Bad boy and former NFL running back Patrick Guinness is tired of meaningless sex. Ever since his scorching hot one-night stand three years ago, no one has interested him. So when Max Segreti wanders into his mechanic shop—and his life again—Patrick can't stop thinking about the totally-out-of-his-league law grad and the possibility of getting him out of his system once and for all… Max Segreti has spent his entire life doing what his father wants. But when he runs into the hotter-than-hell player he’s never been able to forget, he’s not thinking about studying for the bar. A distraction is the last thing he needs, but after an encounter leaves him wanting more, Max embraces the chaos that Patrick brings…even as he knows it can’t last. They're too different to ever have a future together.
Jessica Lee is an EPIC eBook Award winner and international bestselling author of paranormal romance. She lives in the southeastern United States with her husband and son. In her former life, Jessica was a science geek and spent over twenty-five years as a nurse. But after the birth of her son, she left her medical career behind. During that transition, she discovered her passion for writing romance and has never looked back. Jessica Lee is currently published by Entangled Publishing and Resplendence Publishing. In addition, she has several self-published titles available.
After a chance meeting at a bar, law student Max and star running back Patrick have an incredibly hot one-night-stand in college and then each goes his separate way. When they next meet three years later, sexy nerd Max is studying for the bar exam while Patrick is working in his family's garage. Turns out Patrick's career in the NFL ended after only two years due to a knee injury and when Patrick's younger brother Liam gets in trouble with the law, Patrick asks Max for legal help and soon the two men are in a relationship.
Jessica Lee certainly knows her way around a steamy "Tell me you want me to fuck you" scene or two or ten, and Falling for the Player has a lot of really hot sex, but because there's not a lot of character development, it is difficult to see how Max and Patrick have any spark beyond sex. And once they begin dating, the narrative skips ahead several weeks ("Max was dreaming. That was the only explanation for how awesome the last few weeks had been.") so we don't get a sense of their dynamic.
There is also a lot of miscommunication between Patrick and Max, such as Patrick's immediate assumption that Max would never want to have a relationship with someone not in his social class or Max taking care of some financial issues without consulting Patrick. But there is plenty of angsty internal dialogue and it almost seems as if for every sentence uttered by either man, there is a paragraph or two of internal musing and pondering.
I liked the bones of this plot but lack of character development and pacing issues (and the extensive internal monologues) were too much for me to overcome.
I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review. Review also posted at Gay Book Reviews - check it out!
Está muy bien si eres fan del pasteleo y no buscas nada muy trabajado a nivel de personajes, sin embargo cumple su función: es dulce, entretenido, los chicos están muy buenos y hay algún polvo entretenido.
That's really all that's important :) but I'll tell you the rest ... the story unfolded perfectly, characters remained true throughout and I didn't want the story to end :)
2 stars – Every now and then, I get to the end of a book that I struggled to get into and realize that there was a good story there and that it could have been really good if only it had been told differently. Falling for the Player, by Jessica Lee, is one such novel. It had plenty of potential but because I never quite connected to the characters or their attraction to one another, by the time I got to the part of the book that had all the feels, I found myself wishing I had been pulled in somewhere along the way so that I could have felt them more.
One steamy hook-up between star running back Patrick Guinness and pre-law student Max Segreti indelibly marked each in the other’s memory. But one night was all it was. Three years later, their paths cross again when Max brings his vehicle to Patrick’s family auto shop. Max is now a law-school graduate, but he has always lived by the law set down by his father, the affluent man who owns the family’s law firm and who would never condone Max being in a relationship outside their elite social circle, especially if that relationship were with a man. Patrick is now a former NFL player after giving up his dream because of a knee injury. The devastating loss shortly thereafter of his father meant the family’s auto shop and the raising of his high-school-aged brother fell onto his shoulders. Being from two different worlds has both men convinced that they could have no future together, but the attraction is too intense to ignore.
Intense is a good word to describe the general mood the author is trying to impart on what Max and Patrick share in Falling for the Player. It comes through well in the initial hook-up found in the first couple of chapters. After that, the story fast-forwards to the present and their next meeting. I really think this is where my lack of connection to the characters started. Instead of giving me some character development, the book immediately gives the next time Max and Patrick meet, and it isn’t long after that before they hook up again.
Sure, I can understand physical attraction, but I wasn’t feeling it as something more than just physical because I didn’t know the characters very well at all. The start of the background storyline had been mentioned by this point, but it was overshadowed not only by their physical attraction for one another but also by the overdramatic portrayal of how every mistake one or the other of them makes causes them to think that they’ve ruined the chance to get back together. In many respects during the development portion of the novel, my lack of connection to the characters resulted in my being able to pay too much attention to how overblown everything seemed to be, from the characters’ reactions to things to the writing itself coming across as hitting every romance-novel cliché instead of simply giving me something that would pull hard on my heart strings. It all felt like the author was trying too hard to make it intense without taking the time to give me a reason first to care about the characters enough to where I could feel the intensity between them.
About two-thirds of the way through the story, at the point where Max and Patrick are together on a basis that’s more than just hooking up, there is another temporal jump, so instead of being able to watch and enjoy the development of feelings between them, there is only a recap of how good the past few weeks have been. So instead of being ready to feel the turmoil and emotions caused by the ramping up of the background plot from here on out, I still didn’t feel like I had much of a connection to the two guys. It’s a pity because there are plenty of issues in the story that created conflict and had satisfactory resolutions. Yes, I was happy that things worked out between them, but the lack of a connection kept me from getting very much of the sort of pleasure I long for when I read romance novels.
I imagine there will be many readers who love the intensity and writing style found in Falling for the Player. It didn’t work well for me though. There were simply too many missed opportunities where adding a couple of chapters of character development and relationship development could have made all the difference in making me care about what happened with these two men. This is my first exposure to Jessica Lee’s books, and though I’m not completely certain, I think this is her first attempt at an M/M pairing in her romances. I also can’t say with full certainty that this isn’t a case of “it’s me, not you,” so if you’re familiar with this author’s work, it could well be a much more enjoyable read for you than it was for me.
The author and/or publisher generously provided me a complimentary copy of Falling for the Player in exchange for this fair and honest review.
Three years ago while attending University of South Carolina the unexpected happened to Max and Patrick. A chance meeting at a bar that turned into a one incredibly hot one night stand also set the bar for every encounter they had with another after that. Their paths never crossed again while at USC though. Patrick went on to be drafted by the Packers and Max found himself swept up into the constant strenuous studies of law school with little time to date. Fresh out of law school, about to sit for the bar exam Max has returned home to practice law at his father’s prestigious law firm. Max now has a whole new set of obligations to not only meet but exceed. Running into the very sexy one night stand he never forgot isn’t exactly in his father’s plans for him but Max has never been able to keep that running back from running across his mind. Running his family business and raising his very big little brother was not in Patrick’s five year plan when he first meet Max three years ago. Things change and not always for the better. Patrick’s life has definitely taken a downward tumble from NFL football star. He isn’t angry or bitter about it though. Patrick has kept the family business going, kept its employees with paychecks, pays his bills, and does his best where his little brother Liam is concerned. It’s a good life albeit a lonely one. I was pleased by the fact that this really isn’t a sports romance. There’s a football player on the cover so I was prepared for a sports romance but Patrick is 100% former ball player. The former part is never really touched on either which pleased me greatly. The big thing with their relationship and its problems really is pride, wealth, and an asshole father not understanding his son isn’t going to magically be attracted to women one day no matter how convenient that will be for big papa. Jessica Lee packages it together in a manner that totally works as a believable road to happily ever after.
Three years ago a chance encounter brings Patrick Guinness and Max Segreti together. They only had one night of mind-numbing passion before they go their separate ways. That one night remains the best sexual encounter they both ever had and had since set the bar for every encounter they had with anyone else.
When their life coincides again sparks fly almost instantly. But even if they give in to their physical attraction there are issues that need to be brought out in the open and resolved before they can get their HEA.
Patrick Guinness is a former NFL player whose glory days lasted for only two years before his injured knee ended his career. He is now struggling to run a business, look after his teenage brother as well as cope with the loss of his father. His life has taken a downward slide but he does not have any regrets. He does not linger on “what-if”s. Patrick never did plan for this future but he is happy with what he got.
Max Segreti has always lived a life fueled by his father’s expectations. He has kept his sexuality under wraps because his father orders him to. After finishing law school he is all set to take his bar exam and work in his father’s firm. His career is where he has always planned it to be but his personal life is not something to write home about.
When Max meets Patrick once again their chemistry sizzles and crackles like no time has passed at all.
Patrick holds back from completely giving in to the lure of Max because of the huge gap between their social standing. He does not want to risk his heart coz he thinks he is nothing but a “ride on the wild side” for Max.
Max’s asshole father and his rules to keep Max permanently in the closet do not help matters. But Max stands up to him eventually and I was happy to see that Segreti sr making an effort to accept the truth about his son and welcoming Patrick into the family.
There is a ton of miscommunication that keeps on fueling PG’s insecurities. His surly, teenage brother also adds fuel to his doubts coz he is hurt and scared of losing his big brother. I loved the interaction between the brothers. PG loved Liam and vice versa. PG tries his best to protect Liam while also floundering with the responsibilities of parenting a teenager.
The romance is very predictable but very nice to read nonetheless. Max and PG’s chemistry lit up the pages time and again. The angst was there in high doses too but it all culminates into a very sweet HEA, which I absolutely loved.

Maximo "Max" Segreti has spent his school years with his nose in a book. He's determined to concentrate solely on finishing college and getting into a good law school, so he can join his father's law firm. Tagging along with a friend to a bar one night, he meets the school's star running back, Patrick Guinness. The two get to talking and hit it off. They share a night of passion, but Patrick leaves the next morning. He's worked hard to be the best running back and to keep his bisexuality hidden, so he can get drafted by the NFL, but he can't resist the blue-eyed nerd, even if it's just for one night.
Over the next three years each man successfully accomplishes their goals, but when they meet up after they both return to their hometown, the attraction is still there, but can they pick up where they left off?
I absolutely loved this book. From the moment I picked it up, I didn't want to put it down. I absolutely adored Max. He was so sweet and caring. Patrick, I wasn't always sure about. He had a huge chip on his shoulder when it came to the financial differences between him and Max. If I had one problem with this story, it's that it was never really explained why he had such a problem with the difference in their economic status.
The book is a well-written, quick and easy read and it had a wonderful balance of romance, angst and hotness. I wanted a HEA, but I wasn't ready for the story to be over. There are some couples you can read about for an indefinite period of time and Max and Patrick fit in that category. They had an amazing chemistry and when they got into the bedroom the sex sizzled. I thought my iPad was going to start smoking!! This book is jam-packed with lust, sweetness, angst, happiness, smoking hot sex and love!! I REALLY hope to see Liam's story in the near future. This was my first book by this author, but I look forward to discovering more from her in the future!! Highly recommended!!

Max and Patrick comes from very different worlds but they connect one night and don't see each other for years. Are the chemistry still there when they meet again?
I liked this story very much, the chemistry between Max and Patrick is hot and I think the author made a good work of getting it through in the story.
The storyline was good and I especially liked that there was not a long outdrawing of drama. The building up of the feelings between the two main characters are slow but with enough progress so it's not tiresome.
I liked the writing style because it was fun to read and straight forward with no big descriptions of the surroundings of the scenes, just setting the characters in the scene and describing their thoughts and feelings. The story is light and sweet and still holds enough seriousness to not feel like it's just scratching the surface.
There are lots of feelings and some very hot love scenes in this book and I appreciate that it's also sweetness in between the hotness which makes the love between the main characters come through more clearly.
I do recommend it if you like m/m romance and it's HEA for you who don't like series that goes on and on.
Fans of m/m romances will find this tale an entertaining read, a bit predictable at times, but one that will pull you into the angst-ridden connection between two men from very different worlds. As Max and Patrick work through issues of self-esteem they also struggle with familial judgments that had me rooting for them every step of the way.
Max has always been the responsible one, always doing what others expect of him, until that one unforgettable night with a college football player on the cusp of fame. It's a night where he let loose and indulged and it ruined him for any other man since. Despite that one moment Max has stayed true to his graduating law school and keeping his orientation out of the public eye as his father desires. A chance meeting with Patrick though reawakens old desires and takes them on a journey of desperation that has the differences in their incomes a major roadblock. From the first page to the last Max remains sweet and kindhearted, only wanting to love and be loved by Patrick. For so long his father has made the way he lives his life a dirty little secret and he's accepted it. Being with Patrick though inspires him to stand up for himself in a moment that had me cheering.
Patrick's always known he was bi-sexual and has sowed lots of wild oats throughout his college football career with each one less memorable than the last. It's not until the night where he's feeling at his lowest that he meets the one man he's unable to forget. The years since then have been unkind and left him a different man, one less self-assured in some ways except when it comes to his desire for Max. Theirs is a combustible relationship that always feels as if it's on precarious footing with every erotic encounter feeling frantic. Patrick's clearly a dominant, in and out of the bedroom, and the result is someone who's a bit touchy when it comes to money which leads to a big (and unnecessary) misunderstanding. He's also a man weighed down by the pressures of raising his brother alone and anger at not living up to his expectations which left me heartbroken for all he's lost and rooting for Max to heal him.
On a whole this is the kind of romance you've seen before with obstacles that are predictable. What saves this story is the main couple, who are far from perfect, but captured my attention nonetheless. Their personalities may be different with their unequal socioeconomic statuses and natures but they're decadently delightful together as they burned up the pages. Max is the calming influence with the positive outlook while Patrick is brooding and darkly sensual. I liked both of them but wish more time had been spent getting to know them on a more deeply personal level as their burgeoning relationship seemed to be all about sex. Surrounding this combustible couple is a small cast of secondary characters who subtly influenced Max and Patrick's relationship. From Max's supportive best friend to his judgmental father to Patrick's troubled younger brother these influences end up feeling stereotypical with roadblocks quickly resolved. Ultimately this is a story that kept me fully invested in the HEA of two men who clearly make each other happier despite their differences and I recommend it for the warm fuzzies the conclusion left behind!

I have not ready many MM Romance/New Adult books, but this book made me interested in reading more. I loved this booked it had me hooked right from the start.
The book starts off from chapter 1 hot, steamy and sexy. I did not want to put it down. The chemistry between Max and Patrick was off the charts you could feel it right from the first meeting.
I loved both characters they were both strong characters, the nerd and the football player not something typical you would find between two males. Every interaction between them was hot and the sex parts were intense and hot.
I loved Liam in the book as well he brought some humor to the story.
This is the first book I have read from this author and I would recommend this book.
This is an easy to read romance, involving two men from very different social strata, trying to deny their feelings--Patrick because he thinks Max is too rich for him, and Max because being gay doesn't fit his father's expectation of him.
It's messy.
Throw in Patrick's younger, tormented (by their father's death), and gay younger brother, Liam, whose mistakes lead to Patrick seeking Max's help, and it gets even messier.
The boys live in their own heads a little too much. We are privy to lots of thoughts from both Patrick and Max about how much the other one affects them. It's descriptive, and maybe a little too strong. More action! Less thoughts! Ha! There is also miscommunication, and need for big gestures and apologies, which leads to a very sweet epilogue.
Anyway, I enjoyed their story. Thanks to publisher and Netgalley for letting me read. Released January 16.
A chance meeting 3 years ago between Max Segreti, a dedicated law student, and Patrick Guinness, college football allstar turns into one night of incredible passion. It was a night that set the bar for all the other encounters these two have with anyone else. Now 3 years later their lives are very different but when they run into each other again it's clear the attraction is still there. They are still completely different and the craziness of Patrick's life is more of a distraction than Max needs right now. Some things are just worth fighting for.
This is a great M/M romance that I definitely recommend.
This was an enjoyable, engaging and entertaining read. With two main characters Max and Patrick that were both likable, who worked well as a couple, and certainly shared a few hot moments throughout the story.
There was also minimal angst and overall it was a sweet, and easy read. That I would happily recommend to others, especially if your in the mood for a light m/m contemporary romantic read.

This is the first book that I have read by Jessica Lee, but now that I have found her, it will not be my last. This book had me in chapter one, and then kept me throughout it. I was not expecting the three year gap between the first time that Patrick and Max meets and the second time they see other, but that really works for this book. First, this book was so hot! I could feel the heat from it. Second, it is a great story. This is a time when more and more people are accepting of a gay relationship, but there are those that still do not, and I think this book showed this so positively. I loved this book, and I highly recommend it.
First thing I must say I have read everything this author has put out and loved everything she has written. Falling for the player is another book I fell in love with . Meet Patrick and Max . Patrick is the all star college running back and Max well he is a nerd with his nose in the books to graduate law school. A chance meeting at a bar and a one night stand . They go the separate ways but can't get each other out of their minds . After a chance meeting and some trouble with Patrick's little brother , will they be strong enough to stay out of each others lives or will their passion be able to bring them back together .
I absolutely adored the characters in this book . Max is the son of a lawyer and has been groomed to come and work at his father's law firm. He is your typical book worm who has done nothing but study . He is a hard working kid who needs to have a bit of fun in his life . He is kind of a stick in the mud at the start . He works too hard and when Patrick enters his life it is turned upside down and inside out .
Max is the big man on campus . He is a football player and is cocky and good looking and I mean really good looking. He could have anyone he wants and when he sees Max he wants him . I really like Max he is cocky but so damn hot . You want to have your way with him . And even later in the book he is so cocky he kind of gets into trouble and almost looses everything . That's when you want to slap him upside the head and knock some sense into him . He seems to carry the weight of the world on his shoulders most of the time .
Trust me you will fall in love with both of these characters and want to take care of them both
This is a great read for an afternoon . The author takes us on a journey that will leave you breathless , and happy . The story doesn't drag and doesn't get bogged down with too many characters and back story. The author has a way of writing that is flirty and sweet but then when it comes to the love scenes it gets pretty hot and heavy . She can write m/m pretty damn well . So if you like to read sweet, sexy m/m with a HEA . Trust me the ending will make you cry happy, happy tears . Check out FALLING FOR THE PLAYER out today.

DNF at 36%
I am not a reader who DNF’s books very often, but I’m sad to say I did just that with Falling for the Player. I feel really bad about it because I feel like I should be reviewing the entire book not just what I read of it, but it’s just not possible with Falling for the Player. I’m not trying to trash this book. The writing had potential and so did the storyline. There were just too many big things that did not allow me to enjoy this book.
Falling for the Player was written in third person. This caused the majority of my problems. First, it felt like I was being told what was happening instead of experiencing it through the characters eyes. Second, I had a hard time switching back and forth between characters. There was no notice of when points of view were changing. The two main characters were both male and they sounded too similar. Their very different personalities didn’t even help much.
Another problem I had was that I couldn’t connect with the characters. I didn’t get why they were so into each other. I never really felt their connection beyond the television shows they both liked. There was potential for a great connection in that first chapter, but I felt the author ended it by cutting off the chapter abruptly before it was made. There didn’t seem to be much more than a sexual attraction between them from that point on.
The final straw for me was the anger and aggression from Patrick. It didn’t make sense to me. It made him seem crazy. I got that there were major differences in lifestyles between them, but the attitude he had toward Max wasn’t justified. It was off-putting. I had no desire to read any further. I ended my reading of this book at 36%.
Gives one hot, steamy, roll-around-a-lot sex between two sexy males that are very different from each other, but yet they have a chemical connection that spanned the time they were apart. Patrick and Max are at different points in their lives when the meet the first time. Neither was looking for more than what he got out of that night. Neither was expecting the night to have an impact on their lives moving forward. Now three years later, a chance meeting, a need of help, and more hot steamy encounters and Max and Patrick have a chance to see if this thing between them could be more.
I was on board with this read then somewhere I began to lose the interest that I had began with. The characters lost their draw. The relationship path forward almost stalled. My connection to the destination just was not there at the end. It was more I am done. Next read please.
I liked Patrick and Max. I loved how each asks about the other at their works, of course Max did not know Patrick worked there at first. Liam was great and sassy. I am hoping to read more about Liam and Tommy in more books. Also more about Max and Patrick so I hope this turns into a series.
3. 5 stars for this contemporary M/M New Adult romance.
Max Segreti is a nerdy college kid working hard on his studies when he meets Patrick Guinness, star college running back, sure to be picked high in the NFL draft, one night at a bar. They hit it off and the hit the sheets for a hot, hot night. In the morning they go their own ways, Max to law school and Patrick to a pro football career. Neither man forgot the other, however...
Three years later they meet by chance again. Only now, Max is studying to take the bar exam and Patrick is back home, running the family garage and caring for his teen brother, Liam, now that both their parents are deceased. His NFL dreams quashed by a devastating knee injury, Patrick isn't sure he can measure up to whatever standard Max may have.
Max still find Patrick devastatingly sexy, but he's been closeted by his overbearing father and isn't sure he can/should have any sort of relationship in the near future. Max is a good guy, though, and helps Patrick secure excellent counsel from his father's firm for Liam when Liam gets into a bit of a mess.
For me, this book was heavy on the sexytimes and light on the relationship. All the times I thought, okay we're going to see these guys build a strong bond, they either didn't, or the narrative shifted into the future. The tense moments--like Max being pushy about money or Patrick being stubborn about accepting charity--seemed too conveniently resolved. Patrick has a big problem dating someone who has a lot of money--like Max--but I wondered where his multimillion dollar NFL signing bonus went? Because he likely didn't spend all of it in his short stint in the game...so that was perplexing. I also got aggravated by some of the word choices, like referring "the other man" all the time in close quarters. I like hearing the guys' names in the books I read, and that sort of linguistic choice always kept me on the outside, hampering my connection to the characters.
That said, there is a sweetish resolution with Max and Patrick finding a common ground that satisfies all of their needs. Also, this feelgood end includes a happy teen and a puppy, so the cute quota is satisfied. A review copy was provided by NetGalley.
✔ Letto! Per me è ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤
Regret is a terrible thing. Regret for past mistakes. Regret for not standing up to someone. Regret for a decision made. Regret sucks.
Patrick Guinness is filled with regrets. Regrets over his career—he’s no longer living the dream life of an NFL star, he’s living smack dab in the reality of running the family business. Regrets over his relationships, especially the one that got away three years ago. A one-night-stand with Max Segreti still sits at the forefront of Patrick’s memory. The chance circumstance that brings Max to the mechanic shop brings Max into Patrick’s life again. And into his every thought.
Max is also filled with regrets. Regrets that he’s not stood up for what he wants and desires out of life to his family—especially his father. But Max is bound to make a change with Patrick—the man who’s never left his mind from their encounter when they were in college. Max has walked the straight and narrow of what’s expected, but he just can’t help waver from the path when given the opportunity to have a future with Patrick. Now he just needs to take the chance on love.
I really enjoyed my time spent with Patrick and Max. Both of them have been through so much. Both of them want to do the right thing by their families, but they’re both tired of putting their own wants and desires to the side. They are so unsure of themselves and each other, but watching them get closer (and closer in their sexy bedroom times too *fans self*) and stronger in their own right, I couldn’t help but root for them to get it together. ~ Missy, 4 stars
Where to start with this book??? It was so awesome. I have no idea how to put it's goodness into words. Will JUST BUY IT be sufficient?
A jock and a book nerd getting it on? Oh yeah!!!!
Between the smoking hot chemistry that erupts from the page whenever Patrick and Max together, the storyline that will suck you in or to the scorching hot sexy scenes that will threaten to melt your ereader this book is one hot read.
But it's also about more than the heat. For me it's about being true to yourself and finding that one person who gets you no matter what.
That's exactly what happens with Max and Patrick from their first encounter years ago , to the here and now when they run into each other unexpectedly and find that the snap and crackle of connection they found that one night is still there and too hard to deny.
Throw in family that's not too happy about them dating, a bestie that I want as my own, and two super hot guys in tux's (that's a visual every woman needs) taking things public and you get a story that will grab you and won't let you go till you are done.
This was my first book from this author but it certainly won't be my last. Not if this was a taste of her writing. I loved it.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher via Netgalley for review.
Patrick and Max may be going to the same college but they couldn’t be more different. Patrick is a jock, a football player, his focus on where his talent was going to take him. Max is going to be a lawyer, his family setting his path long ago, so his nose is to the grindstone, knowing where his devotion to studies is going to take him.
“I had fun, but…you know, football has to come first.”
A one night hookup, and years in between, meant their chance meeting should have been nothing more than a quick trip down memory lane. Instead, that memory became the start of something that could be amazing for both of them. If they let it…
They are still opposites with more than money separating them from a future together. Both of their families have issues with their relationship so navigating that and their own insecurities was a loud backdrop to incredibly steamy scenes (okay, scorching hot). They were getting to know each other, one misstep, one sexy scene at a time… I liked these characters who weren’t perfect yet were perfect for each other.
This author is new to me but a solid story, compelling characters and a natural writing style will have me coming back for more. ~Diane, 4 stars
This was an okay read for me personally. It wasn’t one that completely stood out for me, but it wasn’t one that was a complete bust either.
I personally haven’t read anything by this author before, but I did enjoy Lee’s writing style. Which is what drew me into the story. Max and Patrick were both good characters, and while I could get a feel of the chemistry between the two of them, the story itself was predictable for me personally.
Don’t get me wrong, I still enjoyed the story, and I did enjoy the twist that Lee threw in with Max’s father, but the story just left me wanting for a bit more I suppose. But, this was a good read for a Sunday afternoon. It kept my attention and kept me in the story.
Overall, I would say if your looking for a lazy day read, then be sure to check this one out.

I received an ARC from the publisher and I am voluntarily leaving a review. Max and Patrick had sizzling chemistry. From their first hookup until the end. They come from two different worlds and that could affect their relationship. It was a fast pace m/m romance. I felt like something was missing. Still, I enjoyed it nonetheless.
