Najika came to Seika Academy to find the boy who saved her life. She thinks her “prince” might be either Sora or Daichi – the super cute brothers who are the most popular boys at school. That is, until one of the brothers warns Najika that her mysterious prince may not be all he seems! Will this revelation put an end to Najika’s lifelong quest?
This omnibus contains volumes 3 and 4 of Kitchen Princess, and special extras after the story!

There’s something to be said for a basic shojo story that hits all the predicted beats, but does them very well and has its heart in the right place.
This is almost the perfect ideal of what you expect from this sort of book, so it doesn’t necessarily do anything novel or exciting, but it’s executing what it’s trying to do just right.
Standard shoujo fare, but enjoyable nonetheless. I love the recipes - I want to try to make 'em all! It's a nice, sweet palate-cleanser from some of the heavier, darker stuff I've been reading.
Najika puts a lot of thought into her recipes, especially if they're being made for someone else. I think she's a little too saintly (although she DID get some small measure of payback on Akane) - but maybe I'm just too jaded to think that there's really a high school girl that's so pure and sweet.
In volume 2, we get more delicious recipes and hijinks of the group as they grow and learn to be part of each other's lives.
Najika fights against Akane's back stabbing to try and fit in at Seika Academy. She had thought that Akane was her friend but soon finds out its a lie.
Oooh! So much happened in this omnibus. I'm so happy I read it! And a bit hungry now, haha. As in the first one, the drawing is still really good, and the story is cute. Even though I have to buy the next omnibus to read further, it's completely worth it! 5 stars.
I liked this omnibus volume a little bit better than the first one. This volume felt like it had a bit more of a coherent story line than the first one. Seeing Daichi, Sora, and even Fujika-sensei support Najika was adorable and heart-warming! Akane became a Katy Perry song for the majority of the novel (Hot then you're cold~), but her and Najika's friendship at the end was as sweet as strawberry jelly. Can't wait to read the next omnibus installment!
High 4 stars. I don't care for love triangles or jealous ladies behaving badly towards girls when the guy is the one not interested, but I still enjoyed most of this omnibus immensely. The story is progressing, and the foods are tasty. The art is beautiful.
This series continues to be pleasant, relaxing, and fun to read. I genuinely really like Najika, and both of her main love interests, Daichi and Sora, are interesting and kind. At this point, I'm not even sure who she'll end up with, or who I'd want her to be with (though I am leaning towards Daichi a bit on both counts).
The cooking aspect remains fun, and I just love having a protagonist who has a passion. I do wish there was more of a learning curve for her, though. It'd be more compelling if she was already super great at cooking, and instead spent the chapters getting better and better. She does learn some new things occasionally, but her skills are already unmatched by everyone else. I do enjoy the addition of the cooking competition though, it adds a little more flavor to the story.
However, I have mixed feelings towards Akane. I do like the trope of having a bitchy mean girl befriend the lead girl, but I need to see more effort on Akane's side of things. Up to this point she's done one single nice thing for Najika, and a ton of awful things. I understand jealousy, but she didn't even have the decency to come to Najika and apologize herself, she first lied to everyone and thre a cup of water (or juice or something) in her face, then had the audacity to be surprised when Najika did the same back. She literally had to be prompted to apologize to Najika, because Najika is just a naturally kind person.
Anyways! I like the story, and I'm anticipating the next volumes!
It's honestly very surface? Is that the word I'm looking for maybe shallow but not in a bad way, just theres no depth to it. It resembles Fruits Basket, like a LOT all the characters look very similar, the base of the story line is almost the same. Both parents die and she meets two brothers that dont get along, shes falling for both while they are both falling for her. Mean girl looks the same too. When I first picked it up I actually thought it was part of the sires but after I started reading I realized it wasnt.... it's almost like someone read Fruits Basket and wanted to make it their own way but still wanted to stick to the basics. Honestly, the ONLY reason I'm reading this is because of the cooking and recipe factor. The story line is basic and predictable. I can read a 300 page book in about an hour, that's how "shallow" (I'm just going to stick with that word) it is. You dont have to think about it because theres no real true meaning behind what is being said. The ONLY thing I think they have taught in this story is to take your health more seriously, that's about it though.
Man, this shoujo knows how to be cheesy and charming with just a pinch of melancholy. Najika goes back to the orphanage/foster home, and it’s very heartwarming. Akane’s still annoying as ever, but her motivation makes sense. She even gets some character development.
Also, shoutout to Fujita the teacher. In any other manga, he would've been a lecherous pervert trying to hit on Najika. But here he's professional and just wants the best for her as a student.
This is the first love triangle I’ve seen where I honestly don’t know who will win.
Najika is slowly falling for Sora. His brother Daichi is in love with Najika. Akane is in love with Daichi. A sort of love triangle with feelings being hidden. Akane decides to try to stop Daichi from wanting Najika by lying to him making him thing badly of Najika. Sora comforts Najika and tells her something that makes her care even more for him. Bakc and forth feelings are happy then hurt as the story goes on. Who will end up with who?
I know. I know. I rarely read sequels for my manga collection because I am too busy screening volumes 1 for my school collection... but I am a sucker for all things baking and books with recipes... so I had to get the next omnibus for this one. I may have already ordered the third in the series too. This could be one of the few that I kept up with. What I love about this series is that Najika cooks and bakes to make others happy/help them out.
In this one, things get spicy as Najika finds out who her flan prince is... while developing feelings for him. But to make things more complicated, Daichi realizes he may have feelings for Najika. And to really spice it up, Najika's one and only semi-girlfriend is crushing majorly on Daichi. Talk about spice, jealousy and fires to be put out!
Also, there's a ghost in these volumes! And I love her.
I made two recipes from this manga with no regrets! I love that the recipes are illustrated and that anyone (including me) could follow them and make them successfully.
enjoyed the 2nd volume of this omnibus- still has that sugary fluffy shoujo feel but also the plot didn’t seem as repetitive this volume and we got to see some more character development from akane and the love interests! while i still have mixed feelings about akane, i have definitely enjoyed seeing najika’s relationships with the boys grow.. honestly i don’t even know which boy i prefer for her lol.. looking forward to reading the next! <3
Once again it’s cute & the shenanigans have me curious. Enjoyed seeing one character shake up expectations & one get their comeuppance. Didn’t care for the ghost story as it felt like filler & took me out of the story.
Also, this might be a cultural thing but I found it strange that the author puts down her work & herself in the side notes.
No lie, I actually really enjoyed volumes 3 & 4 of this manga. I found myself drawn in to the developing friendship dynamic with Akane and by the end of volume 4, my vote definitely shifted from Daichi to Sora. I guess I'll read the rest of the series.
I hate how the romance is entirely based on a little girl's idealization of a boy she talked to for like 2 minutes once. I hate how Najika's whole characterization is that she has a really good sense of taste and is obsessed with some guy she doesn't even know.
STOP MESSING WITH MY FEELINGS!! I totally thought Daichi was her Flan Prince but super cute regardless. They're all such cute characters and I wanna cry!
I love this series and I love that it comes in an omnibus version! I wish they focused more on the cooking and baking instead of hating on the main character.
