake relationship doesn’t feel so fake.
When she starts moving things without touching them, and he starts hearing the voice of a wolf, they both think they’re going crazy.
With the enemy circling, a wolfless shifter and magicless witch may be the only ones who can save everyone they love. Especially each other.
Her Alpha Wolf is a steamy standalone story of fated mates, family, belonging, and magic featuring an age gap, fake relationship romance. It is the fifth and final book in the Witches & Abbott Coven series of connected feel-good, small-town paranormal romances with strong shifters, powerful witches, and guaranteed happily ever afters. If you’re looking for a swoony, gripping paranormal romance with a lot of heart, fall in love with the Abbott Coven Witches and Shifters today!
Fiona, the female lead, is the only one of her generation born into a family of witches but without magic. When her cousins are determined to set up and a date for her, she baulks and says she already has one.
Liam, the male lead, was born without an animal into a wolf shifter pack. He’s shocked to hear Fiona claim he’s her date, but he’s willing to oblige - he’s been interested since he met her but felt he was too old and uncouth for her…
As they spend time together, both feel like they really understand the other, being “disappointments” to their respective families. But there are threats to both his pack and her coven that both feel obliged to work towards eradicating…maybe they can make spaces for themselves?
This story is dual POV, well written, and contains the fantastic end to a debut story arc from this author. I have truly enjoyed the background plot that has been woven through these five stories (and prequel). I truly enjoyed the way the author wrapped up the main arc but has left threads trailing to start more stories! I ADORED both Fiona and Liam, and the way they were connected, both intrinsically and through lived experience. I empathised with the way they had both experienced being outcast, though in different ways. I enjoyed the relationship development and the care Liam gave Fiona’s inexperience, though I found many scenes awkward (maybe that’s a testament to good writing). I enjoyed Fiona’s dawning awareness of her position and her determination to change it. I enjoyed Liam’s confusion as he watched her change and his uncertainty about how he could also change. I enjoyed their intimate scenes. I enjoyed the integrated secondary characters and chuckled at the vagaries of family. I’m looking forward to where the author’s writing goes from here.

This is a well written age gap romance with strong characters in Fiona and Liam. The author brings an interesting story that had me glued to the pages with fated mates, witches and wolves and magic. She brings her story to life with her perfectly painted scenes and tells the story in the dual POV, delivering a terrific story.

While the storyline was good, it was not great. The potential for it to be more interesting was limited by the numerous amount of errors. There were many punctuation and spelling errors as well as incorrect words used that completely ruined sentences. In Chapter two, there was one of the where “we’re” need to be written instead of the verb “were” when Fiona referenced her dating Liam. Chapter three had a sentence about Liam’s family of wolves in which the line was “…here family’s, um, wolves.” This reader had to reread it to realize the writer most likely meant to choose the pronoun “your” instead of “…here.” The vast number of incomplete sentences also created distractions. I wanted to like both Fiona and Liam. Fiona certainly deserved her own story, too, and with such a strong character as Liam as her wolf. Her stone magic was enlightening - especially how it came about for Fiona. The soothing only by her wolf mate was genius! Poor wolfless Liam was so tender with Fiona even though he was lost as to what was going on with her. Liam and his rock collection made Fiona’s responses humorous at times. Then - WATCH OUT! The deed was done, in more ways than one,and Liam shifts! He’s challenged, too. The dire wolves come around. Then they are gone. So, where is Goldie? I really wanted to give this book five stars. That could not happen with so many mistakes that had me backtracking to understand what the author was trying to say. This was not a bad series to read. It had funny parts, sad parts, and everything in the middle.
Fiona Abbott has little experience. She hasn’t dated or kissed, so her cousins try to create a date for her, but she quickly tells them she is dating Liam Duke, a wolf shifter who has no wolf. To avoid embarrassing her, he is willing to take her on a date. But strange things begin to happen as she can now move things… with her mind? And she has other powers she doesn’t know how to manipulate. And he is hearing a wolf’s voice inside his head! Eventually, he is even able to shift into his wolf form to protect Fiona! What is happening to them? And can they protect their families when danger comes around? His wolf still has much to learn, being so new at this. But were they running out of time?
It was fascinating to me to see the author’s interpretation of Liam and his wolf. The wolf was very childlike despite its power. It left the reader wondering just how this confrontation would work as Liam’s wolf didn’t see much difference yet between playtime and a fight to the death. This is a new look at things and I enjoyed it.
I would suggest that you read the first 4 books in this series. You can read this book alone but the whole storyline starts in book 1. The fact that neither Liam or Fiona fit into their families was a unique look at these two characters. I liked how after 28 years Fiona finally stood up for herself and was then brave enough to follow through. Liam - what an awesome character. He was the perfect match for Fiona. I liked how he described rocks throughout the book. It really gave you a different look at how colors are viewed. This was a great read. With the drama, the loving and the wondering as to what would happen next.

I've been looking forward to this book for a while... the only reason I did not give it 5-stars instead of 4 was because of the age... not the age-gap, I had no issues with that. Liam kept acting as if Fiona was 18, not 28. By 28, age is just a number, being 10 or 12 years older does not matter at that point, but he kept acting like she was too young to have someone as old as him. It continued through most of the story, and I get that was was drove the story, but it was really annoying that he acted like she was a kid instead of well into adulthood.
I also didn't like how it was a "cliffhanger" to get you into Goldie's story. I was already planning to read it, but I don't like feeling like I have to.
This is book 5 in the Abbott Coven series and it's Fiona's story. She is a Witch who has never had magic and never been on a date, but when her cousin's offer to magic her a man she lies and says she is dating Liam. He is also a shifter with no wolf. He agrees to go out with her when she confesses. What started out fake gets real very quickly when she starts to move things without touching them and he starts to hear his wolf. I am so glad Fiona got her own book she has been a favorite since her sister's story in book 1. Read this whole series it is so good.

This book revealed a new aspect of the world that Piper has built and it was fantastic. We were able to see two characters grow into the shifter and witch they were meant to be, by helping each other grow as individuals and allowing their love to grow. Each book lets us explore more of the world and fall in love with more characters. This one ended on a cliffhanger that leaves me wanting more! I can't wait for the next book.

A man with no wolf and a woman with no magic. Families that want them near, but treats them like 3rd class citizens there to do their bidding. A lie that brings two people together for a time. Then there are dire wolves who are trying to steal witches in hopes of getting more magic and strength. The dire wolves have poison on their fangs and claws that can kill other werewolves. Fights are in the future between both types of wolves and the witches.

Part of a series but very very easy to read as a stand alone . When is a wolf not a wolf ? or a witch not a witch? Is age just a number or a barrier ? A well written tale that will keep you reading from start to finish with lots of twists to keep your interest and another book to come if this was to your tastes . ( I am off to find the earlier books as I enjoyed this one so much )
I really like this series, and Fiona and Liam's story does not disappoint! I really can't pick out a favorite; all of the stories so far have been unique, emotional, and seem to pull you right into the pages. This story is great, the whole series is great! You need to put this book and series on the TBR right away list!.

This was a very touching story about two people who have been disappointed by their lives and families. Fiona is a witch without powers. Liam is a wolf with out his wolf. I think that Fiona is very funny. Liam was so kind in the way he took care of Fiona. I loved the way they discover their love for each other.
Her Alpha Wolf is the story of a witch with no powers and a wolf-shifter without a wolf. It is a unique spin on the shifter/witch romance genre. There were funny parts and some sad moments within the text, too. Even though there was an age gap between the two main characters, Liam was caring and absolutely loving.
