Claimed by my Grumpy Professor

Rate this book
I can’t believe my totally hot professor just slammed his office door in my face.

He’s abrupt. He’s rude. I can’t stand him.
But I’ve always wanted what I can’t have.

He’s a gorgeous man, incredibly intelligent, and his ice-blue eyes are intoxicating.

So I kiss him one wild night.
And he kisses me back.

Neurons and hormones on fire as we work on our research together make denying ourselves almost unbearable.
Discovery by anyone at the university could ruin us both.

All logic and sense say I should resist him. But I just can’t…

The ending was not satisfying at all. The entire story was good up to that point.

The Heart Knows What it Wants -
Kayla didn’t know what all the fuss about her summer program mentor was until she laid eyes on him and felt like she had been zapped by an electric current. Jordan’s entire life was about his research, so relationships were the last thing on his mind, but everything changed after he met Kayla and realised he couldn’t get her out of his mind. Kayla and Jordan tried everything possible to maintain a professional relationship, it kept getting more difficult the more time they spent working together in close proximity.

Nevertheless, all their efforts went out the window when the sparks between them exploded into a night filled with unimaginable intense pleasures, which made them finally realise they could no longer keep their hands to themselves. Unfortunately, Kayla and Jordan knew their time together was limited, but fate had other ideas in store for them, as she was presented with a fantastic opportunity that gave them a chance at having the happiness they deserved.

The story was entertaining and I enjoyed reading it for the most part, but I was disappointed with the ending, as it felt like it ended on a cliffhanger. I will still be happy to recommend this book to any avid contemporary romance reader.

111-page novella | Dual POV | Forbidden Age Gap Romance

If you love a grumpy, broody professor and a sweet, determined research student—this one's for you. With a 22-year age gap (he’s 44, she’s 22), this novella delivers a soft, contemporary take on the forbidden romance trope.

Each chapter alternates POV between the MMC, Jordan, and the FMC, giving us a front-row seat to all the internal pining, hesitations, and risks they both weigh before giving in to their feelings.

This isn’t dark just mildly taboo—it’s sweet, soft, and slightly spicy. The spice is open door but not overly detailed, and mostly serves the emotional beats of the story.

What I loved:
✔️ The mutual yearning
✔️ Jordan’s POV (seriously, he was the highlight!)
✔️ The emotional build-up felt genuine and grounded

What didn’t hit:
😬 That ending. It felt rushed and kind of… unfinished? Like the story was leading somewhere, then abruptly pulled the brakes. It needed an epilogue to give readers closure—especially after such a solid buildup.

Overall? A cute, quick read that almost nailed it. I’d still recommend it to anyone who wants a low-angst forbidden romance with a grumpy-sunshine dynamic—but go in knowing the ending might leave you wanting more.

Honestly, I don't think I'm the right reader for this book. It's a cute and sweet style. More of a contemporary romance. I read more dark and mafia.
It is a good story, no real reasons to hate it.

This is definitely a book that needed an epilogue.

This book shows that age gap is just numbers, you can resiste love but when he comes you are hit and nothing more we can't do to ignore.
